Keep Beleving in Miracles

Miracle's Story

Hi, I'm Miracle Mystery. I'm ten years old, and love to sing, write, and draw. Once I drew what I thought my mom would look like, but honestly, I don't remember her at all.

Oh, yeah, I'm an orphan. I live at the Skybrooke Orphanage, up in Cloudsdale. I don't know what happened to my family, I don't even remember who my family was, but I know, somewhere in Equestria, at least one of my family members are still living. Sometimes I imagined them coming for me after the six years I've been alone. Those are the kind of miracles I believe in.

Life here isn't so bad. I have friends. First, there's Sandy Breeze. She's very easy going, and was the first filly that actually talked to me on my first day. We were only four, but we got along just fine. She's my room mate here, as well.

Next there's Marshmallow Sugar. Just like her name suggests, she's as sweet as sugar. She's also very shy, and doesn't talk much, but I usually can get her to communicate with me. I first met her outside the orphanage. She was practicing her flying, since we were only six and our wings couldn't get us off the ground. I went over to her and asked her if she wanted some company. She replied with a silent, sort of awkward, nod. After that, we became friends.

Lastly, but certainly not least, Snowdrop. She's probably my favorite, but don't tell anypony. Snowdrop is blind, but she has the best hearing I've ever known a pony to have. She can hear the stars twinkle. She gets bullied sometimes, but I always try to defend her. What I like about her most of all, though, is her confidence, determination, and kindness. Though things can get tough, she always finds a way around it and looks on the bright side. I'm pretty sure she has a 'bright' future.

And then finally, me. Miracle Mystery. I'm not really sure who I am. I have no idea what others think of me. In other words, instead of thinking of what's going on now and in my life, I think of what will or has happened somewhere else. Thoughts get mixed up sometimes, but one thing's for sure. I believe that miracles happen. No, it's not because of my name. It's purely my own thought.

So, I'm sure I've covered it all. Not much to say about me, but I named the main things. Now, onto today!

"I'm so bored!" Sandy Breeze complained, knocking her head onto the table repeatedly. "There's nothing to do at this stupid old orphanage!"

"Stupid's a little harsh, don't you think?" Marshmallow Sugar said in her high, whispery voice. "I mean, we've been here almost our whole lives."

"That's the point!" Sandy cried. "Six years with nothing to do. Are we ever going to get adopted?"

"But if we do get adopted, then how are we going to stay in touch?" Snowdrop asked. "I'm not good with those 'long distance friendship' things."

"Snow has a point." I helped. "Even though this isn't the funnest place in the world, we've created lots of memories here. When we leave, we'll leave them all behind."

"If we ever leave." Sandy muttered. "And funnest isn't a word." Wow. That just killed the moment.

"Why don't we just end this conversation and ask Mr. if we can go out somewhere?" Marshmallow asked hopefully.
