The Beginning of the End

“You are nothing but a worthless excuse for a living being!” said mysterious deep voice. “You shouldn't even be aloud to live! Why don't you just end it already and stop the misery around you?!”

Sitting in the dark was Jack staring at the nothingness below him. He knows this place very well, too well in fact. He is in a dark part of his mind and the one talking is as he like to call it ... his ... something, he didn't know what to call it, he knows what it is, but sense he is terrible at names, he didn't bother naming it.

“I don't know why.” He lied with a smirk,  he likes to annoy people from sometimes, even if it is... this voice... how about that. Voice. That seems good enough.

“We have been through this, I know you know the exact reason why, so tell me why you aren't dead already!”

The abyss changed quickly into looking like the neighborhood Jack lives in, the area started to shake in the voice's anger, soon after the floor around Jack  started to crack, but Jack wasn't scared, he was here many times before, he knows this place isn't real. So he just admired the area around him.

All of a sudden, a motherly voice out of nowhere said “Jaaaack, it's time to wake up.” Jack knew that lovely voice anywhere, that was the voice of his mother. Jack smiled at the voice of his mother, knowing what that meant. “NO, NOT AGAIN!” The voice shouted, also knowing what that meant.

With Jack close to waking up, he said goodbye to the voice and woke up.

As Jack wakes up from his dreamless sleep. He finds himself lying down in a dark of an abyss, yet he could see himself clearly like there is light around him.As he gets up, he looks around, trying to find some light, but to no avail, he looks down to see what he is standing on, but just like in every other direction, all he saw was nothing but a dark abyss.

Thinking that he is in a dream, not knowing that he already slept, he said“Alright, are we still going to argue about why I am not dead or-” he asked, thinking the VOICE will answer.

“Hello Jack.” A female voice interrupted. Jack jumped, he didn't expect a female voice. “Who are you?”  Jack said in confusion. “I am your guide," the voice said in a echo it's their in a cave.  “Guide for what” Jack asked in confused tone.“It is time for your trial, Jack. I am to guide your way through the trial and don't bother trying to escape, there is only a dark abyss around and you can't go anywhere without us knowing.” the voice said in a annoyed tone like it has done this before.

“Hmm, it seems, uh, sounds like that it has done this before, this is strange.”

“Did anyone else take this trial?” Jack asked. “Yes.” the voice said in a said in a sad tone. “What is this trial?” Jack questioned, trying to processes what is happening. “It's a trial of courage, it's a trial o hard work, it's a trial of respect, it's a trial of worth.” the voice said in a heroic way.

“That sounds like an adventure is waiting for me, but I shouldn't get to distracted, this 'other voice' is way to weird and different.” Jack was confused on the inside, but looks fine on the outside, he thought about his situation with 'what if' and 'maybe's, he was taking some to adjust to what is happening.

“Take all the time you need.” the voice said in a caring voice.

“Alright Jack, just do what it says and if something it says you know is wrong, than don't it.”

“What do I have to do?” Jack asked, hoping this would be easy. “you will have to survive fifty years in a different world will completing tasks I give you and beware of the fallen angels, they will try to kill you.”

“Great, let's just hope that it's in a good place”

“Where is the trial gonna take place?”“In the world of ponies, Equestra, Ponyville.”

“Yes.”

“OK, let's start the trial.”  Jack said, confident about the future.

“As you wish, we shall start trail.” the voice said before several different blank images appeared in front of Jack, there was a a little box in the bottom corner of the holographic screen with a female symbol in and words under it saying “switch to,” he can only guess that the little box is to change the gender. To the right of the images was a vertical rectangle with a word in it saying “Mirror” which he could easily guess would act as a mirror.

“This look very... futuristic, but I wouldn't expect something like that in here, this looks more like a giant prank than a start of a trial!”

“Please select a body part you want to change for your character.” the voice said like a AI. “Oh, OK um... what do I do? Do I just touch one of the selection bars?” Jack asked about to touch one of the images. “Yes, you do touch one of the selection bars to gain that part of the body.” the voice answered. He touched one of the selection bars that said “Face” and all of the blank images now had  faces  of pones, which reminded him of the Pony generator.

He lifted his right hand to his chin,put his left hand under his right elbow and shifted his wight to his right leg to be in a thinking pose.

“OK, hmm... how shall look I like?” Jack whispered to himself. Then he remembered his first OC that he made in his head, a black coated, young unicorn colt with no cutie mark. He looked for the right body parts to at least look like his OC.

After he found the right body parts, he taped the vertical rectangle that said “Mirror” to see how he looks and as he expected, the screen acted like a mirror and showed his reflection, but he did not expect two screens, the one on the left had words that said “before” and the one on the right said “after,” the one on the left showed him as he imagined his OC, but the right looked like he was in a horrible fight with someone, his right was fully white like a dead man's eyes and he had a scare over it that looked fresh, he has cuts all over him and a few bruises.

“What's with the before and after mirror?” Jack asked nervously, frightened about the future. “This is before and after you teleport to the Universe, it will be a really rough journey and your body will change on the way there.” the voice said calmly, before a portal appeared behind Jack. “Shall we go?”

Jack jumped at the sound of the portal appearing out of nowhere and tried to land on all four hooves but instead fell on his stomach, he shakily got up on his hooves and started to slowly trot over to the portal.“Don't worry, you'll get use to it.” The voice said reassuringly.

Once Jack finally got to the portal, his heart started beating faster then ever, he inhale deeply and exhaled to relax.“Well, as one teenager once said 'YOLO!” Jack said in his head, he always wanted to say that out loud, but was and still is to shy to do that.

As he closed his eyes, he jumped in the portal, leaving the black abyss.
