The Other Shimmer

   The lights in the dark hallways of Crystal Prep High School stayed off, but I flicked on my flashlight. I knew that I shouldn't be doing this, but I needed that violin. Yes, I'm talking about the school's violin that a fundraiser helped buy. I can't afford a new violin, after Twilight destroyed my old one. Let's just say that...we don't get along very well.

   I crept through the hall towards Principal Cadence's office, where the instrument was held. As I turned the door knob, I couldn't help but think that this place should be better guarded. All the protection the valuable items in here had were the locked doors that could only be opened with a teacher's key. I'll tell you how I got in later.
