Today, when I wake up, Apple Bloom is hovering in front of my face.
“GAAAAAHHHH!!!” I scream, rolling out of bed and onto the floor.
“Oh, ah’m sorry Sweets. Ah didn’t mean ta scare ya.”
She helps me up. “It’s all right.” I say. “Just… just try not to do that again, please.
She nods. “Okay.”
We both leave my room and our met in the hallway by Twist.
“Ooh! What were you two doing in there?”
Apple Bloom facepalms. “Twist… fer the last time ah’m not lesbo.”
Twist giggled. “Okay. Whatether you thay.”
We continue walking down the hall. “What was that all about?” I ask.
Apple Bloom rolls her eyes. “Because me an’ Scootaloo are always seen comin’ out of our room together, Twist started a rumor that we were dating. But we’re not. In fact, Scootaloo has a boyfriend. His name’s Rumble. Cute guy.”
I sigh. “I used to have a boyfriend. We first met at the park. Well, that’s when my parents let me go to the park. He said he went to Trottingham Academy, which is where I would have gone if my parents let me go to school.”
Apple Bloom gives me a face of utter horror. “Yer parents kept ya outta school? Why?”
I shrug. “They didn’t want to pay the fees. They thought it was stupid. They hate me. Who knows.”
I rub my pocket, where I feel the old sock.
Apple Bloom notices. “Whatcha got in there?”
“Oh,” I say hesitantly. “Nothing.”
She frowns. “Well… all right.”
December 19, 2014/ School
It’s my first day of school. Ever. You can imagine how nervous I am.
The first class I have is Home Ec, taught by someone named “Mrs. Crust”.
And when she walks in, I gasp and cover my face. This “Mrs. Crust” is the woman from the train station.
“Now class!” she says happily, clapping her hands together. “We have a new student today! Go on, stand up!”
I stand and look directly at her face.
She lets out a little scream. “YOU!!!”
“Yeah,” I say, nodding calmly. “Me.”
Now, there’s this huge vein on her forehead that starts throbbing, giving the appearance that it’s about to burst.
“You think that you can come in my classroom? You’re wrong. Everyone in this classroom… in this SCHOOL, know that they can’t touch me.”
I scowl. “Whatever. I was lost. It’s not my fault if you were being a bi-”
“OUT!!!” she shrieks. “GET OUT!!!”
I waste no time grabbing my books and walking out the door. I spend the rest of the day hiding in the bathroom, tears slowly dripping down my face.
When the final bell rings, I make sure no one is in the bathroom with me, then I wash my face and leave.
“Hey, you!” someone calls from behind.
I turn. A boy, about my age, is rushing towards me. He has light brownish skin, ginger hair, a cream and red colored hoodie, jeans, and a propeller beanie loosely placed on his head. There’s an open Joy Boy in his right hand. I think I see a paused game of Super Mare-io Brothers on the screen.
“Hi there!” he says. “I just wanted to say that I think you’re cool.”
This takes me by surprise. “Um… what?” I say.
He sighs. “I knew this would happen. I’m Button Mash. I sit…sat…next to you in Mrs Crust’s class. No one says it, but she’s the worst teacher in the entire school and everyone hates her. You’re the first person to really make that clear.” A faint blush plays on his cheeks. “I...I really admire you for that.” He sticks out his free hand. “I’m Button Mash.”
I smile. “Well, great! Nice to meet you, Button Mash! I’m Sweetie Belle!”
December 19, 2014/ After School
Button walks me home. I really like him. He’s like, the first person to ever be nice to me. Except Scootaloo and Apple Bloom.
“So,” Button says. “Would you like to eat lunch with me tomorrow?”
I freeze. Did he just ask me out? Who cares. He’s cute, I like him….
“Sure. I’d love to.”
He smiles warily. “You’re joking, right?” he asks. “You have to be joking.”
I feel more tears coming to my eyes, but I force them back. “What do you mean?”
He exhales loudly, his breath shaky. “No one has ever sat with me before…so, I just sit in the bathroom and eat my lunch while playing video games.”
I frown. “Then… why did you just ask me?”
His cheeks turn a violent shade of red. “It was kind of a panic move.”
I laugh a little. “Great…”
He smiles, the redness of his cheeks going down a bit. “Great! See you tomorrow!”
He turns and walks away, but faces me one last time and waves. I wave back.
When I walk into the dorm, I’m greeted by Scootaloo.
“Hey,” she says. “I saw you talking with Button Mash.”
I sorta gasp and sorta choke at the same time. “Were you…stalking me?”
She explodes with laughter. “No, no. But I periodically look out the windows, and I saw out there with Button…but, I gotta warn you…”
I frown. “Warn me about what?”
She holds her head in her hands. “Oh, nothing… it’s just that he dates any girl who’ll give him the time. He dated Twist, Diamond Tiara after that, this one girl named Liza Doolots after that…” she paused, as if thinking. “Oh yeah, and pretty much shattered Apple Bloom’s heart into about a trillion pieces. Took her about two years to fully get over him.”
I laugh. “I’m sorry, Scootaloo, but I just don’t believe that. He seems so nice. Like he wouldn’t hurt a fly.”
Scootaloo shakes her head and looks down at the ground. “That’s how he ropes them in.”
She looks up and smiles, as if she wasn’t just dissing my first crush moments before. “Come on! Principal Celestia offered to take us all out to dinner! Just because you’re new here. Then she’ll go back to ignoring us.”
December 19, 2014/ Dinner
Celestia takes us all to a place called Isola, which I hear is the best taco place in all of Canterlot.
While I’m finding a table, I catch sight of a familiar purple haired girl.
“RARITY!!!” I shriek at the top of my lungs.
She turns. “Oh…Sweetie Belle…hello….”
I rush over. “Aren’t you happy to see me?”
She rubs the back of her neck. “Um….yes…? Yes, darling, I am happy to see you….”
She looks at her blank wrist. “Well, look at the time! I’d best be running along now! By Sweetie!” she runs out the door.
I feel tears coming for the third time today. Why was she acting like that?
“Yo! Tacoth coming through!” Twist calls from behind me.
“Sorry.” I say before moving out of the way.
We all sit in a cramped little booth.
“So,” Celestia says as she bites into a fish taco. “How’ve you all been?”
Tiara picks a stringy bit out of her taco. “Could’ve been better. Some weirdo tried to steal my tiara. Nothing too big.”
Celestia cringes. “Do you know who it was?”
Tiara shakes her head. “No. If I did, I would have broken his face.”
For some reason, Twist laughs so hard that she not only spills tons of crap from her fully loaded taco everywhere, but she also starts to choke. Next thing we all know, Celestia is giving her the Heimlich Maneuver in the middle of the restaurant.
Scootaloo smacks her head on the table and laughs wheezily. “Just a normal day for the northeast dorm!”
Celestia groans as she sits back down. “Scootaloo...we have a new student here…maybe you could try to-”
“It’s okay,” I interrupt. “I’m used to it already.”
Celestia nods. “Well good. Great. I’m glad.”
Apple Bloom takes a bite of her apple salad. “So, Sweets. I saw that ya were talking outside with Button. Y’know he’s a major heartbreaker, right?”
I facepalm. “God. How many of you were secretly watching me?”
Everyone looks around the table nervously.
“All of you? Really?”
“Thorry.” Twist says. “We couldn’t help it.”
“Quiet, chokey.” I snap, which shuts her right up.
Before I can say anything else, Celestia claps her hands together.
“Well,” she says. “I think we should get going now.”
December 19, 2014/ Home
When we all finally get home, I collapse on my bed and stretch myself out. I can’t help but think about Button. He can’t possibly have dated all those girls, right? Especially Apple Bloom, who’s already one of my closest friends. He’s not her type.
I get up, change into my pj’s, brush my teeth, and go to sleep.

It’s five days until Christmas.
I’m thinking about going shopping for my new friends, and Button too, but I don’t know. I never really been a “Do things for other people” person. I never got presents for my parents. Acceptable.
After I get dressed and go into the hallway, I see Apple Bloom and Twist parked outside the bathroom in a heated argument.
I roll my eyes and pass them. “Never a dull moment here. No Siree.”
December 20, 2014/ Breakfast
Celestia’s still here.
She sits with us at breakfast, and it’s obvious that we’re all a little confused.
She looks at all of us. “Well, I believe you all are wondering why I’m still here.”
We all murmur an agreement.
She laughs a little. “Well, alright then. As you have probably noticed, you have no dorm manager here, and every other dorm has one. The southeast dorm has Polly Mare, the northwest dorm has Doctor Whooves, the-”
“We get it.” Silver Spoon says as she rubs the dark bags under her eyes.
Celestia coughs daintly. “Right. Moving on. Your dorm, however, lacks a dorm manager, and I think that could be-” she glances in Twist’s direction. “Hazardous to your health.”
Twist smacks her face on the table. “I’m thorry, okay? It wath juth kind oth funny, that’th all.”
Tiara smashed her fists down on her plate. “It was not funny! Some idiot tried to steal my tiara!”
“Um,” Scootaloo interrupts. “Are we talking about your actual tiara, or is that a synonym for something else?”
Everyone at the table except for Tiara and Celestia erupts with laughter.
“We are talking about the tiara that I wear on my head.” Tiara says through clenched teeth. Scootaloo laughs even harder.
“ENOUGH!” Celestia yells. “Listen, I know it’s the morning, we’re all kind of tired. That does not mean that you can sit around the breakfast table making inappropriate jokes!”
Scootaloo looked at the ground. “I’m sorry.” she squeaked.
Celestia puts her hands together and sighs. “Never again.”
December 20, 2014/ Lunch
Button is waiting for me outside the cafeteria.
I let out a breath of relief. “Oh good, you’re still going to have lunch with me.”
He gets a confused look on his face. “Yeah…. did you think that I wouldn’t?”
“Maybe.”
He takes my arm, which makes my heart flutter. “Come on. Let’s go.”
December 20, 2014/ Home
When I arrive at the dorm, Celestia is at the kitchen table going over a buttload of paper work.
Twist is watching her, fascinated. “It’th like I’m not ethen here!” Twist whispers.
Apple Bloom comes in, munching on an apple. “We’d all like ta pretend that ya ain’t here, Twist.”
Twist sticks her tongue out. “Thut up.”
While they spend more time arguing, I go to my room to finish up some homework, then I play video games.
Someone knocks at the door. I pause the game. “COME IN!!!”
Scootaloo opens the door. “Celestia wanted me to come up here to tell you that it’s dinner time.”
“Right. I’ll be down in a minute.”
She catches sight of the video game.
“COOL! You’re playing Super Mare-io Brothers 2?”
I nod.
She gets this mischievous smile on her face, which kind of scares me. “Can I play?”
“Oh, well sure, I guess-”
She plugs in the extra controller and unpauses it.
About twenty minutes later, Celestia comes and brings us our dinner, which is pizza! Turns out that’s what they eat every Friday. She seems to understand why we didn’t come down.
After getting to Level thirty five, I save the game, brush my teeth and go to sleep.
Saturday, December 21, 2014
It’s four more days until Christmas, and I just realized that I haven’t bought my friends anything yet, so I just decide to re-gift.
I search through my closet, my junk drawer, my suitcase, EVERYWHERE.
Nothing.
I sigh and go downstairs to get some breakfast, which is just leftover pizza from last night.
Celestia is handling more paperwork, Scootaloo is laying face-down on the couch, Twist is watching some weird show I’m not even gonna get started on, I don’t even know where Apple Bloom is, and Tiara and Silver Spoon are polishing some weird little figurines.
I sit and try and watch the show, but it’s too much.
I go into the kitchen and watch Celestia tackle the evil forces of paperwork.
“Sweetie Belle,” she says, looking up from signing something. “You haven’t picked an elective class yet, have you?”
“Depends,” I respond, thinking hard. “What’s an elective?”
She puts her pen down. “An elective is a class that you take for fun. It could be something like art, drama, orchestra. You get it. You haven’t signed up for one, correct?”
I nod. “Correct.”
She digs around in a separate pile of paper, then pulls a light pinkish sheet out.
“Here,” she says, handing it to me. “You pick one out, then we’ll go to school to meet the teacher.”
I take the piece of paper. “Wait. Today’s Saturday. There is no school.”
She rubs her forehead. “Yes, but all the teachers are there. I can have you meet some of them.”
I nod. “Great.”
Going over the list, I see nothing that really interests me. Drama, for snobs. Art, for people who think they’re the new Van Gogh or something like that. Band, for people who like to shatter other student’s eardrums. Orchestra… actually, I can’t find a way to hate on that. I’ve always had a fondness for string instruments.
“This one.” I say, slamming my finger into Orchestra. “I like this one.”
Celestia picks up the paper. “Good choice. Do you play an instrument?”
I shake my head slowly. “I…I play my voice…sometimes…”
Celestia lowers the paper. “Well…I think they need a singer…I’ll check when we go over there.”
She looks at her watch. “How’s twenty minutes sound?”
“Perfect.”
December 21, 2014/ School
The orchestra teacher is named Mr. Nandermane.
He seems really nice. I’m so glad. Most of the time I have terrible luck with teachers. Like Mrs. Crust.
And, orchestra does need a lead singer, so I’ll be doing that.
While we’re leaving, Celestia informs me on more things about electives.
“The elective class is sort of a merging point for all of the grades in Canterlot High, so there will be some older kids in there with you.”
“Oh. Okay.”
Celestia laughs a little. “There’s nothing to worry about, Sweetie Belle. Most of the kids here are nice. Mostly.”
December 21, 2014/ Home
For today, I decide to come up with discount gifts to buy everyone. I think I’ll get Scootaloo something tomboyish…like, I don’t know….a scooter?! Scooter is in her name, so she probably likes scooting...whatever. I know Rarity has an old one somewhere, so I’ll just have to find her and convince her to give it to me.
For Apple Bloom….I’ll think of something.
Silver Spoon and Tiara don’t really need anything, but I’m guessing that they’ll throw a huge fit if I don’t get them something.
I’ll give Twist some candy canes. She seems to like them, and I can take some from her private stash and not tell her.
For Celestia, maybe some old earrings? Rarity has a ton that she doesn’t use anymore…
Button Mash. I look at the open box for Super Mare-io Brothers 2. I wonder if he has it…
I turn the game on, erase all of my progress, and put it back in it’s case. I’ll find some wrapping paper from somewhere.
I go downstairs where Celestia starts to play a movie. All of us come to watch it, mainly because it’s raining outside and we have nowhere to go.
After the movie and it’s four sequels, I turn in for the night.

THREE MORE DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS!!! I’m practically overflowing with joy!
Also, it started snowing today. Luckily, there’s just a few millimeters, so we’re not like, snowed in or anything.
Celestia gives me twenty bucks for Christmas shopping, then she comes with me to make sure I find everything okay.
For Tiara, I picked up a fur coat that looks like it would be over a hundred bucks. In reality, it was only five dollars. Score!
Silver Spoon’s gonna get a fake silver and gold necklace that has a faux sapphire hanging from it. Just so long as she doesn’t figure it out, I’ll be okay… Only two bucks!
Apple Bloom will get a set of apple-scented lotions. Another five bucks…
I already “borrowed” some of Twist’s candy canes. Free!
Rarity will cover Scootaloo and Celestia’s gifts. Also free!
With my leftover money, I buy myself a coffee and some weird little peppermint pastry that I’ve never seen before.
Celestia leaves a while later, so I just spend some time wandering around the store until they make me leave for loitering. Luckily, the store is attached to a mall, so I meander around there. I go window shopping at a couple of clothing stores and jewelry stores, when I see something… interesting.
Button Mash is in the jewelry store.
I drop to my hands and knees and peer in through the doorway.
He’s buying a beautiful pair of emerald heart earrings. I love emeralds.
The clerk puts the earrings in a bag, and the two of the talk for a minute. Then Button starts to walk towards the door. I leap to my feet and hide behind a sign that’s near the store.
I watch him walk away, and I decide to follow him. That’s not like, stalking him though. That would be totally creepy.
Eventually, he stops and sits down on a bench and puts the bag by his feet. So, I decide…. what the heck? I walk over to him.
“Hi Button.” I say super-casually as sweat pours down my face.
“Sweetie Belle! Hi!” He says as he pushes the bag under the bench with his foot.
“Well,” I cough as I start to perspire even more. “I gotta run. Later!”
“Later…?” he says as I run off.
December 22, 2014/ Home
I sit on the couch in the living room and have a laughing attack while the others stared at me.
“Are ya alright, sugarcube?” Apple Bloom asks me.
“Yup!” I say louder than is needed.
“I saw Button at the mall! We chatted for a while…” my voice starts to move up and down in a strange way. I laugh again to regulate it.
Apple Bloom nods slowly. “Right…. is there maybe some medication ya were prescribed ta that ya have taken too much or none of?”
I cough and hack for a good five minutes, then shake my head. “Nope! I’m perfectly fine!”
I end up going to bed SUPER early that night.

There was a terrible snow storm last night. Now we’re all snowed in. No matter. All of my Christmas shopping is done, so all I have to do is wrap them.
And I forgot to buy wrapping paper. Crap…..
Oh well. I head down to breakfast, where Celestia is doing…can you guess it? Correct! MORE BLEEPING PAPERWORK!!!
Also, I have this strange cough and I’m still sweating a lot. I’ll be fine. I’m sure of it.
Breakfast is fruit salad, made by Apple Bloom. So, of course, it’s mainly apples.
“Hey, Apple Bloom,” I say with my mouth full of salad. “Do you have any wrapping paper I can borrow?”
“Sure!” she says. “Tons! I’ll go get it.” she runs up the stairs.
“CAN YOU JUST PUT IT ON MY BED? THANKS!” I yell before going back to eating. Then I sneeze and blood sprays all over the table and everyone’s food.
“Oh my god.” Celestia leaps up from the table. “Sweetie Belle, are you alright?”
I nod. “Yeah, I’m fine. I don’t even feel it.” I sneeze again, which sends a lot more blood across the table.
“I don’t think that’s a good thing.” Celestia murmurs.
She helps me upstairs to my bedroom and takes my temperature.
“102.” she says, pulling the covers up to my neck. “You’re sick.”
“What?” I say, sitting up in bed. “But I feel fine!”
“Well you aren’t.” Celestia replies sternly. “Rest for a while.”
December 23, 2014/ Afternoon
I’m in and out of sleep all day. I think I started having hallucinations, I’m not really sure. I don’t think the dancing clown was real, though.
At around eight o’clock, I convince myself that I feel better, and I get up and go to the dining room. I look out the window. We aren’t snowed in anymore! Yay!
“Well, look who’s up!” Scootaloo says cheerfully. “How ya feeling, Sweets?”
“Did you all see the dancing clown?” I ask.
Everyone looks around the table skeptically. “No…” they all reply in unison.
“That’s what I thought.” I mumble before taking a seat next to Apple Bloom.
Celestia comes out of the kitchen carrying tons of shrimp and cocktail sauce. “Dinner is served.” she said as she placed the tray in the center of the table.
Everyone digs in. Celestia looks at me with a pained look on her face.
“Ooh… Sweetie Belle….. you might still be a little sick… come into the kitchen, I’ll make you some soup.”
“But… but…” I stammer, making hand gestures towards the tasty looking meal. “Shrimp cocktail!”
Celestia sighs. “I know. And I’m sorry. But you might still be sick, and that won’t make your stomach feel very good. Don’t worry. There will some left over.”
Scootaloo looks up from her plate with a messy face. “No there won’t.” she says before digging in again.
I grumble, then follow Celestia into the kitchen.
“But I’m not sick!” I protest as she microwaves the soup.
Then I throw up all over the floor.
“Yes, you are.” Celestia scoops me up in her arms and carries me upstairs.
“No… I’m….. not!” I sneeze more blood onto her arm.
She puts me down in bed and places a bucket next me.
“If you have to puke, do it in there.”
She walks out and turns the light off.
I drift in and out of sleep a couple more times, throw up a bit more, then finally settle into a constant sleep.

Today, I feel much better. I’m not throwing up, I’m not sneezing blood, and I’m not hallucinating. I really thought that that clown was real. It scared me.
Oh, one more thing. IT’S CHRISTMAS EVE!!! I finished wrapping my friend’s presents, but I DID NOT get Celestia’s or Scootaloo’s gifts yet, so I’m going to have to fix that…
I run downstairs, open the fridge, and grab tons of shrimp and shove a couple into my mouth.
“She lives.” Tiara says as she passes by the kitchen.
Celestia is still at the table, a pained expression on her face.
“Principal Celestia?” I ask as I shove another shrimp in my mouth.
“Yes?”
“Do you know where a place called Carousel Boutique is?”
“Yes, Sweetie Belle. It’s down the street near Sugar Cube Corner.”
“Great! Um…. where’s Sugar Cube Corner?”
“It’s in town square, the house that looks like gingerbread. You can’t miss it.”
“Thanks!” I rush out the door with wrapping paper in hand.
December 24, 2014/ Carousel Boutique
“RARITY!!!” I yell as I burst in through the front door.
My sister turns away from the new dress she was putting onto a display. “Sweetie Belle! Whatever is the matter, darling?”
I pant for a few minutes, then stand up straight. “Do you still have that old scooter from when you were eight?”
She gives me a strange look. “Why, yes I do! Why do you ask?”
“I need it!”
She coughs. “Well…alright…I suppose I could find it for you…” she walks upstairs.
While she’s doing that, I spot some pretty earrings underneath of an end table.
“Dang it, Rarity!” I say as I grab them. “Always got junk lying around everywhere.” I stuff them into my pocket as she comes down the stairs.
“Here you are.” she hands me the old scooter.
I salute her. “Thank you ma’am!”
I sit on the ground and wrap the scooter as fast as I can without it looking messy.
“Bye Rarity!” I yell as I run out the door.
December 24, 2014/ Home
Celestia takes us to some place to buy a Christmas tree. Me, Apple Bloom, and Scootaloo decide to let the others pick out the tree while we play a game of massive hide and seek. It’s great because it’s basically a maze here.
After about an hour, I get so lost that I try and climb something to spot the rest of the group.
In the end, I didn’t climb anything, but I had succeeded in knocking over twelve Christmas trees and a lamppost.
Celestia and the others were able to track me because of the enormous amount of noise I was able to make. That’s totally what I had planned from the start.
We buy a good sized tree, then head back to the dorm where we spend the rest of the night decorating it and putting presents underneath it.
By ten o’clock, we’re all pooped. I brush my teeth and go to sleep.

Today, when I wake up, I realize three things. One, it is currently twelve in the after, two, it’s snowing outside, and three, IT’S CHRISTMAS!!! YESSSSSSSS!!!!
I leap out of bed and rush downstairs. No one else is awake yet. Good. I grab the phone from off the wall and open up the huge phone book. I then dial Button Mash’s number.
“Hello?” a female voice says drowsily.
My heart sinks into my stomach. “Um, hi, is Button Mash there?”
“Yes.” I can hear her calling Button over.
“Hello?” he asks cutely.
“Button, Hi! It’s me, Sweetie Belle! Do you wanna come over?”
No response for about five minutes. “Sure, I guess. Let me go ask my mom if it’s okay.”
“Is that who answered the phone?”
“Yeah.”
I let out a sigh. Good. So it wasn’t some other girl. Well, it was, but moms don’t count.
“Okay. She said I could come over.”
“Great! When will you be here?”
“In about five minutes.”
“Yay! See you then!”
“You to.”
I hang up the phone and go wake everyone up.
I couldn’t find Celestia, but that’s when I realized she had crashed on the couch.
Once we’re all there, Button included, we start opening gifts.
Celestia picks one up. “Okay, this one’s for Twist.”
Twist eagerly takes the package in her hands and rips it open. Inside is a book called “How to Make it In Life With a Lisp”. Twist scowls. “Very funny, Apple Bloom.”
“Alright, this next one’s for Sweetie Belle.”
I open up a beautifully wrapped gift. Inside is a new phone.
“Oh my god.” I cover my mouth as tears drip down my face.
“I noticed that you needed a new one.” Tiara states plainly. “Your welcome.”
“Thank you, Tiara!” I hug her.
“No problem.” she says as she shoves me away.
“Next up… Scootaloo!”
Scootaloo rips open a lumpy package. I already know what it is….
“A SCOOTER!!!” Scootaloo shrieks, jumping up and down. “Ohmigodohmigodohmigod!”
“Merry Christmas.” I say quietly.
She turns to face me. “YOU? YOU GAVE ME THIS?!”
She bounds over and wraps in the biggest hug I’ve ever received.
“YOU’RE MY BEST FRIEND!!!” she yells.
“Thanks, Scootaloo.”
“Okay, this one goes to Tiara.”
Tiara picks up a gift and looks at it quizzically before opening it. Inside is the fur coat I bought her.
“YES!!!” she screams. “This is exactly what I wanted!”
I smile. “Well, good.”
After a lot more gift opening later, there’s only one more present under the tree.
Celestia picks it up. “Alright. This one’s for Sweetie Belle.”
I open it up. Inside are a pair of emerald heart earrings.
“Merry Christmas.” Button said.
“Button…” I say. “You didn’t have to give me these. They must have been really expensive.”
Button nods slowly. “It was.”
I leap towards him and tackle him to the ground.
“Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you so much!” I yell. I kiss him on the cheek. We stay down there for a few more minutes before I finally let go.
When I look around at everyone else, they’re all snickering.
“What?” I ask.
“Nothing.” Scootaloo giggles. “Nothing at all.”
We all sit in the living room watching tacky Christmas specials.
After a while, Celestia makes us dinner.
And when one of us bothers to look out the window, we realize something.
The snow has piled up to about a foot. It’s still coming down hard.
“YAY!!!” I yell, throwing my hands in the air. “Button gets to spend the night!”

When I wake up, I feel okay for about ten seconds. And then I remember what happened last night.
How could I have said that stuff? I’m better than that! Tiara wasn’t flirting with him, right? Right! There’s no way that she could possibly have an attraction to him. He’s a total dork!
…But he’s my dork. Even if he doesn’t know that.
I lightly beat my head against my door, before opening it and going downstairs.
It’s super early, and only Tiara’s up. Her eyes are all puffy and red, not to mention the unsightly dark bags underneath them, and her hair is all mussed up. She’s watching some anime show quietly, so I’m able to sneak past her into the kitchen.
I grab an apple from the fridge, then go back to the living room and lightly tap Tiara on the shoulder. She whirls around, then sighs.
“Good. It’s just you.”
I nod. “Um, what do you mean, ‘just you?’”
She stares at the TV for a minute, then responds with, “Celestia kept trying to cheer me up. I thought it might have been her.”
I twirl my thumbs. “Listen, Tia, I’m sorry about-”
She cuts me off. “Don’t be sorry. It’s all my fault. I never should have started flirting with him.”
She kicks her feet up onto an ottoman. “It’s just that…I’ve been so lonely lately, y’know? Ever since I found out that my crush was dating Scootaloo. Can you believe it? Scootaloo! For the longest time, I thought her and Apple Bloom were dating.”
I laugh a little. “Wait a minute…you have…had…a crush on Rumble?”
She nodded. “Yup. Biggest crush I’ve ever had. At one point, when I thought I was losing him to someone else, I even told him that I liked him, but he didn’t care!”
She adjusts her tiara before continuing. "How could anyone decline me? I’m irresistible!”
I pinch the bridge of my nose. “Tia, this should go without saying but…maybe the reason he wasn’t interested was because of how you act. No offense, but you’re not what I’d call…tolerable.”
She pouts. “Are you kidding? I am more than tolerable. I’m…something better than tolerable.”
I roll my eyes. “This is what I mean. You brag about everything. It makes you sound like an egotist. You may not know this, but almost everyone hates you.”
It takes a few minutes for this to sink in.
When it does, I can see her eyes start to water. “You mean…no one likes me?”
I shake my head. “Nope.”
She looks down. “Oh god…I had no idea…I always thought everyone liked me…”
I pat her on the head. “I’m sorry. I thought you knew, and didn’t care what other people thought.”
She shakes her head. “No…no, I didn’t…”
She buries her face in her hands. “I suppose…I suppose I could try to change…it’s not too late, right?”
I smile. “No. It’s never too late to change.”
I sit down on the couch to her right. “So Tia, what are we watching?”
She wipes her eyes. “Madoka Magica.”
“Cool.”
She frowns. “One last thing, though.”
I nod. “What?”
She glares at me. “Never call me Tia ever again. Got it?”
I laugh. “Got it.”
The front door opens.
"Quietly, quietly." Someone whispers. Scootaloo and Apple Bloom come in. They stop and stare at us with a somewhat comical look on their faces.
"Don't tell anyone about this." Scootaloo finally says.
Friday, December 27, 2014/ Afternoon
I think Celestia feels bad about what happened yesterday, so she takes us all out to a burger joint for lunch.
While everyone else is ordering, I pick out a seat. Minutes later, I’m joined by Tiara.
“Hey.” she says. “I just wanted to say thanks.”
I give her a look. “Thanks…for what?”
She traces circles on the table with her finger. “Thanks for telling me about how bad I used to be. If you hadn’t, I would still be making fun of Twist and everyone else in the dorm.”
I shrug. “I’m just glad you decided to change. Most other people wouldn’t even care. But you’re different.”
She smiles. “Hey, Sweetie Belle?”
“Yeah?”
“I know this may sound weird, but…will you help me find a boyfriend?”
I start coughing and hacking. “I’m sorry but…what?”
She blushes. “Well…y’see…I’ve been trying to get a guy to notice me for about two years. And, on your first day of school, you pick up someone.”
I facepalm. “Okay. Yeah, I see your point.”
She claps her hands together. “Great! So…will you be my wingman?”
I shake my head. “Wingwoman .”

Since we got burgers for a late lunch, we skipped dinner. It sorta pissed me off, because tonight’s pizza night. Oh well.
Everyone in the dorm spends the rest of the night finishing up the Madoka Magica series, then conking out on the couches.

Also, we have school again today. Even though we’ll just be off again for New Years.

Sure, Tiara forgave me AND promised to change her ways. What’ll Button do?
Also, at lunch today, I have to help Tiara find a boyfriend, which we all know WON’T BE EASY.
I run downstairs and trip over a cat. It's a cute cat; it's all black except for a crescent shaped bald spot on it's head. It hisses at me and runs upstairs. Did one of the girls adopt a cat? I shrug and eat a quick breakfast, then head to the school.
Monday, December 30, 2014/ Lunch
Today, Tiara is waiting outside the cafeteria for me.
“Alright!” I say, clapping my hands together. “Let’s do this!”
I take a good look at all the boys in the cafeteria - the only ones that are really good looking are a boy with gray skin, black hair, and purple eyes, and one blue haired boy with a guitar. He looks a bit older than us, though…
“Hey,” I say, pointing to the gray boy. “He’s sorta cute.”
Tiara snorts. “Yeah…that’s Rumble.”
My eyes bug out. “Woah…how did Scootaloo get a guy like that?”
Tiara shrugs. “I've thought about it for over a year. There’s just no logical explanation.”
I tap my chin. “Hm…how ‘bout that hot blue haired boy? Y’know, the one with the guitar.”
Tiara grabs me by my shoulders and shakes me violently, before letting go after ten minutes. “ARE YOU INSANE?!”
I grab a pillar to steady myself. “I must be…”
Tiara glares at the boy, who, I now notice, is sitting with a girl who has red-orange hair and an awesome leather jacket…crap…
Tiara hisses. “The boy is Flash Sentry. He’s been dating that girl, Sunset Shimmer, for the longest time. Everybody’s saying that he’s too afraid to break up with her.”
I steal a glance towards their table. “Why is he afraid, exactly?”
Tiara facepalms. “Oh my god, Belle… you are SOOO slow. Sunset basically RUNS this school. She does what she wants. She controls what she wants. And if anyone stands in her way…”
Tiara turns away for a minute, then faces me again with a look of fear in her eyes. She says dramatically, “She CRUSHES THEM.”
She looks back at Sunset, then sucks in a breath really quick. “We’ve been spotted! RUN! HIDE!!!”
She takes off out of the cafeteria. I slowly walk to the bathrooms to find her, ignoring all the strange stares I’ve received from my friend.
Monday, December 30, 2014/ After School
I don’t have that much homework tonight, so I decide to kill some time at the mall.
Thankfully, Button didn’t come to class today, so I didn’t have to see him. I spotted him in the halls a couple of times, so I made sure to keep my distance.
I don’t know if I can hold out for much longer, though, because it feels like I’m about to explode with fiery guilt.
Today, I mainly just wander around and drown my sorrows with tasty low-fat pastries.
Then I see something interesting. Button is in another jewelry shop called The Crystal Empire. Buying an emerald heart necklace. Oh. Em. JEEZLES!!!
I quickly sneak in and hide behind a rack of jewel-woven clothes, and peek out at him from an amethyst poncho.
“Can I help you?” someone asks, making me jump. I turn, and see a salesperson towering above me. And he’s cute.
“Oh…hey there…hi…” I say nervously, trying to hide my intense blush. He’s got shoulder-length dark blue hair with sky blue streaks, pure white skin, and piercing ice blue eyes. Eyes that know all…
“Are you loitering? I have the authority to kick you out. And I WILL kick you out. Don’t think you can be spared just because you’re a girl…”
I feel tears coming to my eyes, when suddenly, someone yells, “SHINING!!!”
I light pink skinned girl with buttery yellow, pink, and purple hair comes to my rescue.
“Shining, what have I told you about terrorizing the customers?”
He rubs the back of his neck. “Sorry, Cadance…”
She runs a hand through her hair. “Shining, it was one thing when you drove out Sombra from buying my store, but it’s another thing when you start yelling at teenage kids for no reason.”
While those two are arguing, I peek back out to the cashier. Button is gone. Dang it!
I rush out of the store and look around. I barely catch sight of Button’s propeller beanie going into a clothing store. So, naturally, I start to follow him, like I did that one time near Christmas. It’s NOT STALKING.
I sneak into the store and head down the back aisle and start to curve around the front.
Then, out of nowhere, a girl comes running from around the corner, smashing into me, and knocking both myself and the clothing rack over.
And to add insult to injury, the girl steps on me before leaving.
When I look up, guess who’s right above me? Button!
“Sweetie…?” he asks, tears welling up in his eyes.
My phone starts ringing. I want to get it, but I’m in too much pain…
“Hey there, Button…! This may sound weird, but…would you mind getting my phone for me?”
He starts blushing insanely as he reaches into my back pocket for the blaring demon seed.
He grabs it quickly, answers it, and puts it on speaker phone.
“It says it’s a call from Silver Spoon.” he gives a confused look.
Why would she be calling me? Wait, why do I even have her phone number? Whatever.
“Hello? Hello, Sweetie Belle, is that you?” Celestia asks, which confuses me.
“Celestia? Why are you calling on Silver’s phone? What happened?”
No response for a good two minutes. “Sweetie, you should get home quick. The dorm…it’s just been robbed.”
“Sweetie, you should get home quick. The dorm…it’s just been robbed.” Celestia tells me.
HO. LY. SHIZBALLS! WHAT KIND OF SICKO WOULD ROB A DORM?!
“I’m on my way.” I tell her before hanging up the phone.
I ignore the pain from when the girl shoved onto the clothing rack, and I pick myself up. Then, I turn and bolt out of the store.
“SWEETIE, WAIT!!!” Button calls after me.
I don’t wait. Obviously.
I run out of the mall, through the city, past the school, and to the dorm.
Outside, there’s an ambulance and a couple of cop cars. The doctors are struggling to pull that cot thing out of the back.
My friends and Celestia are all standing around something…I rush over, and see Silver Spoon lying on the ground.
“What happened?!” I almost shriek.
Celestia pushes everyone out of the way, and the doctors put Silver on the cot. Then, they bring her up into the ambulance and drive away.
Celestia leads us all inside the dorm. “I’m sure it’s safe in here now…” she muttered.
We all sit in the living room and face Celestia.
“What happened?” Tiara asks in a menacing tone.
Celestia wrings her hands in her lap. “I’m not entirely sure myself…when I came home from the school, only Silver Spoon was here. I asked if she would be fine for a while, because I had to go grocery shopping and was pretty sure she didn’t want to come with. So, she said she would be fine, and I left. When I was about halfway through my shopping, a had this feeling deep inside of me that something was wrong. I tried to shake it off, and it worked for about twenty minutes. Then, when the feeling was almost gone, and came shooting back through me like a boomerang. I dropped everything that I had grabbed and ran out of the store as fast as I could. When I got back, there was a huge hole in the window-”
She points to the window that’s nearest to the door, which barely has any glass left in it. I wince.
She continues. “And when I opened the door, Silver Spoon was lying on the ground, knocked out. I called the police and the ambulance, then I called you four.”
It’s silent in the dorm for a minute.
“Do we know who robbed the dorm?” Scootaloo asked.
Celestia shook her head. “No. I tried to get Silver Spoon to talk, but she only muttered incoherently… wait, at one point, she muttered something about the robber having two-toned red and orange hair…”
“SUNSET SHIMMER!!!” I scream. Everyone turns to face me.
“...Whut?” Apple Bloom asks.
“Me and Tiara saw Sunset Shimmer at lunch… I said that maybe she should start dating that blue-haired dude, Flash Sentry, but Tiara said that Sunset was dating him. Then, she glared at us. I think she heard us.”
“I highly doubt Sunset Shimmer would rob the dorm just because you suggested Diamond dating her boyfriend. Plus, there are tons of people in Canterlot who have two-toned red and orange hair…probably…” Celestia concludes.
Someone knocks on the door.
“THE ROBBERS HAVE COME BACK!!!” Tiara shrieks, diving behind the couch and peeking out.
“What kind of robber would knock on the door?” I ask, as Celestia answers it.
“Why, hello, Button! Whatever are you doing here?” She asks. I freeze.
“I’m here to see Sweetie Belle.” he says quietly.
“Well, come on in!” she leads him into the living room.
He takes a seat across from me.
Silence for about fifteen minutes.
“Why don’t you two go upstairs to talk?” Celestia suggests.
As we head up the stairs, Celestia calls- “And be mature about it!”
We head into my room, and take a seat on my bed.
“I’m sorry.” he blurts out. “I shouldn’t have let Tiara flirt with me like that…I didn't even realize that she was...”
I cut him off with a kiss to his cheek. “It’s all right.” It feels like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders.
Button looks at me. “Really? I mean, I felt terrible! So terrible, in fact, that I threw up a couple of times when I got home.”
I make a face. “TMI, Button. TMI.”
He twirls his fingers in his lap. “It’s just…you’re the prettiest girl I’ve ever met, and you’re also the nicest…I’m such an idiot, aren’t I? We’re not even dating, and I’m already afraid of losing you!”
I look at the floor. “....Well…we could be dating, if you want…”
Button nods. “I…I’d like that. Oh, wait! I have something for this!” He digs around in his back pocket, then brings out a small box.
He gives it to me. I open it…
Inside, there’s an emerald heart necklace.
I gasp. “Button… you didn't have to get me this!”
He nods again. “Yes, I did. You deserve it. I really like you, Belle. You are the most awesome person I've ever met!”
I hug him. “Thanks, Button.”
“D'AAAAAWWWWWW!!!” I hear from outside.
“Not again…” I mumble. I rush over and open the door, just in time to see Twist and Tiara rushing away.
“DO IT AGAIN, AND YOU DIE!!!” I yell after them.
“Sorry about that.” I say to Button as I close the door again. “Everyone here is obsessed with romance.”
He smirks. “So I noticed.”
We both head downstairs, and Button leaves. I spend the rest of the night showing off my emerald heart necklace. Tomorrow, we’re going to visit Silver in the hospital.

Today is New Year’s Eve. We don’t have school.
Seems odd, doesn’t it? Having school for one day, then going back on break? I told Celestia about this, and she said she would fix it for next year.
At breakfast, we get a surprise: a blue-skinned woman with two-toned blue wavy hair enters the dorm, carrying a large tweed bag.
“Greetings, everyone.” she says. When she catches sight of Celestia, she yells, “TIA!!!” and runs to hug her.
“LULU!!!” Celestia yells, returning the hug.
“Whut?” Apple Bloom asks.
“Girls, this is my sister, Vice-Principal Luna. She will be serving as your dorm manager.”
“NOOOOOOO!!!” Scootaloo throws her head back and howls madly at the ceiling. Tiara snickers.
“Should I be concerned?” Luna asks, setting her bag down.
“No.” Celestia replies blandly.
“What wath that about, Thootaloo?” Twist asks.
“Celestia was the best dorm manager EVER!” Scootaloo explains.
Celestia laughs. “Well, Luna will be TWICE as fun as me. I’m sure of it.”
Luna digs around in her bag, then pulls out something. “I brought gory video games.”
Scootaloo gives her two thumbs up. “INSTA-FAVE!!!”
Celestia facepalms. “Lulu, you told me that you got rid of all of those.”
Luna squirms a bit. “Yeah, well…I lied.”
Celestia sighs. “That’s my cue to split.”
After she leaves, Luna lifts up the video game again. “Who wants to play first?”
“ME!!! MEEEEE!!!” Scootaloo shrieks, waving her hand around in the air like a mental person. “PICK ME!!! PIIIIIIIIICK MEEEEEEEE!!!”
Luna points to Scootaloo. “I choose the overly-exuberant child.”
“YESSS!!!” Scootaloo pulls two victory fists. “OOOOH!!! SUCK IT, DWEEBS!!!”
“Get your head outta your ass.” Tiara mutters.
I giggle. “This is too good to miss! I’m gonna see if Button can come over!”
I race upstairs and call him. He says he’ll be over in a couple of minutes.
When I go back downstairs, Luna and Scootaloo are locked in a death battle.
“HUZZAH!!!” Luna cheers. “I HAVE EXPLODED THOU!!!”
“DAMN IT!!!” Scootaloo snarls, dropping the controller. “Damn damn damn damn damn damn damn!”
“Another round, chump?” Luna says, going a tad bit gangster.
“Eh, why not?” Scootaloo picks her controller back up and the process repeats.
When Button gets here, it starts snowing again.
After Luna and Celestia finish their game, we all watch this weird movie. I don’t...know why we picked this out. This is just…
This is a perfect way to spend New Year’s Eve. Hanging out with my friends, my dorm manager...my boyfriend…
I've only been here for a little less than two weeks, and these people already mean so much to me...I wouldn't trade them for the world.

I wake up from a comfortable sleep when someone...no, lots of people , start giggling.
"Nn...wha?"
"Damn, Tiara! You laughed too loud!"
"Wha's goig od?" I say, sitting up a little bit. "Why are you all here?"
"We live here." Tiara says. "You should know that."
"Do us a little favor and look to your left, would you?"
I glance to my left. Button is curled up next to me. I scream.
"Ugh, wha...Mom, are you okay?" He blinks a couple of times. "Where's mom?"
"You spent the night at our dorm." Scootaloo informs him.
"Oh..." He looks over at me. "Hi, Sweetie Belle."
Wednesday, January 1, 2015/ Afternoon
After lunch, Button goes home and Luna decides to take us to the hospital to visit Silver Spoon.
"We told her we would visit her yesterday." Tiara says. "Don't you think she'll be mad that we forgot about her?"
"We didn't forget about her." Scootaloo says. "We can just tell her that we were busy."
"That'th really thcummy." Twist says.
"Like I care. Besides, today's New Year's. She should be happy that we're visiting today."
When we get to the hospital, Luna has a small misunderstanding with one of the nurses. Once Luna convinces her that we're not in a gang, she lets us visit Silver.
Silver's condition isn't that bad. Her wrist is sprained, she has a few bumps and bruises, but that's the majority of it.
"Hello there, Ms. Spoon." Luna says, kneeling down beside Silver's hospital bed. "I'm the new dorm manager, Vice Principal Luna. Also Principal Celestia's younger sister." She stuck her hand out. "Nice to meet you."
Silver rolled her eyes. "I can't shake. My wrist is sprained."
"Your other hand is fine."
"Yes, but it's holding my food tray."
"Right." Luna stands back up. "Do you have any information regarding the robber?"
Silver tenses up for a second, then relaxes. "N-no. I don't remember anything about the robber."
"You mentioned t' Principal Celestia that th' robber had red an' orange hair, didn't ya?" Apple Bloom asks curiously.
Silver shakes her head really fast. "Nuh-uh! I didn't see her - him or her at all!" She laughs nervously. "I didn't see anyone! One second I was just sitting on the couch, minding my own business, and then BAM!!! They attack me!"
"Calm down!" Scootaloo says.
"I'm perfectly calm!"
Luna narrows her eyes. "And you're sure that that's really what happened?"
"Yup!" Silver coughs a couple of times, then sips her soup. "So, how's the window?" Her voice finally sounds normal again.
"We patched it up with cardboard." Luna replies. "I'm finding someone to replace it. Also," She looks at all of us. "The dorm is being added to. I'm going to force Tia to add a new floor. I don't know if you've noticed, but I'm currently sleeping on the couch."
"What will we do while they're adding the new floor?" Tiara asks.
"We'll figure something out." Luna says.
"That's what the Donner Party said." Silver mumbles. She sighs. "I'm being discharged from the hospital tomorrow. You'd better figure something out quick."

The rest of the night is pretty uneventful. I eat dinner and go to bed. Just before I fall asleep, I get this nagging feeling like Silver is hiding the identity of the robber from us...

“Why?” Apple Bloom replies blandly. “Why can’t ya do it yerself?”
“So none of you end up like that poor Silver Spoon girl.” Luna looks worriedly around the table.
“This is gonna be a drag.” Scootaloo says as she bites an apple. “Can I bring my scooter along?”
“I don’t see why not.”
“May I ride it in the store and agitate old people?”
“Certainly not.”

Thursday, January 2, 2015/ Afternoon
Apparently, Luna has a large, brown van.
Not a minivan. A van van.
On the way to the store, me, Apple Bloom, Scootaloo, and Tiara all decide to let Luna and Twist do the shopping.
So, like at the Christmas tree lot, we play a massive game of hide and seek.
Whenever I play those games, if I’m not one of the first person out, I start to panic and freak out whenever someone passes by.
Today, when Apple Bloom comes around into my aisle, I climb up the shelves to avoid her.
I end up having to hop to the other side and run for my life when the shelves start to tip over.
As I exit the store with Luna and everyone else, I quietly say, “What kind of grocery store doesn’t attach those things to the ground?”

Dinner is sushi. I have no idea WHAT Apple Bloom put in it, exactly, because it tastes TERRIBLE.
“So, Sweetie… Button’s birthday is tomorrow…planning any…surprises?” Tiara asks me.
I nod. “Yup! I’m going to throw him a super great party, with cake, and…ohhhh, you meant THAT kind of surprise…god no.”
Twist looks at me. “Cake? There’ll be cake?”
I nod.
“I could hide in the cake, ith you want. Jump out when he’th leath expthecting it.”
“Uh, no. But that was a very nice offer, Twist!”
“Your loth.”
I roll my eyes. “...How?”

After dinner I step out of the dorm and head into downtown Canterlot. I don’t know why, but I have this strange urge to be there…
I step into this cute little jewelry shop, I’m greeted by a little old woman.
“Hello there, child.” she says. “We’re having a sale right now. Would you like to buy anything?”
I shrug. “Maybe. I don’t really know.”
She nods and walks away.
I pick up a pretty diamond ring.
“Hey,” I call to the woman. “May I try this on?”
She snickers, then nods without looking at me.
Strange. I say to myself as I slide the ring onto my finger. Instantly, all of my energy is sucked out of my body. Ugh...what?
The old woman cackles. “Foolish children!” she screeches. “You all make it so EASY for me!”
Next thing I know, she grabs me by the neck and hoists me up in the air.
The door opens. The woman swivels around so I can’t see what’s happening.
“Trying to kill innocent children through jewelry? We won’t stand for it!” the voice sounds really familiar…
“I, Sailor Leo, pretty guardian of the Sun and Fire…”
“And I, Sailor Cancer, guardian of the high winds and Knowledge…”
“WILL BRING AN END TO YOU!!!”
The woman drops me. I clutch my neck lightly and cough. I turn and see two girls in sailor suits facing the old lady.
Wait a minute…are they…?
SCOOTALOO AND APPLE BLOOM?!
“So, you’ve finally come, you pesky sailor guardians!” the woman hisses. “I’ve been eagerly awaiting your arrival!”
She sends out a blast of what can only be called magic at my two friends. It strikes Apple Bloom square in the chest, sending her flying back into one of the jewelry cases.
No. No. No! “NOOOOOO!” a shriek escapes my throat. I lunge forward at the woman, and a blast of smoke surrounds me…
...I’m just as surprised as everyone else when the smoke clears away.
I’m standing tall in the center of the room, wearing a light pink sailor suit, knee-high light pink skin tight boots with pink spikes on the side. A blue bow is in the center of the shirt, and on the bow is a shiny, light-pink brooch. I’m also wearing bright white gloves that come up to my elbows. My hair is pulled up into pigtails high up on my head, tied up with poofy pink bows. Near the bows are bright red jewels. On my forehead is one of those triangular tiaras that Sailor Moon wears...
“Oh,” I murmur. “This is…”
I stand up straight and look at the woman. “I, Sailor Taurus, guardian of Love and Justice, will bring an end to you!”
I adjust the gem in the tiara and yell: “VENUS LOVE FLASH!!!”
A blinding light seeps out of the tiara. The woman disappears with it.
I drop to the ground, panting.
“Sweetie Belle!” Scootaloo rushes over to me. “I don’t believe it! You're an ally..?”
I look over to wear Apple Bloom is lying. “...Scootaloo, we’ll worry about that later…”
I adjust my tiara again. “Love Healing Escalation.”
Apple Bloom’s wounds close up, and she opens her eyes.
“Sweetie Belle…?” she asks quietly. “What the…?”
“YOU TWO!” Someone screams.
A black cat with a crescent shaped bald-spot on it’s forehead enters through a hole in the window. “Tell me before you run off like that!”
I point at the cat. “...Did that cat just talk?”
“Luna!” Scootaloo rushes over and scoops the cat up. “Hey, sorry…”
Luna catches sight of me and smiles. “Ah, a new guardian! Welcome to the group, Sailor Taurus!” she hops out of Scootaloo’s arms and walks towards me. “And, by the looks of it…you’re to be the leader of all the guardians!”
I start to cough. “I’m sorry but…what?! Sailor guardian?! I thought that was just made up! ...No, I want to be a normal girl! Why me? Why me? Why me?!”
Luna places a paw on my hand. “Stay calm, Belle. It appears you’ve been made a guardian for one sole purpose…you want to protect Button Mash, right?”
How does she know about that? “...Now that I’ve seen those…enemies? I not only want to protect Button, but everyone else I can!”
She nods. “Good. That’s the mark of a true guardian. Now, pick me up. I’ll be moving in with you girls.”
I pick Luna up and put her on my shoulders. “It’s gonna be REALLY confusing with two Lunas in the dorm.”
We all head back to the dorm.
“Luna, how do I un-transform?”
She points to the brooch. “Just touch that.”
I do, and the sailor suit is replaced by my normal clothes.
I look at my two friends. “Where are your brooches?”
Scootaloo rubs the back of her neck. “We don’t…have brooches…”
“We have pens. That we use t' transform.” Apple Bloom says.
“The brooch is only for the leader.” Luna explains. “That’s how I knew you were the leader.”
“Oh.”
Vice-Principal Luna opens the door. “WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?! YOU THINK YOU CAN JUST RUN OUT OF HERE WITHOUT TELLING ME WHERE YOU'RE GOING?! BOTH OF YOU ARE ON HOUSE ARREST!!!” she turns to me. “Sweetie Belle, welcome back! I’m so glad that you decided to actually INFORM ME ON YOUR FUTURE WHEREABOUTS!!! By the way, I really like your hair!”
I look up and notice that my hair is still in pigtails.
She looks back at my friends. “GET INSIDE, NOW!!!”
Luckily, she doesn't question the cat riding on my shoulders.
I head upstairs and make a small bed for kitty-Luna before collapsing onto my mattress.

Someone’s pawing at my face…
I open my eyes, and am greeted by a black cat with a crescent-shaped bald on it’s forehead.
It takes a moment for the events of the previous night to flood back.
I’m really Sailor Taurus, the leader of the Sailor Guardians…
“Luna.” I sit up. “Why did I become a guardian? It seems a little strange…I’ve shown no signs of having powers before this…”
Luna sits down next to me. “Well… You're the guardian of Love and Justice, Sailor Taurus…”
I nod. “Yeah, I kinda figured that.”
She gives me a look that suggests that I should keep my mouth shut. “When you saw Apple Bl…Sailor Cancer get knocked down by the enemy, your love for your friend helped you realize that you have the power to save them…and it couldn’t have been a moment too soon! Button’s birthday is today, right?”
Oh yeah…I forgot about that…“Yes…yes, it is.”
She hops down and walks towards the door. “Well…I can’t shake the feeling that something bad is going to happen…just keep your eyes open, alright?”
I open the door and we both head down to breakfast.
I go into the kitchen and pour a bowl of milk for Luna.
She gives it a funny look as I set it down. “What’s this?” she whispers.
“Milk.”
“What, you think that because I’m a cat, I like milk?! That’s racist!” she whisper shouts.
“Racist how?!”
“Cat is my race! Serving me milk is as bad as segregating restaurants!”
“Sweetie Belle? Who are you talking to?” Vice Principal Luna calls from the dining room.
“NOTHING!!!” I yell.
Kitty-Luna bends down and starts lapping up the milk. “This is fine, thanks.”
I roll my eyes and grab a box of cereal.
After breakfast, I meet up with Apple Bloom and Scootaloo in their bedroom.
Apple Bloom sits on the ladder of their bunk bed, while kitty-Luna starts talking.
“Sweetie Belle, I know you're the leader of our group of guardians, but there are still many things you don’t know about. First off: we are on a quest to find our princess and protect her, and also a crystal called the ‘Legendary Golden Crystal’. As you probably guessed, the enemies are also after both of them. It is my theory that a seal has been placed on the princess…so when every guardian is gathered…and you all have fully awoken…the seal might dissolve.”
“Awaken?” Scootaloo asks. “How do we-”
“There are two ways to awaken.” Luna interrupts. “The first is to find your talent. Then, you remember everything. The other way is to just remember everything.”
Scootaloo scrunches up her face. “Um...what?”
Luna rolls her eyes. “Your special talent is one of your links to your past life. When you discover your special talent, you will remember everything from your past life and awaken. Even if you don't find your special talent, you’ll eventually remember everything from your past. Two ways to awaken, you see?” She starts licking her paw. “I recommend going for the first one though. Then you’ll have a talent and your memories.”
She sits next to Scootaloo on the bottom bunk. “Now then! Belle, would you like me to help you plan Button’s party?”
“Oh! Um, alright!” I say happily. “I’ll go call Button to tell him when he should come over.”
I walk into the hallway, pull out my phone, and dial his number. He picks up on the fourth ring.
“Hello? Sweetie Belle, is that you?”
“Yeah, it’s me.” I respond. “Hey, can you come over to the dorm today? We’re throwing you a huge party!”
“...Oh...thanks...but...my mom is already planning a party...didn’t I tell you that?”
“No.” I feel my eyebrows creep together. “I would have remembered.”
“Oh. Well, it’s at that fancy new club. You know, the one that all the pricks go to?”
“Ohhhhhhhhh, The Box ? Yeah, I know about it.” I reply.
“Great! It’s at eight tonight! Everyone in the dorm can come! See you there!”
“You too!”

I’m surprised that Button knows this many people.
There’s at least one hundred...most are probably Button’s mom’s friends…
I finally met Button’s mom. As soon as I walked through the door, she greeted me warmly. Her name is Love Tap.
Anyway, no one seems to care that I’m carrying around a black cat on my shoulders. Good. It shall remain that way.
I approach the punch table, where Button is hanging around.
“Hey.” I say to him.
He nods without looking up. “...Hey.”
I look around for a minute. “...So...cool party, Button.”
He shrugs. “It’s not as cool as I thought it would be.” He takes a good look at Luna. “I like your cat.”
He sets his glass of punch down on the table. “Sorry, I have to go to the bathroom.”
Strangely, he walks in the opposite direction of the bathrooms.
Luna starts wapping me in the back of the head with her tail. “That’s strange…” she murmurs. “I smell the enemy…Sweetie Belle, take me to Scootaloo and Apple Bloom.”
My eyes search the sea of dancing people, before I finally spot them dancing in a corner by themselves.
“Girls!” Luna says when I walk her over to my friends. “Report!”
Scootaloo salutes. “Nothing yet, Miss Luna! We will keep our eyes open, though!”
Luna nods. “Good…” She looks at me. “Belle, put me down. Scootaloo will carry me now.”
I hand the cat over to my friend.
Luna curls up on Scootaloo’s shoulders. “Belle, you can have go some fun. We’ll contact you if anything comes up.”
I nod. “Will do.”
I head back over to the punch table and eat my fill of cupcakes.
In the direction that Button ran off, there’s a blond guy glaring at me…he sticks his hand out in front of him and…
My legs start moving on their own…he leads me up a flight of stairs and onto the roof…
“SWEETIE BELLE, WHAT ARE YOU DOING!? HE’S THE ENEMY!!!” Cancer and Leo come up the stairs. “TRANSFORM!!!”
“Okay!” I touch my brooch. “Love power…MAKEUP!!!”
The dude sneers. “Elch, sailor guardians! I thought you wouldn’t show up!” He grabs me by the neck and lifts me up in the air, just like the old lady did. Why's it always the throat? I think.
“Where is it?” the man snarls. “‘The Legendary Silver Crystal’! Where is it?!”
“Put her down!” Someone from below tackles the guy. He releases my throat, and I start to fall. It’s only a couple of feet, but the roof is cement and looks painful.
I brace myself for impact…
But someone catches me. I look at up the person’s face…
He’s wearing a white mask, a tuxedo, a black top hat which hides most of his ginger hair, and a large red cape.
He’s like the famous thief Lupin. I think as I stare at his face. How wonderful!
“Staring is rude.” he says as he puts me down. “Also, you're welcome.”
I bow. “Thank you…”
“Button Mask. That’s my name.” he says. “Now, go defeat that guy.”
He twists his cape around his body and disappears.
The blond guy comes at me fast. “Now that you’re done flirting…” He pushes me backwards. I trip over something and start to fall again…
I’m falling off the side of the building. Someone grabs my wrist…
Button Mask. How does he do this?
He starts slipping.
“TAURUS!!!” Leo shrieks. “TAKE THIS!” She tosses something small through the air...a pen?
I catch it just as Button Mask starts to fall over the side.
The pen elongates into a white, lacy parasol, and me and Button Mask land safely on the ground.
He tips his hat at me. “Thank you, Sailor Taurus.”
I feel a blush start to play on my cheeks. “Oh…um, you’re welcome!”
I look at the parasol as it transforms back into a pen. “I wonder…” I toss the pen back into the air, and it turns into a rope, latching at the top of the building. I climb as quick as I can, then toss the pen back to Scootaloo.
"LOVE AND BEAUTY CHAIN!" I yell, a chain made of red and pink heart beads appearing in my hand. I whip him in the side of the face. Hard.
"LEO FLAME SNIPER!"
"CANCER WIND SERENITA!"
The enemy shrieks and disintegrates.
"What..."
"Button Mask? Thank-" I turn, but don't see him anywhere. "-You..."
Friday, January 3, 2015/ Midnight
I'm about ready to collapse after we get back from Button's party. After we defeated the enemy, we returned to the party as if nothing had happened.
I get under the covers and am just about to turn off the lamp when Kitty-Luna walks in.
"Good job handling that enemy today." Luna congratulates me.
"Thanks."
I look at the crescent shaped bald spot on her head. I've noticed it before, but I've never really...looked at it. The moon seems out of place...like it doesn't belong...
"Hey, Luna?"
"Yes?"
"The princess we're searching for...where is she from?"
Luna laughs. "Where do you think she's from? The moo-" Luna stops mid-sentence. "The...moon...right? Why...why can't I remember? She has to be from the moon, but..." Luna puts her fore paw to her mouth. "No...this isn't right..."
My eyes narrow. "That's what I thought." I turn out the light.

For some reason, everyone today is acting...distant from me. Not any of my friends, though. They're the same as always, but everyone else is...different.
At lunch, Sunset Shimmer keeps glancing at me, snickering.
"What's going on?" I ask my friends.
"She hathen't theen it yet?" Twist asks Tiara. "She hathen't theen it yet!"
"Seen what?"
Tiara pulls something up on her phone. "This."
There's a video of me and Button walking down the street together. The sound has been cleared from the video and replaced with mock impressions of ourselves.
The person who made the video is saying some...highly inappropriate things.
"This video was taken on my first day at this school!" I realize. "Why did she just now post this online?"
"Whut makes ya think it's a her?" Apple Bloom asks. "Sounds like a boy t' me."
"It's a boy's voice, but who's saying that he's the one who came up with this idea?" I ask. "I think Sunset Shimmer did this."
"Why would she, though?" Tiara gasps. "It's all my fault! You suggested that I should date Flash! She must have heard you!" Tiara bursts into tears. "It's all my fault!"
"Um...what you just said places the blame on me, not you."
"Yeah, but I caused all of this because I was lonely!"
"Alright, I'm done with this." I pick up my stuff. "Come on. Let's go to Celestia."
"No!" Tiara whines. "Sunset might make our life worse if we tell Celestia!"
"My life is the one that's ruined Tiara, not yours. And I don't care if it makes it worse, we have to do something. "
Tiara sniffs. "Well...alright."
We all grab our stuff and head over to the Celestia's office.
"Oh, hello girls!" She says when we open the door. "What's the matter?"
Wordlessly, Tiara pulls up the video again.
"Oh...oh my." Celestia covers her mouth. "That...is not great."
"No, really?" Tiara rolls her eyes.
"Di..."
"Sorry, sorry!" She puts her phone away.
"Do you have any idea who could have done this?" Celestia asks.
"Sunset Shimmer." I reply. "I'm not entirely certain, but I'm pretty sure it was her."
"The voice in the video was male."
"She could have lackeys that carried this plan out for her." I say. "I mean, she has a distinct voice, so we'd be able to tell if it was her in the video. But almost all the guys at this school, well...they sound the same. For the most part."
"Hm..." Celestia thinks it over. "I'm afraid I can't do anything until you get more proof."
"Damn." Scootaloo breathes.
"Watch your mouth." Celestia says sternly. She turns back to me. "Try your hardest to get more proof, alright?"
I nod.
She smiles. "Alright. Thank you for the notification about this situation."
We all leave.
"Well," Scootaloo says glumly, blowing on her bangs. "That was a bust."
"Yeah..."

My mind keeps replaying the image of the sun emblems in Celestia's office. They seem really familiar...
Luna is still deep in thought about the princess. She hasn't moved from her bed all day.
I write down all the possible places I could have seen the emblem, which helps me feel a little bit better. I shut the light off and go to sleep.

"Nng. Wha...?" I open my eyes.
Luna smiles a toothy grin. "Mornin'!"
"Ugh." I pick up the black cat and relocate her so I can sit up. "Luna, did you figure out anything about the princess?"
Luna takes a deep breath. "My memory...is somewhat clouded." She admits. "I...I don't know why, but..." She sighs. "It feels like the princess should be from the moon, but...I can't quite recall if that's true or not..."
"She has to be from the moon, right?" I ask, rubbing her on the head. "You're name is Luna. Would it really be Luna if you weren't from the moon?"
She laughs. "Good point."
I yawn. "Hey, Luna?"
"Yeah?"
"Have you seen this emblem before?" I pick up a pad of paper and a pen from my nightstand, and I do my best to draw the emblem Celestia has in her office.
"Of course." Luna says. "That's the symbol your dorm manager's older sister always put on everything, right?" Luna ducks her head suddenly and yowls.
"Luna?! What's wrong?!"
"I...I..." She yowls again. "Agh...my head hurts...it hurts so bad!"
"Ohgodohgodohgod, what do I do?!"
"You can't...do anything...Belle..." She hisses. "I'm....remembering...something..." She falls over to the side and sighs.
I wait a few minutes before speaking. "Luna?"
"Yeah, Belle?"
"Are you okay now?"
"Yes. Yes Belle, I'm okay now."
"Oh good." I get out of my bed. "What was it...you were remembering?"
"I don't know." she replies. "I didn't...I couldn't..." she sighs. "Just...don't worry about it, Belle. I'm alright now."
"O-okay..."
Saturday, January 5, 2015/ Afternoon
Today has been pretty uneventful. I spend the day in my room playing on my phone and occaisionally wandering downstairs for food. All the while, that Button Mask from the other night is on my mind...
Oh crap. How could I forget? I already have a boyfriend. And I...really like him. So why...? Button Mask seems really familiar, though...like I've known him my whole life. I drift into a really, really uneasy sleep.
Eos! Eos, where are you?
Another one of these? I think. Who is Eos? I try to yell. Instead, what comes out of my mouth is, Tithonus, can you hear me?
Follow the sound of my voice, Eos!
Tithonus, I...I can't! White light appears all around me and sucks me in. TITHONUS!!!
I sit up in bed, drenched in sweat and panting. Evening fell long ago, though it felt like I had only been under for a few moments. Memories of the dream are rapidly fading away into nothing. I can only remember one name...
"Tithonus..."
"Belle?" Kitty-Luna walks into my room. "Dear, are you alright? You look very...shooken up."
"I'm fine." I reply. "Just had a...nightmare, is all."
"I see." Luna eyes me for a moment. "Have you, by any chance...remembered anything yet? From your past life?"
"I..." After a moment, I shake my head. "No. Nothing."
"Hm..." Luna nods. "If you do, Belle, you need to tell me right away. Okay?"
I nod back. "Alright."
Luna smiles. "Come along, then! Dinner was called quite a while ago, but no one really felt like coming up to get you..."
"Aw, crap!" Noticing how hungry I am, I leap out of bed and take off for the dining room.
Saturday, January 5, 2015/ Nighttime
The whole dorm gathers in the living room to watch a movie, calledBack to the Past , and Luna makes popcorn smothered in butter. Kitty-Luna curls up in my lap and falls asleep. Halfway through the movie, I notice the moon-shaped bald spot on her head...glowing.
Could she be...remembering something? I ask myself.
After the movie, we all turn in.
Sunday, January 6, 2015/ Morning
I awake to a beautiful sunny light from the window.
"Nn..." I stretch and look over to the bed I made for Kitty-Luna, where she's sleeping peacefully. Her bald spot is still glowing.
"Creepy." I say to myself. I slide off the bed and poke the cat in the side. "Luna. Wake up."
"Mmm..." she purrs. "Helios..."
I pull my hand back. "...What?" I stare for a moment. "Helios?" He was the greek god of the...sun...right? So why is Luna, who's from the moon, muttering his name in her sleep?
For a brief moment, the moon symbol on her head morphs into a sun.
"LUNA!" I yell. She bolts upright, and the sun changes back to a moon.
"Belle..." she rubs her eyes with a paw. "What is it?"
"Your bald spot..." I say shakily.
"For the last time, Belle, it is not a bald spot."
"...it changed..."
"I-" Luna stops, mid-sentence, and stares at me. "It...what?"
"Your blad spot, Luna. It changed." I say. "It changed. To a...a sun."
Luna collapses.
"LUNA!" I shriek. I get up and bolt downstairs, where the rest of the dorm is eating breakfast.
"Guys, you have to help me!" I yell. "My cat...she just collapsed!"
Luna gets up from the table. "Your cat collapsed?"
"Yes!"
"Luna!" Scootaloo yells.
"What?"
"That's the cat's name!" Scootaloo says frantically. "We have to help her!"
Luna bolts upstairs. Moments later, she comes back downstairs with Kitty-Luna. "Vet." She says, rushing out to the van.
We all follow her and pile into the van, and Luna takes us to a veteranarian's office that always accepts animals, even without an appointment.
We take Kitty-Luna inside; Luna spends a moment talking heatedly to the woman at the front desk. After that, a man in a lab coat comes and takes Kitty-Luna to a room; Luna follows them.
"Luna..." I whimper.
"She'll be okay," Apple Bloom says. "Ah once saw er' get smashed inta the side o' a brick wall, an' it dinnit even faze er'. She'll be a'right."
"But this isn't a brick wall," I say, somehow finding my calmness. "Something might have taken her down froom the inside."
"When was the cat thrown at a brick wall?" Tiara asks.
"Oh, uh..." Apple Bloom smiles sheepishly. "Ya weren't there."
"Oh."
The man in the lab coat comes back out, holding a clipboard. "It was just a minor seizure." He tells us. "I just prodded her a little bit, and she woke right up."
"Prodded-" Scootaloo gives him an angry look.
"I ran a few tests just to make sure nothing was really wrong, and sure enough, she's just fine." The vet smiles right at me. "So no worries."
"Y-yeah," I say, forcing a smile at him. "N-no worries."
"I'm Hiro Iwasaki, by the way." He says this to everyone this time. "Nice to meet you."
"Is that a...Neighponese name?" Tiara asks.
He smiles. "Why yes, it is."
Tiara's face instantly brightens. "I love basically EVERYTHING Neighponese!" She says in a disgusting, sugary voice. "The language, the culture, the anime..."
"I see we have a lot in common." He touches the edge of the clipboard to his chin. "How...interesting."
Chills go down my spine. A few minutes later, Luna comes out holding Kitty-Luna, who is awake and bright-eyed now. "Nyaaaa!" She meows when she sees me, hopping out of Luna's arms and rubbing against my legs.
I pick her up and look her in the eyes. "...Luna?"
She stares back for a moment, then closes her eyes and smiles. "Nyaaaaaaaaaaa!"
Hiro smiles. "You know, I normally am not quite fond of cats. But for some reason, I find this one quite adorable." He reaches over and traces the moon spot on her forehead. "I find this especially interesting."
Luna recoils and hisses.
He laughs. "Alright, well you had better be getting home now."
Saturday, January 5, 2015/ Evening
"Hey, Sweetie Belle?" Someone knocks on my bedroom door.
"Come in."
Tiara comes in, smiling excitedly. "I think that Hiro guy likes me!"
I look up from my phone. "...What?"
"You saw how he was looking at me, right?" Tiara squeals. "He was totally into me!"
"Tiara," I put my phone down and fold my hands in my lap. "You are fourteen. He is either in his early thirties or late twenties."
Tiara blinks. "Yeah. So? That only makes him about ten years older than me. No big deal. There was a couple in Neighpon who were nineteen years apart. This is basically nothing."
"Tiara," I say calmly. "No. Just...no. Snap out of it. He does not have a crush on you."
Tiara sneers. "What do you know, Sweetie Belle?! You don't know the first thing about love! You got together with the first you you ever met, and how long do you think that's going to last? So I'll get to know this guy before I ask him out! And he's going to say yes! Because-" I stand and slap Tiara across the face.
She just stands there, stunned. Then she shakes off the shock and glares at me. "Stupid Belle!" She runs out of the room.
I stare straight ahead for a moment, processing what just happened. I bite my lip. I know exactly what he did...
I rush into Scootaloo and Apple Bloom's room. There, Apple Bloom's typing something up on the computer at her desk, and Kitty-Luna is asleep in Scootaloo's lap.
"Hiro," I say darkly. "Is the enemy."
Scootaloo pokes Luna, and she wakes up. "Mm...what?"
"Hiro is the enemy." I repeat.
"And what makes you say that?" Luna asks, rubbing her eyes.
"He put some weird spell on Tiara so she would fall in love with him and drive us apart." I cross my arms. "Is that enough proof for you? Or do I need to go on?"
"That..." Luna thinks for a minute. "That's a really stupid thing to think." She stands and stretches. "I know he seemed a bit...strange, but honestly, not every strange person is an enemy. You need to accept that, Sweetie Belle."
"But..." I pause. "...She's fallen in love with him!"
"Look, we all know she's lonely as hell," Scootaloo says, turning the page of the manga she's reading. "I'm not surprised that she's fallen in love with a guy who said 'we have a lot in common'. He was probably just being nice. Besides," Scootaloo smirks slightly. "If he does start to go out with her, we can report him to the police."
"Oh yeah..." I lean up against the wall. "That...is actually a better idea."
"But seriously," Scootaloo continues. "I don't think he'll consider going out with her. If he did, there would be something REALLY wrong in his mind."
"Yeah..."
***Diamond Tiara***
"Luna!" I pop my head into the kitchen, where Luna is making dinner. "Can I go out for a while?"
"Where?"
"I want to go meet some of my friends at the mall." This is a lie, of course.
"Don't stay out too long," Luna says after a minute.
"I know." I pull on my fur coat, make sure my tiara is situated properly, then head out. I'm going, of course, to see Hiro.
No, he doesn't know about it; not yet, anyway. I shouldn't have any trouble getting there, though. I mean, the place is open all night, and you don't need an appointment.
It doesn't take long to get there; granted, it probably would have taken a lot longer if I had walked at my normal pace. But I felt like getting there quickly, so I jogged.
"Excuse me, I'm looking for Dr. Hiro please," I tell the receptionist.
She gives me a strange look. "Um...where's your pet?" Geh. Peasants.
"My tiara needs to be treated for rabies," I say, motioning up to the crown on my head.
The woman blinks. "...Ma'am, if you're not going to take our establishment seriously, I'm going to have to ask you to leave..."
"I AM BEING SERIOUS!" I yell, slamming my fist down on the counter. "Why the hell wouldn't I be serious right now?!"
"Ma'am, calm down..."
"NO!" I scream. "Here I am, trying to get my tiara the proper care it needs, and I am being denied the right to do so!"
"Alright, whatever!" The receptionist says loudly. "Just...go sit down on the bench." She prints a number out from the printy thingy and hands it to me. "Go to the back when your number is called." I huff and snatch it out of her hand.
Honestly, peasants these days.
I sit down on the much too cold, much too hard wooden bench and cross my legs angrily. "Stupid peasants," I growl under my breath. "I should have paid my way to the top of the wait list..."
Finally, finally, FINALLY, my number is called and I'm ushered into the office.
"Well, well," Hiro says, leaning up against the table. "I didn't expect to see you here again today, miss."
"Diamond Tiara," I tell him. "My name is Diamond Tiara. I'm sorry I had to tell that receptionist person such a stupid lie, my tiara having rabies..."
"Quite alright," he says, smiling. "A little white lie now and then is okay, isn't it?"
"I TOTALLY agree!"
He chuckles. "Well...Diamond Tiara...if you're not doing anything...I get off in five minutes, if you would like to go get coffee somewhere..."
"OMG, I would, like, LOVE that!"
He laughs again. "Great. So, um..." he claps his hands together lightly. "See you in five?"
"So you grew up in Neighpon, moved over to Canterlot when you were eighteen, then went to school for four years to become a veterinarian?" I ask, tapping the side of my paper Coffeebucks cup.
Hiro smiles over his cup of steaming coffee. "Yes, that is right. I've always loved animals, so I felt like I should help them."
I clap my hands together. "That is like, sooo cool! I totally admire that."
He chuckles. "Well, thanks, Tiara."
"No prob!" I reply. This is going really well, I say to myself. Hmph! That stupid Sweetie Belle was wrong!
Hiro glances at his watch and grimaces. "Oh dear. I'm...quite sorry, Tiara, but I must be going." He stands and lifts his coat up from the back of his chair. "I really enjoyed this. Next time, shall we get dinner?"
I blink. "Y-yeah, sure!" I say, trying not to sound excited but failing. "Um...when?"
"I'll call you," he says, flashing a smile at me. "Can I...get your number?"
"Y-yes!" I pull a napkin out of the dispenser and write my number on it, then hand it to him. He does the same.
"Shall I drive you home?" He asks.
"Eh...no, I'm alright," I say, smiling. I might get caught if you drive me.
He looks a bit disappointed, but shrugs it off. "Oh well. I look forward to our next meeting. Sayonara," he says, bowing slightly before exiting the coffee shop.
After a few minutes of listening to the background chatter of other people and mulling over what just happened, a smile breaks out across my face.
***Sweetie Belle***
I'm sitting on my bed and reading manga when someone knocks on my door. Before I can respond, Tiara slams the door open and sashays in.
"Tiara!" I set the manga down on my nightstand and roll off the bed. "What the hell?! At least knock first."
"Why?" Tiara sneers. "It's not like you were doing anything inappropriate."
I roll my eyes. "You're right, I wasn't. But still, what you just did was really rude."
"So what?" She shrugs. "BTW, guess who I just went on a date with?"
I narrow my eyes. "...Who?"
"HIRO!" Tiara squeals, holding out her phone and showing me a new phone number in the system. "I told you he was into me! I even got his number!"
"Tiara..." I start. She holds out one of her fingers and puts her other hand on her hip.
"Don't even, Sweetie Belle!" She says. "There's only an eight year age difference between us! That happens in your beloved manga all the time."
"Yeah, because it's a work of fiction. " I say, idly glancing back at the book on my nightstand, then back at Tiara. "This is real life, and that guy is dangerous! "
"HE IS NOT!" Tiara screams. "THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH HIRO!"
"What is the matter?" Vice Principal Luna asks, coming into my room and leaning up against one of my walls. "Who has something wrong with them?"
Tiara covers her mouth, eyes wide. Crap, she seems to say.
"You mean you didn't know?" I ask Luna. Luna just sort of shrugs. I sigh. "Tiara...went out and saw that vet that we met earlier today. She told me she went on a date with him, and even got his phone number."
"Tiara!" Luna's eyes have a mixture of shock and disappointment in them. "Is this true?"
Tiara doesn't respond.
"You told me you were going out to meet some friends at the mall!" Luna says.
"Yeah, well...I lied."
"It is quite obvious that you lied, Diamond Tiara!" Luna glares at the back of her student's head. "I put my trust in you, and you betrayed me!" She shakes her head, looking genuinely hurt. "I'm afraid that I'm going to have to place you on house arrest."
"House...arrest?" Tiara asks, eyes growing dark. And then she turns and bolts out of my room and down the hall. Me and Luna give panicked looks to each other, then take off after her.
"What's going on?" Scootaloo asks, opening the door and nearly smacking me and Luna in the face.
"I've placed Diamond Tiara on house arrest," Luna explains, going around the door. "And now it appears that she's trying to make a break for it! WE MUST TRY TO DETAIN HER!" Scootaloo runs off in front of us, accidentally losing her balance and tumbling down the stairs into the living room.
"Uh...guys? Bad news," she says as we reach the bottom of the staircase. She's pointing behind her, towards the front of the living room.
"Are you alright?" Luna asks, sitting near Scootaloo's head. "Did you hurt anything?" I glance at where Scootaloo had been pointing, and my eyes grow wide.
"Luna," I tap her on the arm. She looks up, and I point to the same thing Scootaloo had been.
The front door was open, the cold winter air blowing in. And Diamond Tiara was gone.

It’s seven days until Christmas. I think that’s the reason my parents sent me to this school, to live in a dorm. Stupid dorms. They spend all of their money on Rarity, and get me whatever the hell they feel like. When I was six, I got a nasty old sock. They claimed it was new and priceless, but when I went down to the dollar store, I noticed that the pile of clothes near a trashcan was missing one of its garments.
The pile had been there for over a year.
I still have that sock. I don’t know why I kept it. I felt like I was making a point, pretending to treasure whatever they give me. But I don’t. I hate that sock. I want to get rid of it, I really do, but I just…can’t.
For a couple of years, it was lying in the bottom of my closet, buried beneath all the other gifts from countless Christmases and birthdays from when my parents might have cared.
Now, the sock is in a plastic bag in my suitcase. From now on, no matter where I go, the sock will come with me. It’s one of my most prized possessions. Even though I hate it.
I’m one of the last ones to exit the train, of course. And, as I scan the platform, I can see that my parents were too lazy to hire anyone to direct me to my dorm.
“You can’t get me a guide, but you can get me a sock.” I mutter under my breath.
Maybe one of these people will give me directions…
I walk over to the nearest person I see, a pale yellowish woman with tacky lavender hair that has a white streak through it. I’m pretty sure it’s a wig. I put on my best smile and tap her on the arm. She turns and looks at me with a disgusted look on her face.
“Excuse me,” I say politely. “Do you know where Canterlot High is?”
She sneers at me. “No. Excuse ME!” she yells in a thick accent. “I can’t have little buckets of filth coming around and…” she shudders. “TOUCHING me!”
I want to be polite. Oh well. “Oh, you poor thing.” I say just as obnoxiously. “SOME of us ‘little buckets of filth’ have to deal with other people touching us all day. I’m pretty sure you can handle a lost little girl tapping you on the arm.” I throw my hands up in the air. “I need help here!”
She turns away from me. “You don’t ask me for help then.” she walks away.
That stupid woman leaves me on the verge of tears.
That’s when I feel two hands plunk down on both of my shoulders.
I spin around, and face a lemon-skinned girl with blue curly hair and big red-pink eyes. She’s wearing a brown tweed mini skirt and knee-high boots that are the same color blue as her hair. She’s wearing a dark purple leather jacket with a white tank top underneath. An emblem, with two blue hearts and one green heart, all swirling past each other, is just barely visible.
“Who are you?” I blurt out.
She blinks and shakes her head, as if snapping out from a trance. “Sorry.” she says, removing her hands from my shoulders.
Awkward silence for about twelve minutes.
“I hear you needed help.” she finally says.
I nod. “Yeah. I’m new here. I have to find Canterlot High.”
She smiles. “Great. I can take you there. I go to that school to.”
I pick up my bags and follow the girl off the platform.
“I’m Lemon Hearts, by the way.” she says.
“Oh. I’m Sweetie Belle.” I reply.
Another awkward silence.
“So. Which dorm are you staying in?”
I look at my schedule. “Um, it says I’m in the northeast dormitory.”
Lemon nods. “Figures. That’s where they dump all of the younger kids.”
“Oh.”
I look at the scenery for a while before talking again. “So, which dorm are you staying at?”
She looks back at me. “Oh, I’m not staying at a dorm. I live in an apartment that’s pretty close to the school.”
She stops so suddenly that I nearly crash into her.
“And, here we are.”
My mouth drops open. The school looks like a castle.
She turns towards me. “Do you need help finding your dorm?”
I shake my head. “Nah. I’ll manage. But thanks.”
She walks away.
There’s a problem. I won’t manage. I can’t tell the difference from north and south.
Eventually, I find it. It’s a cruddy-looking two story brick building, and all of the windows are stained brown.
“Oh, this’ll be fun.” I say, twisting the doorknob.
The door is stuck, so it takes quite a bit of force to get it open. And when I do, I’m instantly hit in the face with a flying nerf ball.
“Hey now…Apple Bloom don’t…Diamond, just…SCOOTALOO!!! You hit a girl in the face with your football!”
Someone tall with multi-colored hair rushes over to check on me.
“Are you okay? You’re Sweetie Belle, right?”
I nod.
“Yes to you’re okay, or yes that you’re name is Sweetie Belle?”
“Both.”
She smiles. “Great. I’m Principal Celestia, the head of Canterlot High. I was here trying to get these children to clean up for their new dorm mate.”
She turns to glare at an orange skinned girl with short fuschia hair.
“But some of us were too busy messing around.”
Celestia helps me up. “Girls!” she shrieks. “Girls, come introduce yourself!”
Celestia looks at me. “I’ll let you get to know these girls.”
She opens the door and leaves.
All of the girls form a line, with the fuschia haired girl first.
“Hi.” she says. “I’m Scootaloo.”
The girl next to her has yellowish skin and red hair with a huge pink bow on top.
“Hi!” she yells excitedly. “Ah’m Apple Bloom! My family owns an apple farm, an’ I have a big sister named Applejack an’ a big brother named Big Macintosh.”
The pink girl next to Apple Bloom snickers. She has wavy hair that has a similar color scheme than that of the woman at the train station. She adjusts the tiny tiara on her head, and links arms with a silver skinned girl who’s right next to her before talking.
“I’m Diamond Tiara, and this is my best friend Silver Spoon. We’re both really rich, and we run this dorm, so stay out of our way.”
The girl standing beside Silver Spoon pushes her glasses up on her nose and coughs. She has a unbelievable amount of red, curly hair, and she wears a light pink shirt with faded blue jeans. On her shirt, there’s an image of two candy canes linked together, making a heart.
“Hi, I’m Twitht.”
“Twist?” I say. “It’s kind of hard to tell with that lisp of yours.”
She rolls her eyes. “You’re about the tenth perthon who’th thaid that. Today.”
“Oh.” I laugh nervously. “Sorry.”
She pushes her glasses up on her nose again. “It’th okay. I’m uthed to it.”
“Anyway,” Scootaloo says. “Why don’t me and Apple Bloom show you around the dorm?”
There’s not a lot to see. There’s a small kitchen with a dining room right next to it, an even smaller living room that has three couches and one recliner crammed in it, and upstairs there’s only five rooms, so Scootaloo and Apple Bloom are roommates.
The sun’s setting now, so I think I’m going to go to bed...

Brief little flashback of what happened last night:
Since we were snowed in, Button got to spend the night. Celestia said he should sleep on the couch, but I offered to let him sleep in my room. Celestia agreed, but made him sleep in a sleeping bag. That’s pretty much all. Also, list of gifts that everyone got:

Anyway, enough with that. When I go downstairs, I’m nearly paralyzed with fear.
Diamond Tiara’s being nice to Button Mash.
Apple Bloom walks up next to me. “Pretty weird, ain’t it?” she asks.
I nod. “Definitely. I’ve only really seen her being nice to Silver…sometimes she acts tolerable around us…”
Apple Bloom laughed. “Yeah. An’, if’n Ah’m right, Ah’d say she’s a’flirtin’ with him.”
My face flushes with color and I freeze. Apple Bloom waves a hand in front of my face. “Sweets? Are ya all right? Sweets?”
I snap out of it and shove her hand away, and stomp over to where Button and Tiara are standing.
“And what do you think you’re doing?” I ask Tiara.
Before she can respond, I whirl around to Button. “And you! I can’t believe you would just sit here and let this happen!”
Button gives me a look. “Let what happen?”
I slap him on the back of the head. “She’s flirting with you, idiot!”
Diamond rolled her eyes. “Sweetie Belle…”
I walk away before she can finish.
I end up hiding out in my room for the rest of the day and snacking on candy canes. At one point, someone slides a letter underneath the doorway.
It reads- I’m sorry.
I shove the letter under my pillow and curl up with my sock.
