It was all over Equestria. It was the only thing in every news paper in the country. It was the only thing anypony had talked about all day. They called it, The News. And yet, even though the adult ponies were very much aware of this anouncement, the small colts and fillies everywhere were going around town carefree and oblivious to the whispers and the tension that followed them everywhere they went. For 9 year old Scootaloo, the one thing on her mind right now was getting home and having a snack. There was five minutes left in school. "I don't think I can take much more of this," she mumbled as her stomach growled. Across the room, Sweetie Belle saw the impatient look on her friend's face.
Sweetie Belle turned around and whispered back to her, "my mom made cookies! Wanna come over?"
Scootaloo grinned. "I guess I can make it through the rest of Cheerilee's lecture after all."
Suddenly, Scootaloo heard Ms. Cheerilee say, "...and that's how Equestria was made. Now, your homework is..."
"5. 4. 3. 2. 1. SCHOOL'S OUT!" Yelled the class in unison. There was a rush for the door, and they were gone.
Scootaloo ran to grab her scooter that was parked beside the school building. Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle jumped in the wagon.
"Scootaloo!" somepony shouted. "You can't play right now! Time to come home!" Velvetheart, the pale purple unicorn who ran the Ponyville Orphanage, was waiting for her.
"Sorry girls! change of plans! I'll come over later ok?" Scootaloo's friends nodded and jumped out of the wagon.
Scootaloo rode her scooter over to join the other foals from the orphanage. "Nooo! I'm gonna miss Sweetie's mom's awesome cookies!" she thought. She slowly walked back to the orphanage, thinking about how the cookies there always tasted like cardboard.
When everypony arrived at the orphanage, Velvetheart handed out cookies. They looked great! But trust me, they didn't taste that way.
"Listen up everypony! I have an anouncement! The Princesses have decided to "organize" Equestria." All the foals groaned. Velvetheart pulled a letter out of her pocket and read:
Dear Velvetheart,
Because of my new plan for Equestria, only earth ponies will be allowed to stay at the Ponyville Orphange. This means that unicorn staff and all unicorn foals in the orphanage will be moving to Canterlot-
"YAY!" shouted the unicorns. "CANTERLOT HERE WE COME!"
"But why are we staying?" an earth pony shouted over the noise. "what "new plan for Equestria" is the Princess talking about?"
"Celestia decided that only earth ponies should live in places like Ponyville and Vanhoover, only unicorns can live in Canterlot and Manehatten, and only Pegusi can live in Cloudsdale and Las Pegasus. The list is bigger, of course, but those are some examples."
"Ooooooh" said the filly. "You can keep reading now."
-all pegusi staff and foals will go to Cloudsdale, and the earth ponies will stay here in Ponyville. You should get packing, because the Big Move, as I call it, will happen next Saturday. You have one week. Have Fun!

"Oh! it looks like It's time for dinner!" said a random staff pony. Scootaloo didn't care that they were probably having something really gross, she just wanted next Saturday to come as soon as possible. "Cloudsdale! It's gonna be AWESOME!" she shouted. "No Diamond Tiara!"
Sweetie Belle and Apple Bloom were at Sweetie's house eating cookies. "These are amazing!" Apple Bloom almost shouted, but she didn't because Rarity didn't like shouting in the house.
"Ah know they are, but ya'll should stop talking for a bit so me and Rarity can tell ya something," Applejack and Rarity walked in to the room.
The two Crusaders stopped talking and stared at their sisters.
"Sweetie Belle," Rarity started, "We. Are. Moving. To. CANTERLOT!!"
"OH C'MON!" Sweetie Belle yelled. Rarity and Applejack explained what was going on to Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle.
"Well, this really sucks," said Apple Bloom. "Celestia must be really dumb to think of something like that."
Apple Bloom and Applejack went home.
Scootaloo woke up the next morning. It was Saturday. "What should I do today?" She looked around. There really was nothing interesting in the room. A closest with some junk in it. Her bed. Some posters. Her scooter. "I think I'll go to the clubhouse and see if anypony's there." She grabbed her scooter and rode out the door.
As she was riding down the hall, she her somepony yell. A glittering pink glow surrounded her and her scooter stopped. "How many times have I told you not to ride your scooter inside?" It was a very angry staff pony. Scootaloo forgot her name.
Scootaloo did the math. "15."
The unicorn facehoofed. "I didn't mean it literally. I meant, haven't you learned not to ride your scooter inside if I've told you so many times?"
"Nope." Scootaloo got on her scooter and rode out the door, leaving the staff pony in stunned silence.
Scootaloo buzzed her tiny wings as she zoomed out the door and into Ponyville. There was a spilled wagon of apples in the middle of the road. She flapped harder, and jumped. In the air, she let go of her scooter, did a backflip, and tried to grab on again. She missed, and her scooter kept rising higher and higher into the air. "Scootaloo!" somepony shouted. "No! It's somepony from the orphanage here to get me in trouble!" she thought, so she just reached higher, flapped harder, and tried to grab her scooter...
