Phisk had made mistakes in her life.

A lot of mistakes.

But the life she ended up with was not one she ever could have possibly deserved. Escape seemed impossible. She could do nothing to avoid what horrible fate would befall her. It seemed like she would be a prisoner forever.

Then, as if by magic, a gift from the highest reaches was given to her. With this, her escape is clear:
