Once upon a time..

Twilight waved to her friends whilst on the train to Canterlot. Princess Luna had called out for her, needing her assistance and wanted her to visit as soon as she could.

The Princess of the Night never sent a letter to Twilight, she normally visited in pony. As she climbed back onto her seat, Twilight sighed. All of her friends were going to have so much fun without her, but this seemed important, so she left almost as soon as she had read the letter.

Spike had agreed to come with her.

"Twilight, I don't understand why we had to hurry. Luna said she would wait if you wanted her to. It mustn't be that important for her to offer to wait" Spike said, glumly. He had asked if he could stay behind, but Twilight said she would need him, and convinced him by calling him her 'Number One Assistant'. He wore the name proudly.

She smiled at him. "Oh Spike, I'm sorry I've made you miss your little fantasy hoof ball club, but they'll just have to continue without you. Luna needs us for something, and we need to find out what she needs"

He looked up at her, grimacing. "But she didn't say she needed me!" He said, in disbelief.

"Spike, we don't know when we will be returning home, so I will need to send a letter to my friends just in case. There is also the fact that something could happen at home, and I'd be oblivious to it."

He rolled his eyes. Twilight sighed again, looking at him. She pulled him into a hug. "And I don't know what I'd do without my number 1 assistant."

Spike smiled. They sat in silence for a long time, waiting to see the castle of Canterlot. After about two hours, they finally saw the castle.

It was the middle of Spring, and everything was going smoothly. The Grand Galloping Gala was approaching, rapidly. Twilight was sure that Princess Luna would be busy preparing for the gala, but obviously, that was another reason to hurry to Canterlot.

Whatever this thing was, it must be important enough to stop Luna's preparation.

The train came to a abrupt halt, and they clambered off. They immediately headed to the castle. Luna was waiting on the Astronomy Tower, and as she looked down to see Twilight and Spike, she nodded.

She spread her wings wide, and dropped to the ground near them, very gracefully. There was no impact, she just landed smoothly onto the ground.

Twilight bowed quickly, Spike following.

"Princess Luna." Twilight said, looking at the Princess.

"Twilight. We have much to discuss."
