A Week After
Running
Previous ChapterNext ChapterThe first thing Adagio noticed was the with. It was very comforting, and she was lying on something soft and cushy except for a cold ice bag on her head.
She opened her eyes slowly, blinking several times at the assault from the light streaming into the room.
"Oh my gods! Sonata! She's up!" A females voice yelled she heard high heels clopping away.
It flooded over the space, sending warmth radiating throughout Adagio's body. Her head ached, like a sore muscle would after a long day of hard work. She began to realize that she was in her room.
She lay there for a few minutes, staring at the ceiling as her memories returned one by one.
When the last one arrived, she jolted up in the bed.
Adagio felt something snug on her wrist glanced down at it, someone had rapped a lot of bandages on her wrist and palm and brow as she looked at it.
Sonata....
Wait, Sonata had helped her? Why on earth would she do that? Her mother had made it clear on more than one occasion that she nor Aria didn't care about her. So, why would she care if something happened to her?
She heard a quiet buzzing around her. The noise was slowly getting louder until she could hear faint words.
"...you sure?" she heard someone ask.
"I'm sure she'll be fine," another voice said. Another woman and she sounded close. "But she will need rest. She lost a lot of blood."
"Is there anything I can do to help?" The first woman asked.
"No we just have to wait until she out of the coma."
Adagio heard high heels slowly retreating from the room and she decided to weakly peak open an eye. She quickly shut it again due to the bright, blinding lights.
"Adagio?" The woman from before asked. Now that she could hear more clearly, she knew who it was she knew that squeaky little voice anywhere.
"S....Sonata?" she asked horsely.
"Oh my gods, Adagio!" She tackled her sister in a hug. She pressed her face to the crook of her neck. Adagio was just staring at her sister with half-lidded, blank eyes. Her arms stayed at her sides.
"Adagio I thought I lost you forever!"
"Sonata we're immortal."
Sonata twisted her head in confusion. "If we're immortal then why would try something like that if there's on point?"
Adagio opened her mouth to say something but nothing came out. Sonata was actually right, why would she try something when she would just come back anyway? Adagio shook her head seeing this us just going to end up in another headache.
"I don't have to explain my actions to you." Adagio said still confused herself.
"Well on a unrelated note yesterday I used spray cheese as deodorant I found out it stank worse than not wearing nothing." Sonata said with a big smile spread across her face.
It's hard to believe your the medical expert.
Timidly, Adagio lifted her arms until she felt a sharp sting again from her left wrist. She carefully held up her arm to see where the pain came from. Adagio stared at the bandages wincing slightly at the sting shooting up her arm. "Sonata..." She breathed. "H-how long was I out?"
Sonata pulled away and looked at the golden siren hesitanty. "Not very long. Only...maybe...three or four days?"
Adagio shot up. "Three or four days?"
Adagio winced and clutched her head at the pounding headache. "Dammit..."
"Adagio you really need to lie back down. You need more rest!"
"No...I'm perfectly fine. I don't need to."
"But Adagio you really need more-"
"I said I'm fine." Adagio said firmly and not wanting to upset her leader Sonata silenced herself instantly.
Adagio clutched her head again and felt her left eyelid. "What the hell..."
Sonata realized what she was talking about. "Yeah sorry about that but it turns out that when I snatched the glass out your wrist I cut your left eye sorry."
Sonata apologized but smirked. "But it does make your look more like a badass," Sonata said Adagio smirked.
"Where's Aria?" Adagio asked just now realizing the absence of the purple siren.
"She's down stairs, you would have seen what she when she saw you with all that blood she literally threw up." Sonata laughed and crossed her legs.
"She sat your side the hole time and refused to leave the side of the bed, she didn't leave your side until she came to get me when you started waking up."
Adagio then looked at her confused of the expressions Aria making before she could question it Aria spoke up.
"Adagio how's your hand? Is everything alright?"
"Uh..Yeah it stings but everything's alright."
Damn, she's gorgeous.
Aria came back to staring at her again.
Aria then moved slowly close to Adagio, she noticed. "Aria? What's the matter?" Adagio said a little irritated. Aria didn't move, she was lost in her big round magma eyes.
"Aria?"
"uh? Oh! Nothing! ...i..err..just wanted to see your hand." Adagio shrugged her shoulders and allowed Aria to touch it.
This isn't working I have to make a move on her
Aria moved even more closer to Adagio
"Aria?" Their faces were so close. "Aria what the hell is wrong with you?" Adagio said in a aggravated voice Aria didn't answer, she was scared. She wasn't sure why, but she knew she was scared. "Aria, I need my personal space."
Come on Aria just go.
Adagio got tired of Aria turned her head away, but Aria grabbed Adagio's cheek with both hands. She put her face closer to her own face, till their noses touched. Adagio's 's eyes were wide open in a mixture of irritation and shock at the same time she was blushing a lot.
Aria closed her eyes and got closer to her face. Adagio looked away nervously and bit her lower lip.
"Stop"
Aria opened her eyes looked at Adagio with disbelief.
"I said stop."
"Adag-"
"I can't do this.;
"I-"
Adagio turned and ran out the bedroom door.
Adagio didn't stay to see if Aria would follow. She raced through the living room and fled out the back door. She ran as fast as she could. Daring to look back, she saw Sonata in the doorway. Adagio faced forwards once more and sprinted across the street to the dark alley across from her house.
Aria ran to her Toyota and cranked the engine. "Please, don't let her be gone. Please, I have to help her" She muttered pulling out of the parking lot.
