Splitting Down the Middle.

Morning arose in Ponyville, but not for everypony as a small filly laid sleeping on her bed. Her mouth coupled around her pillow and her hooves tangled in her blanket, she didn't want to move at all. It didn't help that a voice was calling to her from next to her bed. ''Night Sky, wake up already!''

Night Sky was a unicorn filly with a cherry blossom colored coat, purple mane and blue eyes, which at the present time were closed. She hadn't obtained her cutie mark yet either, despite being 10 years old. She squirmed a bit and make a five in the air before muttering. ''Give me another day....Sora....''

''Really now. You draw a five then say 'one more day' when it's meant to be 'five more minutes'. Come on or do I have to bring out Swifty to come to school with me. You know as well as I that she can't come.'' said Sora, with a chuckle. Sora, or Soaring Light, was a pegasus filly with a white coat, silvery-blue mane and dark blue eyes.

Night awoke, giving Sora a small, watery glare with her blue eyes. She weren't happy with Sora teasing her about the others. Sora was about to make another comment when tears formulated in those crystal blue eyes and her mane deflated from it's natural small curls to a straight of hair that didn't even curl around her neck. ''Sora, you meanie!''

''...Oh great, Snowy's out...'' mumbled Sora, looking at the crying filly. ''Okay, okay. I'm sorry, Snowy. Now can you bring Night back please? So we can go to school. I can't take you, or Swifty or LS because ponies will freak.''

''...And you now that once one of us is out....we don't change back unless something happens. If something sad happens then I'll appear. If something kinda annoying happens, Swifty appears and if something really, really fun, Little Surprise will appear....and for Night, it's something intelligent. You made Night sad so I came out....'' muttered Night, or Snowy Glacier.

''Look, I'm sorry. Okay, Night what's A when 2A + 5 = 25.''

Once that was said, Snowy's tears cleared up and she spoke straight away. Her hair curled up in the processes and curled back around her neck almost instantly. ''It's 10, Sora. You take the 5 which leaves you with 2A = 20 and from there, it's easy.''

''That's you, Night, isn't it?''

''...Yeah, sorry I can't control my personalities very well..''

''Well, it's not your fault that that stupid incident happened. If I were there, I would have made sure it hadn't but I came too late to save you from becoming this.''

Night sighed and got up from her bed. She got her stuff together and the pair of fillies left the now empty house. Night didn't live with her parents, who were apparently too busy to care for their young daughter and so trusted her to live alone because she had a supporting friend's family. It didn't help and Night would often feel lonely despite not being the only filly in her mind.

'Why do I have this problem?....It's all stupid, I'm stupid because I have to put up with this with little help. Sure, I have Sora but she's trying to figure out who's who half the time. I might as well re explain it to my mind.' Night's internal conscious spoke as she walked side by side with her friend. 'I have a split personality disorder. While most ponies with this disorder tend to only get one or two extra consciousness. I ended up with 3, me being the fourth. I would be better if my personalities weren't so different. Let me explain, first off we have Snowy Glacier, who appeared this morning, she's the 'sad me' if that makes sense. Her personality drives around her sadness and crybaby attitudes. She really only appears if something really sad has happened, like say with Sora's teasing me or a pet has died, like that. So with Crybaby Snowy out of the way, we have two more. The more common of those two is Swift Bolt, the 'hot-tempered Night'. She appears commonly when I have gotten angry but there's a problem if she appears, she changes from a unicorn to a pegasus and gains a white streak in her mane, if that wasn't enough, if you look closely in her right eye, you'll see a dangerous red glow surrounding her blue eye. As if she wasn't annoying already.'

'Hey! cried another internal voice. It was heavy and angry, definitely Swift Bolt 'Night, you better not be spreading rumors about me again!'

'....Swifty....don't be mean. You...okay, Night?.....' mumbled a shy internal voice, obviously Snowy.

'Yeah. I'm fine, Snowy. I was just re-reminding my brain about our....um, problem?' said Night's internal voice. As she said that, laughter erupted in her mind. 'LS....Your here, aren't you?'

'Yeah, I'm here. Why can't I come out?' said a childish voice. Definitely LS.

'No, you can't. Sorry.' mumbled Night's internal voice. 'That's Little Surprise or better known as LS. She's known as the childish me even though I'm still a filly. She's very simple-minded. Though, there is a problem. Her mental state is of that of a five year old, and every time she takes over our body, her mental age deteriorates so we're trying to keep her from appearing even though I know that's mean but........I have school to focus on. I'm actually kinda glad she has the mind of a five year old and is unable to process mine, Swifty's or Snowy's memories and only collects memories slowly because it means she'll lose less as she deteriorates. She has the mind of a five year old because that was when the accident happened.....but that bit is for a different time. See you guys, I got school.'

'See you later' said the other voices, in pure unison.

Night smiled a little, catching Sora's attention. ''They been speaking to you, right?''

''Yeah, their good girls, it's just they can't stay forever. Can they?'' asked Night, with sad eyes. She didn't want to have to separate from the others, they had spent 5 years with her and she didn't want to part now. But she was glad because nopony knew exactly when this was set to happen so she could spend as much time with them without worrying about the time. But that question still lingered.
