Book of Phoenix Ashes
Book of Phoenix Ashes, Ch, 3 “Hello Sweet Prince”
Previous ChapterNext ChapterI, at the time, was eleven, I, with my quizzical mind, chained curious, what, better yet, whom did I rule over, besides the pony of equestria. I needed to know, my little runoff into the Everfree forest became more and more bland, and the need to explore heightened, I was bored. So I when to the only place I could for things out of my conceptual grasp, the library. I walked in, Bella on my shoulder, she’s grown a lot as well in a year, an extra three feet, I headed straight for the “G” section and found a book on Gods, how they had mystical powers, Powers of which to control others or elements, or weather, but nothing of me, the god of nature besides a story of how the great Prince will rise from the ashes of the stars and free the world of tyranny and what I considered, the iron grip. The major thing I found on gods, was they lived in the kingdom of Olympus, now getting there is a complete other story, one story involving adventure, the one grandeur thing this colt truly needed and was scorned for the trouble it brought, but no matter, I was ready for excitement and relies from my bounding of the “known lands.”
I hustled to my mother’s newly inquired home, “Mum, I’m home!” I said aloud the moment of opening the door, “Blaze!”
She yelled at me I winced at what might come next, “Where have you been for the last three hours?!” She being worried of my where bouts, I gave a concise answer, “I was at the library.”
She gave me her distinct “whoops” face “Oh, ok then I uh, sorry dear,” I replied to her simply, “Its fine mum,”
I preceded to pack my things, the new saddle bags of mine I got donated to me with a large Phoenix on the side on a embroidered shield liking thing, I don’t know what to call it but it looked like a shield and it was some fancy stuff, they were huge bags, able to carry 20 pounds each, with a thick gold plated Iron belt buckles, to fasten the top down onto its contents securely.
I filled the bags with fresh meat for myself and Bella on the trip, I packed a large map of the world, drawn out by equetrias’ greatest cartographers, and I brought, compass, I tried to fill both sides with the same weight so I wouldn’t list to one side. I opened the door, do be confronted by the terrors glare of the griffoness I call mum, “Where doth thy think thee going Blaze!?” She questioned me in ancient tong, “Olympus mum, I want to see my kingdom if I’m a prince of it, wouldn't it be apart of responsibility?" she gave a long sigh,
“Fine then, stay safe…” I exited the door Bella following close behind landing on one of the saddle bags, and my mother spoke out with one more motherly whine, “Say out of trouble!” I couldn’t help but sigh back with an, “Ok mum.”
I walked east, to the sunrise, as the book said, “Go to where the sun rises, and you’ll find thy portal to the land of the gods.” I walked for miles, covering so much new land, I passed fragrant white flowers, luster green pastures full of grass, and then it hit me like a roughly thrown stone to the head, literally, “Hey stupid!" called out a tall red dragoness, her eyes where pure white, iris and pupils, just white, she didn’t even look into my direction, she seemed from the dragon lands of the west, in familiar with the looks of their kind, but she approached me with the ease of any other dragoness in her specific stature. “Where does a small pony like yourself go, what’s that thing on your back….who are you?” I bombarded with questions, choked on my thoughts and words, “I-I uh ug….I am Blaze Nature, or Phoenixblaze Nature, as I’m now called…a-and the thing is my companion sun phoenix, Bella. Who are you?”
A solemn look on her face grew and she quieter and less invasive way spoke, “I am Mars, Goddess Of war, I’m guessing you search for your kingdom, my lord?” I scrape my hoof against the ground, remembering the “Days of Ashes,” I sighed, and said, “I prefer Blaze, over all that royalty tarring junk.”
Mars nodded, Follow me then Prince Phoenixblaze of Nature, I growled slightly to myself at her need to show respect.
Her eyes Glowed, a bright red, and a large Chrystal portal, built itself from the ground, the magical gate way of film that wavered in the inside of the arch, as I looked in awe, I was pulled inside by Mars.
I saw the huge golden gate and wall of stone, with the giant castle, reaching past the clouds, my jaw open, as I looked at it, as Mars yelled out, “The Prince Cometh!” it was immediately followed by its repetition by the many of voices, and cheers. Being overwhelmed by all this excitement in one sitting, Bella cowered in the feathers of my mane, her yellow and orange beak, crest and tail, poking out of my grey and black feathers.
As the gates opened and I walked in to a barrage of loud cheering and praise, all the griffin, pony, dragon, deerling, zebra, all cheered loudly, and then began to bow as I passed them, the sudden excitement and welcome, devolved into horrid, warship, I couldn’t restrain myself from acting out my beliefs of true, freedom, “No!“ they all shuttered, “I will not be worshiped like I’m some Lord of all or some higher thing around those terms, I don’t want you to bow down to me, I won’t wear my crown over you, and I refuse, to be treated like a prince!” They all immediately stood in shock, “I’m not a tyrant, if freedom is what I mean to rise from your ashes, then don’t treat me as if I’m above you.” At this point I was running out of things to say so I had to finish off, I began to walk away turning around, noticing the doors on the castle, and without thinking for a second, “I want the doors gone, the castle is a place for all to be, whenever.” I heard clapping and then applause, “I prefer to be called Blaze!” I shouted out so they could know, what I mean when they think freedom from what.
