Chapter 5: A Gift

Previous Chapter

Two minutes later, you are walking out of the back while getting your pants up. Fluttershy stores your boxers into a drawer on her desk. You will miss that pair, but it's for a cause. Walk back inside to see that most of the animals are either sleeping, or playing around in their cages. Some are teething the cloth under them, have some kind of ball, or just roll around in there. How cu- oh, damn! That stench. Look to a nearby cage to see a dog wagging their tail. That little- "Is everything okay in he- oh..."

You back away from the cage. "Yeah, just trying to get used to his gift."

She opens up the nearby cage and brings out the little trouble maker. "Come on out, stinky. Lets clean out your mess." The dog then jumps out of her arms and runs around.

"Seems like they just wants to play around."

"I'll play with her soon. She really left a mess in there." The... looks like a Jack Russell Terrier to you, is scratching Fluttershy's leg, demanding to get some attention. "Not now, I need to clean up your mess."

"What if I play with her?"

Fluttershy is relieved when you said that. "Yes, please. I'll be right back, I need to get something from the counter." In a second, she runs to the back of the counter and grabs out a plastic bag, some gloves, and a disinfecting spray.

Fluttershy told you her name and gave you some stuff to play with her. For the next few minutes, you played around with Roxy. She is very hyperactive, but tires out easily. You played fetch with the dog, teased her with some toys, even ran around the store with her. It had to stop, mainly because Fluttershy didn't wanted you to trip or break anything. "There we go, all nice and clean."

"Come here, Roxy." She runs over to you, only to smack her head into your hands.

"She really likes to be petted." Her head moves around your hand, demanding you to pet her. You comply and rub it. "You can put her back in, I have her room cleaned." Just as you're about to lift her up, you're starting to think about something. What if, you could take her home? It could brighten everyone up. You can get a pet, parents see your responsibility, Fluttershy will know it goes to a good home.
To your own mind, it could work. "Anon, her cage is clean. Could you please put her back in?"

You look into Roxy's eyes. She's giving you that damn guilt treatment. You know that she doesn't want to go back in there. "Fluttershy, what if I took her in?" The sound of metal being slammed in can be heard from right above you. Look to see that Fluttershy's arm is pushing the door in. You can't see her face, since it is covered by her hair. "You... you can't be..."

"I am. I don't really play around with anything when I get home; except my console and dick but-“ HOW DO YOU KEEP ON DOING THIS?!

A thin laugh can be heard from her. "You're still funny. You can keep her." She brushes her hair aside to show you her uplifted face. "Is your family going to be fine with this? I don't want them to be upset about..."

"I'll have a talk with them when they're going to pick me up. In the mean time, could you show me on how to, well, the basics on taking care of him?"

For ten minutes, she tells you the proper ways on washing, feeding, and if she would ever be sick. "You will need this. Just to start off." Fluttershy goes beside the counter to bring out a small basket. Looks like a basic kit, filled with some shampoo, dog food, a bowel, and a couple of toys.

"Flutters, this looks more than enough to start off. I can't accept this." You push it back to her.

"But I insist. I can't let you take her without the proper items." She pushes it back to you.

You would go further on arguing, but it's best to take the damn basket. "Fine, but here. You'll need this, if you're giving it to me." You pull out your wallet and start to pick out a few tens.

"No, no. It's a gift. Really." If she does this to every costumer, you wonder on how she still has this store. Non-profit organization? It could explain on why she always asks for volunteers.

"I can't just accept this, I really should pay it back."

"No. P-please, just take it." You leave the money on the counter. She grabs it and puts the bills in the basket. You take it out and slam it back on the counter. She puts her hands on your hand. "Please, I don't need it."

"Just keep it. I can make it back, don't worry about it." She sighs and drags her hands off of yours. You push the set of tens to her, and grab the basket back. Fluttershy grabs the money, but just holds it in her hand. Your phone vibrates multiple times. Bring it out to check that your dad is calling.

beep "Hello?"

"Hey son. I'm waiting outside, do you want to leave now?" You look at Fluttershy. She seems dejected, could be from that damn money feud. That was a dumb argument only Canadians could get into. Could she be Canadian? "Son?"

"Right, I need to ask you something."

"What is it?"

"I want a pet."

... beep

"What the...?" You put your phone away.

"Is everything fine?"Fluttershy anxiously asks.

"I don't know, the call dropped before he could answer my question."

The door to the store opens up, relieving a man in his mid forties. "H-Hello? M-may I help you?"

He starts to walk over to you. "Son,-" Oh shit, what did you do this time? "Are you sure you want to do this?"

"Yes father, I feel like I can take it."

"You should know that your mother won't want it in the house, you understand this right?"

"Yes." You answer in a straightaway tone.

"You also should know that you need to feed it every day. That means before you go to school, when you come home, and before bed."

"I, told him everything he needs to do, s-sir." Fluttershy mumbles at the sidelines.

He looks over to Fluttershy. "You're the owner?"

Fluttershy starts to shake around. "Y... yes."

Your dad points a finger to you. "You've taught him all that he needs to know?"

She starts to sink behind the counter. "Yes!" She whispers out.

Your father realizes the basket and points at it. "And THIS is going to help him?"

Only Fluttershy's eyes are visible on how low she is. "Yes!" She cries out.

The room is silent, until Roxy starts to teethe on his shoelace. "Is this your pet, Anon?" He starts to pick her up, while you and Fluttershy watch.

"Yes dad."

He stares at the dog, while she wags her tail and licks his hand. "I see that it's a female." No shit.... "Small, friendly, still young. This might be a hard task, but I'm sure we can train her to be good." He properly holds her in his arms. "Alright son, you can keep her." You and Fluttershy synchronously catch a breath. "I'll take her into the car. The both of you say your goodbyes and I'll wait outside." He walks out of the store, while Roxy starts to lick his face. "Really friendly, aren't you?" The door closes, leaving you and Fluttershy alone.

"I must say, that, your dad is... very bold."

"Yeah, he can act that was sometimes." You grab the basket and start to carry it.

"Oh! You're forgetting your backpack!"

"Damn, your right. Could you get it for-" She runs and heads into the back room. "-...me." You can almost hear a zipper being used in the other room. She better not be fucking you your shit... "Uh, Fluttershy?"

"Yes!"

"Is everything okay?"

"Darn thing-yes! Just, leaving something for you!" There is the sound of something being ripped off. What the hell is she doing in there? A better question is what is she giving you? For almost a minute, she finally comes back out with your backpack. She adjusts her shirt as she sets it on the counter. "There you go, so sorry to keep you waiting." You're still wondering on what the hell she did. "I would tell you to open it when you're alone~" Now she is trying to get you terrified, and it might be working. You slide the basket on the table and get your backpack. You grab the zipper and-

"Anon! What's the hold up?" Your dad barges through the door, walks inside.

"Sorry sir, just needed to get his backpack." It took more than a while to get it back. What did she do, planted a bomb inside?

"Okay then and... do you need us to throw those light bulbs away?" He points at the box that is sitting at the end of the counter.

"Hm? Oh, I just was about to throw them out."

"I wouldn't throw these out. They need to be properly disposed of, since they carry around mercury in them. I'll take them with us, so that we can do it properly." He walks to the other side and grabs the box.

"T-thank you, s-sir."

Just as he gets outside, he yells something to you. "One more minute, Anon!" He pops open the trunk and starts to put the box inside.

"Sorry about that."

"N-no worries." Fluttershy grabs your backpack and goes behind you. She slips it into one arm.

"Thanks, I can carry it from here." Just as you grab the basket, she slips a kiss on your lips. You kiss back, but break off of it when you heave the basket away from the counter.

"I'll see you at school tomorrow, Anon."

"Y-yeah. Goodnight, Flutters." You walk out of the store and put the basket filled with the "First day of taking care of your mutt" kit in the trunk of the car. You slam it down and waive at her before you enter the passenger side of the car. She mildly waives back while your dad starts to drive you away.

"She's a weird one, but a very nice girl."

"Yeah... she's wonderful." Roxy is in the back, scratching around and barking at the window. "Hey! Calm down! What's going on with her?"

"She just misses Fluttershy, dad."

"Ah, so that's her name. Buckle up, son. And take off that backpack."

You slide it off of your arm and buckle your seatbelt. You get your backpack to rest it on your lap. You can see that one of the zippers is not completely closed. You open up that zipper to see a thong and bra... Both of them are a familiar pink color. There is a teared piece of paper right beside them. You pick it up and read it. 'Something to remember me. With <3 Fluttershy'

"Is everything alright, son?"

Put the note back in and zip up your backpack. "Everything is great dad."
