I chuckled to myself, closing it back up and putting the bags on my back, clicking it in place. Trotting to the door of our cloud house, and opening the door I turned back to look at Thunderlane and Rumble and smiled. "Bye, I'll be back in about a week or so." "Bye, have fun!" Rumble said. I landed on the platform which was filled with ponies waiting for the train, though thankfully there wasn't any in the ticket line. Perfect I thought while trotting up to the ticket counter looking up at the screen to see when the train was coming and noticed that the next train to Vanhoover was coming in seven minutes. I rang the bell to catch the attention of the bored looking stallion behind the counter. "Hello good sir, I would like a ticket to Vanhoover please." "That'll be ten bits please," he said with the average bored expression. I dug into my saddlebags and took out the exact amount, setting it on the counter with an extra fifty bits on the side for the stallion, who looked confused until I explained, "You look like you can use a pick-me-up so I decided to help you out with these fifty bits. Have some fun, I'm sure this job can't be that boring,” I smiled. The stallion's ears perked up at that and a smile crossed his muzzle. "Wow, um thanks! This is so unexpected." "You're very welcome. I'm happy to help out a fellow pony," I smiled still, grabbing the ticket with my teeth, trotting back to the waiting area as the train pulled in coming to complete stop a few minutes later. "This is the train to Vanhoover! I repeat, this is the train to Vanhoover! This train will also stop at Canterlot! All aboard!" The conductor pony shouted. Time to get this show on the road I thought while trotting up to the conductor pony, giving him the ticket, and walked inside finding an empty seat with others being filled by various ponies. As the train departed and getting a good view of the countryside, I knew this was going to be a long train ride so I decided to take out the map again to know what I'm getting myself into. Okay, since obviously this train doesn't stop anywhere near Daring's place, I'll just have to get off at the station and follow the trail northeast. I shouldn't miss it, especially if I fly the rest of the way. I mean, it isn't that far right? Not that it would be a problem for me since I can just walk the rest of the way if it proves to be too much for me. I should also consider doing some sightseeing around Vanhoover to see what that city has to offer. I'm sure Thundybooty and Rumble would love to come someday too. Looking back out the window and at the beautiful scenery another thought hit me. Big question is, how would Daring react to me? I already know how I will introduce myself and it's going to be fun until the point where I have to convince her that I'm not there to rob her or anything. Hell, I'm sure it will be even more difficult to join her on an adventure...this will be fun indeed. I sighed, rolling the map back up and slipping it into my saddlebags. Although ... when I tell her about what goes on in the human world with her two episodes the books that were made involving her and the vinyl collectible I have for her, I'm sure she won't mind having me around for a while. I smirked as the train entered the mountain winding it's way up the mountain towards Canterlot. Get ready Daring Do, you're going to have to deal with a new annoying fan that might just be crazier than Rainbow Dash. Almost two hours later, the train finally arrived in Vanhoover. Getting off the train, I moved out of the way to let the other ponies get off while taking another look at the map. "Hmm, I think I'm better off just flying there," I said to no pony but myself. "Yeah, sightseeing can wait, I want to meet Daring already. I can just come back with Thunderlane and Rumble on another day and we can enjoy our time here." Flying up to the open window, I noticed that the shower was running with a very familar pony inside. Trying and failing to hold in a very big grin, I decided to put my plan into motion and flew inside. Meanwhile, in the shower "I can't believe that just a mile or two away from where I got the Sapphire Stone, there was another temple that contained a gold version of the same thing! It's even worth more! Why did nopony tell me this sooner?" Daring spoke to herself while rubbing shampoo into her grayscale style mane, scrubbing it. "No matter, I'll just start on my adventure going over there tomorrow. I know Ahuizotl probably has no clue about it... but just in case it's best that I-" YOINK! I only came in here with hopes of meeting you and drinking your bath water like any crazy fan would do," I said like it was the most obvious thing in the world, wincing slightly at the pain. As far as I'm concerned, Ahuizotl has no clue about its existence, so at the crack of dawn tomorrow, we're leaving to hurry up and get it just in case. It's extremely valuable and I have to make sure it gets to a museum." "Well, count me in then!" I said excitedly. "You'd think that they would keep the two statues in the same temple, but this makes it more interesting!" I let out a squee. Daring rolled her eyes, but nevertheless smiled. "Well since you're going to be here for a few days, want to join me for lunch? I just gotta go get my disguise to go as A.K. Yearling." "Oh! I'd love to. I just have one question." "What's that?" "Well alright then," the stallion said ringing up our order. "That'll be twenty bits." Before Daring could dig in to take out the amount requested, I held a hoof out to stop her. "Allow me to pay for your meal," I said, taking out the twenty bits and setting it on the counter which he took. Daring smiled. "Thanks Thunderclap... say, you wouldn't mind paying for dinner too right?" I winked at her, "Don't worry about it. I get plenty of bits a month and I have a lot on me so I don't mind helping out my favorite pony." The food came out a few minutes later which we both took with our teeth and walked to an empty table and sat down when a thought came to me. "Say, Daring." "Yes?" "Why don't you just let ponies see the real you? Can't be that bad right?" Daring shrugged, "In my line of work, I'd rather not have that many ponies knowing my true identity. That's why I stay as A.K. Yearling when I write my books, so most ponies know me as that and not the real Daring Do and I'd rather keep it that way for now. I went muzzle first into my food, eating with a happy smile, much to the disgust of the other ponies who noticed my way of eating. "Yeah, I just woke up today and left from Cloudsdale to come here and see you. I didn't have time to eat." Daring's eyes widened slightly, "You came from Cloudsdale? That's so far away." "Yep, took me almost 3 hours of catching the train, flying and walking." "Well then, you sure were determined." "Damn right I was." The rest of the time was spent with me eating happily while Daring was trying to look away, eating her food from the glaring eyes some of the ponies were giving me. Not that I noticed. Three days later at the temple "You know, I'm glad I didn't injure my wing this time because this is too easy," Daring said, flying over the traps while being careful regardless just in case. "This temple has the same exact traps like the original, so that must mean..." Daring flew into the main room to see that it was the same as the one in the other temple that housed the original Sapphire Stone. Pumping a hoof into the air, she let out a cheer. "Aww yeah! I love it when things are easy!" Flying up to the pedestal, Daring's reaction turned to shock seeing the statue missing. "Dammit! Did Ahuizotl actually beat me here? Or was it Thunderclap? Dammit! Luckily for me, I found this conveniently placed white chalk on the floor so I can draw some markings on my face to fool him. I got to work, and let me tell you, white chalk against my dark grayish coat goes pretty well actually. The sound of hoofsteps came up from behind and stopped. Turning around I came face-to-face with her mane enemy, Ahuizotl. Yep, he's tall and ugly. 0/10 would not rut even if I was paid a thousand bits. "You there!" Nooooo!!! Come my henchponies, we must hurry after her, she already took it. To the exit!" As the ponies ran, Ahuizotl spoke to me again before leaving. "I want you to do another check of this place to see if you can find anything valuable then report back to me got it?" I mock saluted, trying to hold in my laughter, "Yes sir! Understood." As Ahuizotl ran off, I took out the gold statue from under my left wing, holding it in my hooves. With a smirk on my face I flew back to the room where I found it at to wait for Daring. "What idiots, I can't believe that even worked." "I can't believe all of them fell for it! Especially Ahuizotl," Daring said, laughing so much that tears were coming out of her eyes. "Yeah," I replied, laughing myself. "I can only imagine his face when I don't actually report back to him." Daring wiped away the tears from her eyes with a hoof. "So, ready to go?" "I'm ready." "Oh that, yeah I got a little too excited and stepped on a trap which of course shot arrows with me taking three of them. They aren't really in there though, just slightly stuck." Yanking them out, I winced slightly from the pain. "There we go. I just got so caught up in this that I just forgot." Daring chuckled, "Lets just go, we got what we needed." With a flap of our wings, we flew off back towards home. Meanwhile, outside the temple "Keep searching! Daring Do probably didn't get far," Ahuizotl growled while searching. "But sir, if the pegasus one said he saw a grayish black streak leaving out of here, then that means that she is long gone." "I don't care, keep searching!" "Look!" Another henchpony shouted, pointing a hoof at the sky. "There they are." Ahuizotl looked up too see his enemy flying off with a very familiar looking pegasus alongside. Growling and waving a hand in the air, he shouted, "I've been fooled again! Curse you Daring Do and fake henchpony the seventh™!!!" Everypony around him facehooved with one saying, "We always fall for this shit." Everypony else nodded their agreement letting out sighs. A few days later back at Daring's place "Well, this has been a crazy week with you showing up out of the blue, annoying me at times. But, in the end, it was worth it since I got what I need with a lot of help coming from you so thank you, Thunderclap, I'm glad I could trust you enough." "I'm just glad I got to meet you and help you out," I said while giving Daring a hug. "My eye is healing nicely, so that's a plus and this will be quite the story to tell when I get back to Cloudsdale. Speaking of stories... will you add me in your latest one?" "Back on Earth, the humans make various merchandise for ponies including you so I want you to have this,” and handed it to her. My mother let go of Daring blushing furiously. "For your information, we are together and having the time of our lives!" "Aww, mom," I smirked, "That's good to know that you and him are having such a wonderful time together." "Well, I'll leave you two alone for now. I have stuff to work on in my room. About halfway through the Thunderclap/Thunderlane shopping fic, the idea of making a one-shot sequel came to me. The more I thought about it, the more I wanted it to involve with me meeting my favorite pony ever. This idea just stayed in my head so I just had to do it. As to how I wanted to go about in making this story... well, I was thinking of having it be different scenes where I do something to either annoy Daring or actually be nice and help her which is what the end result is here. Also, I started typing this up since May 7th, that's why you see it at the beginning.
