Chap 1
Rainbow Dash's eyes slowly fluttered open as she woke up. Like most days she usually refused to give her body any physical activity and rolled back over. She kept her eyes closed, but for some unknown reason she couldn't go back to sleep like she normally did. She tossed and turned, changed sleeping positions, and tried to relax herself by thinking of boring things. After about ten minutes Rainbow was fed up with her inability to properly fall asleep and got out of bed with a huge groan. After getting out of bed Rainbow automatically knew she wasn't in the least bit tired at this point.
She let out another huge groan before exclaiming "And I have a free day today!"
Which was indeed true, Rainbow didn't have to work at all today and was looking forward to a day of mostly sleeping. Yeah, she was looking for to it, not now.
Now Dash wasn't sure what to do in her multitude of free time.
She did know one thing; she had this weird feeling in her stomach but didn't know what it was. Usually when she had gut feelings it was to help her stay away from something.  So if she was supposed to stay away from something, what was it?
So Dash sat down. She sat down attempted to reach deep into her thoughts. She wanted to dig deep and connect her mind with her body in order to solve her problem she was currently unable to solve.
'Well, time to get thinking.' She told herself.
She waited for a couple moments only to met with complete silence. She looked left and right as something was supposed to happen.
She scratched her head ‘Hello?' She asked as if she were to get a response.
‘Come on, you’ve got to know something.’
Finally, her mind responded ‘I don’t know what it is.’
‘You’ve got to know!’
‘Why don’t you know it?’
‘What? I’m asking you, you should know it.’ Rainbow argued with herself as if she was interrogating it.
‘Thing is you’re…..me.’
With that Rainbow snapped out of her thoughts “That was…woah.”
So she stood up and walked to the bathroom to freshen up for the day. She looked at herself in the mirror, she realized how dead and unamused she looked when she didn’t smile; it was as if someone had sucked the life out of her. She was so used to looking in mirrors and praising herself for all of her skills that she never stopped smiling because she was happy at herself. Now here she was not with a smile on her face, but neither a frown, realizing just how mean she could look. She smiled really wide as if she was super happy, but then let her face drop yet again. She did this a couple of times to test herself; she looked as if she was two different ponies.
She decided to brush her teeth and smoothing out her main with her hooves before leaving the house as soon as she could. The mirror affect was getting weird and she didn’t want to see anymore.  So she decided since she had tons of free time on her hooves, what better way to spend it messing with one of her best friends?  The question was who, which of the main six were prime to pester for no apparent reason?
Fluttershy was an automatic no, she did want to go over there but she might end up thinking she was serious when she was just messing around. Rarity was a no because she might end up in a dress because “she had the perfect figure that represented pegasi”. Bleh; a definite no indeed. Pinkie Pie might just end up messing with Rainbow Dash so she was scratched off of the list.
Which just left Applejack and Twilight left over, but Applejack might be working and the Egghead may not be there since she’s a princess now.
She considered her options; Applejack would have a tendency to be there more than Twilight would be at her castle. Twilight can put up with her joking around better than Applejack would. She couldn’t really do much to Applejack besides knock her hat off; opposed to calling Twilight Egghead and making fun of her smarts. Rainbow shifted her hooves up and down as if something was something was constantly changing the balance of them.  After a short time of looking at her hooves one of them had one over, and she made a decision.
“Well Egghead, here comes The Dash.”
With that, Dash was on her way to the princess of magic’s castle. Since she wasn’t tired at all, that meant he had plenty of energy. What’s the best way to use that energy?  Flying to the castle of course, but not without making it an obstacle course. So Dash flew not above Ponyville but very low to the ground where the ponies passed by. She flew at high speeds and had plenty of near misses, cuts and weaves, and lots of ponies hit by a rather strong wind that followed her causing a stir out of the local ponies.
When she finally got to the castle he had to come to a skidding stop with managed to ruin some dirt here and there but Dash paid no mind to it. So she just walked into the castle slamming open both doors and scouting for Twilight as if she had made no noise at all. She found Spike peering around a corner with his chef hat on at her and waved at him. Her face scrunched a bit when he completed rounded the corner and had his arms folded along with his face in a look of minor annoyance.
She dropped down from her hover and scolded him back when he didn’t move. “What?” She said, her tone aggressive but not as if she were to flip out in two seconds.
“You’re too loud.”
“You’re too loud!” Though the comeback was weak, it was the first thing that spilled out of her mouth.
Spike shook his head as he turned around and began walking back to the kitchen. “Great comeback, but at least try to be quiet, it is still eight in the morning.”
Dash caught up with him and matched the dinosaurs speed “Yeah yeah, where’s Twilight?”
“In the library.”
Dash smirked “Of course.” She ran off towards the library leaving the little dragon to go back to what he was doing.
Just like the front door she burst in the library without any consent on how loud she was. She immediately caught Twilight’s attention who had a book in her hooves and a glass of something near her.
“Sup Egghead?” Rainbow said, words flowing out as if she practiced them.
“Hello Rainbow Dash.”
“Being a nerd again I see.”
“Yup, being rowdy I see.”
“Oh you got some jokes Egghead?” Rainbow grinned looked as Twilight, eyes narrowed and challenging her to see what she would do.
Twilight used her magic to take a sip of whatever she was drinking and when she put it down there was a visible smirk on her face. “You’re the joke.” She said as calm and collective as she did when Rainbow first entered.
“You’re a dweeb that only likes books.”
“You’re so loud that you wake up the dead.”
“You read so much you don’t know what outside is anymore.”
“You talk louder than your own sonic rainboom.” Twilight had put the book down and stood up.
“You read so much you forgot what the sonic rainboom looks like!” Rainbow took the challenge and walks two steps close to Twilight.
“I would be able to hear my thoughts if you weren’t talking!” Twilight took two steps of her own.
“Oh I’m sorry, does x equal the circumference of the area of how you can’t think straight?” The space was slowly closing, and Dash wasn’t backing down from a challenge.
“Oh I’m sorry, could you educate me on something besides the Wonderbolts?”
“I can if you don’t talk to everypony like we’re all eggheads like you.” The gap when from public space to private space.
Now Twilight was staring directly into the eyes of Dash just a few feet away, neither of them flinched, moved, or said anything else. The silence was intense, as if a war was going on that only the two of them new about.
Rainbow wasn’t expecting it in the least bit so she jumped when she felt Twilight wrap her forelegs around her. She quickly adjusted to make sure she didn’t seem like she jumped and quickly hugged back.
When they broke the hug Twilight was the first to speak “So why are you up so early?”
“Well, I couldn’t sleep so kind of ended up here.” She knew she wasn’t exactly telling the truth but she realized instead of telling her how she wanted to make fun of her she could help her with her gut feeling.
“I guess that makes sense, I am usually up early.”
“Yeah and can you help me out Twi?”
“With what?”
“Well this morning I had this feeling in my gut, and I don’t know what it is.”
“Upset stomach?”
“No that’s not it, more of instinct or something.”  Rainbow began touching her own stomach.
“Well what does it usually mean when your gut feels like that?”
“Usually it’s danger, but I’m not so sure about this. This kind of told me to, ‘go somewhere’”.
Twilight smiled “Then we’ll go somewhere Dash, we’ll go as far as we need to.”
