I’m sorry. I didn’t know how big of a deal it was. Me and my friends just wanted to get our “battling strange creatures” cutie marks. I should have known it wouldn’t happen. And because of that, me and the girls will never get cutie marks. We tried to stop the creatures after the diamond dogs came, but everything else was beyond our control. Also, in a way, this is Princess Twilight Sparkle’s fault, because she’s the one who let us use the “Summon Creatures From Tartarus” spell. I don’t expect you to know who Princess Twilight is. Or Princess Celestia and Luna, who raise the sun and moon. All I know is, now, the sun will stay in the same place. Forever. So will the moon. All because of me and my friends. I hope you find this, whoever you are. A zebra, pony, griffon, whatever. I don’t care, just so long as you find this. I’m gonna stop writing now. I feel kinda sleepy…
Sweetie Belle put the quill down and smiled at her letter. She looked around the huge field of singed grass that was once Equestria. She saw dead ponies and pools of blood, ashes and smashed crops. And she saw the sun. The sun in which would never move. Not now that it’s ruler was dead. Sweetie looked back down at the letter. The bottom of it had become stained with fresh blood. Sweetie reached up to her chest and felt the warmth of the thick, dark liquid. She tucked the letter into a book from the Golden Oak library, the one that told the story of Nightmare Moon. Then she started singing.
A flash illuminated the already brightly-lit area. Sweetie didn’t have to look to know what was there. She should have felt excited, but no one was there to share it with her. She glanced at her flank. One of the masks of drama, Tragedy, had appeared. Paired along with it were three music notes coming out of it’s mouth.
As her vision darkened, she peered up to the sky and smiled weakly.
“Look, sis, I got my cutie mark!”
