Intro - Golden Opportunity - Scootaloo

Scootaloo lazily awoke to the sound of her alarm clock going off. The morning light seeping through her bedroom curtains only reminded her it was finally summer. Her room was filled with random merchandise although most of it was centered around Rainbow Dash. It was Saturday and as usual she planned to hang out with her friends Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle. She slumped off her bed and turned off the alarm then walked to the restroom.

She looked in the mirror her purple mane in its usual style because of what Pinky calls "Cartoon Physics" .  She quickly brushed her teeth and trotted downstairs realizing for the first time the absolute peace of the household.

Saying that the household was quiet would be an understatement. The house was fairly modern and it wasn't anything special.  Scootaloo found her parents in the kitchen slightly happier than usual...  The smiles on their faces only rose her suspicion. 'Why do they have the I Just Got Laid Face' she thought.

"Uhhh... What's going on?" she said curiously at the bizarre sight and feel of the house.

"Oh Scootaloo, your father won us all a trip to Prance!" Scootaloos mother said in pure which completely took Scootaloo off guard!

"Thats right we'll be gone for 3 whole weeks! We'll be leaving tomorrow!" Her father said joyously.

Before her mother could say anything more Scootaloo excused herself and ran out the door at a speed that would make Sanic jealous. 'I have to tell the others about this!' she thought and dashed off towards the clubhouse knowing that this newfound news would take time off their plans. The morning was surprisingly chilly but she still enjoyed the cold breeze against her orange coat. She ran through the village she knew all too well... She's lived here all her life.

Even at this time of day the town was bursting with activity. Ponies were either buying produce or simply walking around without a care in the world. The village was still in repair after half the place was destroyed last week in a complete Dragon Ball Z ripoff.

She didn't know many other Colts or Fillies her own age except for Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle. She honestly didn't know why they hung out.

Sweetie Belle was a bit of an airhead and doesn't think things through most of the time. Lately Sweetie Belle has been strange around Scootaloo for instance in class Sweetie Belle would sort of stare at her from across the room not creepily but kind of thoughtfully like she couldn't understand something... Scootaloo couldn't figure her out.

There isn't much to say about Apple Bloom except she's 3 times as impatient in the process of getting her cutie-mark.

She stopped in her tracks and stared at The Golden Oaks Library. It was once a nice and calm place she would often go to with her friends. But three weeks ago all that changed... A centaur named Tirek had to say the least demolished it. It now laid in ruins still burnt from the flames that engulfed it.

She continued towards the tree house. She stopped and wondered what she would even tell the others. but when she was halfway there she was stopped in her tracks by none other than.... (pause for dramatic effect)... Rainbow Dash!

Scootaloo was just a bit obsessed with Rainbow. She is head of the official Rainbow Dash Fan Club, Has pictures of her hanging in her bedroom, ALWAYS keeps a strand of her mane with her, stalks her every Wednesday after school, and worships her with sacrifices but Scootaloos moher says it's just a phase.

"Why are you in such a hurry squirt?" Rainbow said curiously. Scootaloo couldn't help but squeal hearing her nickname.

"I got some important news to tell to my friends!" Scootaloo said happy just to talk with her lifelong role model. "Wait why aren't you at work?"

"Well....." Rainbow needed an excuse she couldn't possibly tell the truth! "An employee was murdered by a parakeet... " She said quickly. The truth was that her colleagues had gotten reckless at the factory and it had rosen suspicion, because of this Professor Cosmo had given everybody 3 weeks off until the equestrian police lost interest.

"A parakeet?"

"Yeah it was brutal. It pulled out his eyes then dug it's way into his head.... "

They stood there in awkward silence for a full minute...

Rainbow broke the silence "So he gave us 3 weeks off, so we wouldn't tell the police."

Scootaloos eyes lit up immediately and she asked a question that would change everything forever. "Are you going to be busy?"

"Nope, honestly I'm going to be a bit lonely, why?" Rainbow said obviously wondering what the fillies intention was.

"Wouldyoumindifistayedwithyouitwouldmeantheworldtome!" Scootaloo said at the speed of light. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity to bond with her role model, this was a Golden Opportunity...

"If your parents are OK with it I don't see why not." Rainbow said.

Scootaloo dashed off completely forgetting about her friends and the whole reason she was there but was stopped by Rainbow.

"What were going to tell your friends?" She asked curiously.

Scootaloo needed an excuse but it had to be believable...  "Rarity has AIDS!" she screamed and ran off to persuade her parents into letting her stay with Rainbow.

"I knew it!" Rainbow screamed!

Scootaloo dashed off back the dirt path she had come from. Scootaloo was in deep thought over what she could say to convince her parents. Her parents didn't think that Rainbow was a positive influence on her which was kind of true honestly. Rainbow being her role model had mostly caused her intense heartache and Scootaloo knew it. But that wouldn't stop her.

Scootaloo arrived at her house, closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and opened the door.
