All Ditzy Doo wanted was to go to the Grand Galloping Gala, she knew that it was likely not to happen. Mainly because she had three sisters who always bossed her around. Trixie, Sunset, and Princess Twilight had arrived with her stepmother when her father died. Her stepmother and father had been kind, until the incident. Then they were gone, and everything changed. Her sisters became rude and distanced themselves from Dizty. Then Twilight demanded that everypony call her Princess Twilight instead of just Twilight. But worst of all, they called her Derpy. That name changed how ponies saw her, her eyes had always been "derped" and ponies called her names, but Ditzy hated being called Derpy.
"Derpy," Trixie called, "Go answer the door!" Ditzy opened the door and saw a rather formal mail pony standing there.
"Is this the residence of Princesses Twilight, Trixie, Sunset and Derpy?" The mail pony asked. Ditzy rolled her underped eye at the name.
"Yes sir, and thank you for the letter." He handed the letter over and hurried off. Ditzy then trotted up the stairs to see her sisters and give them the letter.
"Finally! It took you forever to get up here, and what in Equestria is that?!" Sunset demanded, pointing at the letter in Ditzy's hoof.
"Give it to me Derpy!" Twilight ordered, snatching the letter away from Ditzy.
"It's a letter from Sir Fancy Pants, inviting all of us to the Gala tonight!" Twilight exclaimed excitedly.
"Um, Twilight?" Ditzy asked.
"That's Princess Twilight to you!" Twilight yelled.
"Sorry, Princess Twilight, may I go to the Gala with you? I'll go for just a few minutes and I won't be a bother, I promise." Ditzy asked,hopeful that Twilight would consider what she had said. Twilight had been the nicest of the three, although Ditzy was sure that Twilight had no friends.
"Alright Derpy," Twilight said calmly.
"If you can make us dresses, clean the house, and clean yourself up, then you can go to the Gala with us." Trixie and Sunset stared at her in shock that Twilight had actually considered having Ditzy go with them.
"Ok! Thank you Princess Twilight!" Ditzy exclaimed, excited that she might go to the Gala ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
"Come now brother." Fancy Pants had been trying to coax his brother put of his room for almost thirty minutes now.
"John-" Fancy Pants was interupted by his brother whining.
"I don't want to do this, and please, infront of the guests, call me Doctor." Doctor Whooves had not wanted to host the Grand Galloping Gala in the first place.
"Doctor, you know the point of this is to find a mare to rule this kingdom with you." Fancy Pants had wanted to rule Cantrolot, but Queen Celestia told him otherwise. She thought that his adopted brother was better suited for the role, and he hadn't argued. Although his brother had been sneaking off almost every other day to do Celestia knows what, he was a nice and wise stallion.
"Maybe I won't find anypony tonight, then I can leave this place." Doctor mumbled to himself. He didn't want to be married and he didn't want to rule Cantrolot. But no one seemed to care about his feelings at all.
"Now you know that can't happen, Queen Celestia has ruled over this kingdom long enough. You don't want to disappoint her do you?" Fancy Pants knew how his brother hated the duties and responsibilities of the kingdom, but the Queen was getting older and, although she was immortal, she would die. Finally, the door opened.
"I look ridiculous in this suit." The Doctor said. He was wearing a brown suit with a green tie, and it seemed to fit him well. Although he didn't normally wear clothes.
"You don't look that bad" Fancy Pants said, chuckling slightly to try and lighten the mood. He himself was wearing a black tuxedo with a purple bow tie.
"Easy for you to say! You always looked better than I did in a suit!" This was true, no matter how regal he tried to look, his brother had always outshone him. The Doctor wished that Fancy Pants could become king. He was obviously better suited for the role, and he wanted it more than the Doctor ever could. Fancy Pants looked better, was smarter and was also wiser than the Doctor could ever be. Even all the mares in Equestria seemed to like Fancy more. That was the way it would always be.

Ditzy had cleaned the house and made the dresses her sisters had asked for. Twilight's gown was dark blue with stars on it, she also had a light blue star behind her ear. Trixie was wearing a sparkly purple dress. Sunset wore a dark red dress with orange flames and a sun on it. All in all, the three were beautiful. They would definitely catch the eye of the prince. Ditzy however, was not in her opinion. She had no idea what to wear to the Gala. It was only a few hours away and she hadn't completed Twilight's third task, to clean herself up. Of course she had taken a bath, but she had no dress to wear. Suddenly, she remembered the old dress she had made long ago. It was a simple yellow dress with a pink bow at the neck. It was simple, but it would do, she didn't have to impress anypony anyway. Her father had talked about the joys, and delicious muffins, of the Gala. Now, she could see and eat them for herself.
"Derpy, there you are!" Sunset exclaimed.
"What in Celestia's name are you wearing?!" Trixie screeched.
"I was worried sick! Did you clean the house?" Twilight asked, Ditzy wasn't fooled though. She knew her sisters didn't really care for her, no matter how hard she believed.
"Yes I did, now may I go to the Gala with you?" Ditzy asked hopefully. She wondered I Twilight would be true to her word.
"Where is your dress?" Twilight asked, she actually seemed interested if Ditzy was dressed nicely for once. Which surprised her a bit, so she went and put on her dress.
"Here it is!" Ditzy exclaimed proudly, she modeled it for her sisters and hoped that they were as pleased as she was.
"Wow, Trixie is impressed Derpy." Trixie said through gritted teeth.
"It's so ugly." Sunset said in disgust.
"It would be a shame for you to go in this Derpy. Sunset, Trixie, help Derpy fix her dress please." Twilight had a look of pure hate on her face, and Ditzy became confused at what she had meant. Suddenly, Sunset and Trixie started ripping at Ditzy's dress.
"No! Wait please!" Ditzy cried as they tore her dress to shreds.
"There," Sunset said "Now you really do look like the retard that you are." Then Trixie and Sunset walked away, leaving Ditzy to cry.
