TreeHugger said smiling. "Oh, it's no trouble at all. I love helping the elderly." The two mares were walking through Ponyville on their way to the hospital to spend time with the sick and elderly. Suddenly Fluttershy stopped walking. "Huh? Something the matter Flutters?" "Oh nothing, I-I forgot that Twilight wanted to go. I hope that's okay." "Nah, it's fine. The more the merrier right?" The two then made a detour and headed towards the only castle in Ponyville. Upon reaching it's front doors TreeHugger couldn't help but be taken back by the sheer beauty of the large castle. "Wow, she actually lives here?" "Oh yes. Well, before she lived in the old library that used to be here but that was before the whole becoming a princess thing." "A princess? I had no idea." "Really? I-I thought she mentioned it once." "She did? huh, I don't remember. Do I have to bow when we see her?" "Oh no not at all. She's not big about the whole "superiority over others" thing." "Oh cool." Fluttershy knocked on the door, they could hear the knock echo loudly. A few minutes later the doors opened up revealing the lavender pony all packed up and ready to go. "There you guys are! I've been waiting for hours! I can't wait to spend the whole afternoon lecturing an entire hospital on the magic of-" "Friendship?" Fluttershy asked raising a hoof. "That and the art of, get this.......knot tying!" Twilight squealed pulling out balls of colorful yarn from her saddlebag and began playing with them a bit. "Twilight has been a fan of yarn ever since she accidentally hit herself and Rarity's cat Opal with some sort of interest switching spell. she's been like this for about a week but I'm sure the effects will wear off soon." The yellow pegasus whispered in TreeHugger's ear. "That's cool with me." TreeHugger said shrugging. "Well then, let's be on our way!" Twilight said putting the balls of yarn back in her bag. The trio then set off for the local hospital. Once the three made it to the hospital center they were immediately welcomed by a snow white mare with a light pink mane who was one of the many nurses working there. "I'm so glad you were able to make it. The seniors has been looking forward to this all week I'll tell ya." The snow white mare led the three into a large living room, the seniors were already there waiting for them in their seats. The nurse motioned Twilight towards the podium stand, setting her bags down she gave a bright smile to her audience who smiled back with the few teeth they had. "Good afternoon everpony! I'm Twilight Sparkle and those are my friends, Fluttershy and TreeHugger. I hear that you have been waiting for a while so let's get down to it and get started." As promised the lecture began, a few hours later both Fluttershy and TreeHugger were sound asleep snoring away which was ironic since the seniors haven't fallen asleep yet. TreeHugger suddenly woke up when she heard an old, sick sneezing loudly, she got up from her seat and looked around for a tissue. One was nowhere in sight so she decided to go find a nurse for help, as she left the room she overheared Twilight's history lesson on the history of Saddle Arabian yarn. TreeHugger shivered a bit before leaving the room. "Now where do they keep tissues in this place? A better question is where's a nurse when ya need her?" TreeHugger thought as she wandered the hallways. She walked past a room door when she heard the whooshing sound of something moving quickly via magic. "I think I heard a whoosh?" She said before turning around and peeked through the small window glass in the door. Her eyes grew wide as she saw what appeared to be origami animal figures and paper airplanes hovering through the air. She then look to the side to see the cause of the whimsical sight: a young unicorn green stallion with a purple mane, his body was hidden underneath the snow white sheets of the bed he laid in leaving only his head sticking out. What really caught her eye was the large white bandage wrapped around his eyes, a clear sign that he................was blind. She watched the magical performance of the dancing paper figures for a few moments when they suddenly the magical dark purple aura disappeared causing them to fall to the ground. "You can come in you know." The stallion said with a smile. The door magically swung open and TreeHugger fell to the ground, her eyes cartoonishly swirling. "Whoa, how did you know I was there?" She asked picking herself up. "You know that saying that if you lose one sense your other senses are enhanced?" "Yea?" The stallion turned his head and wiggled his ears. "Ah, I get it." She said giggling. The stallion joined in on the laughter. "So.....my name is TreeHugger. What's your name?" "It's.......Iris. Blind Iris. I know, I know it's a stupid name." "No, no. I like it. Your aura practically screams that.....well that and the giant bandage around your eyes. Were you...were you in a accident?" "No. I was born like this." "(Gasp) I'm so sorry." "Don't be. In fact I learned to cope with it, honest." "Oh, okay. I guess it doesn't really matter if you're okay with it." TreeHugger took a moment to over the room which wasn't really much. There was a table and chair in the far corner of the room, an old bookcase filled with novels, and a painting of a valley above Iris's head. "Your room.......it's-" "Not that great?" "I was going to say it has........potential. (gasp) One sec, I'll be right back." The earth pony before dashing out the room. A few minutes later she retuned with two paintbrushes and several buckets of paint she got from Twilight's saddlebag. "Let's turn this boring room into a work of art, shall we?" "Let's shall." Iris said taking the paintbrush with his magic and dipped it in the paint. The paintbrush stopped a few inches away from the white wall. "But what to paint?" TreeHugger put a hoof to her chin and thought about it for a moment. "Paint....what is special about you." At first Iris showed no signs of emotion but immediately began painting. TreeHugger turned away from him giving him his privacy, she faced her own wall and began painting. After a few hours the two finished, setting her paintbrush down she took a step back to admire her work. It was a picture very similar to her cutie mark: A tree with heart shaped leaves. "Magnificent. Hey, Iris you done over there?" "Just about." "Can I see it?" "Close your eyes first." She did so, she slowly tuned around and walked towards his wall using the railing of his bed for guidance. "Okay..........now. Open them." She did so, she immediately gasped. There on the wall.......was a mural of her holding a rainbow paintbrush. "So? What do you think?" Iris said slightly biting his bottom lip. "I.......love it." "You do?" "Yeah, it's beautiful. But.....how did you know what I look like?" "I have no idea. An Image just appeared in my head and I just went with it." TreeHugger smiled. She then dabbed his nose with her paintbrush right before kissing him on the forehead. A few hours later TreeHugger, Twilight, and Fluttershy left the hospital clinic for the day. "So girls, how did you enjoy my lesson?" Twilight asked. "Oh, it was very nice. I enjoyed the nap." "The nap?" "Uh nothing, never mind. By the way Treehugger, where did you run off to?" "Yeah, where did you run off?" Trehugger wasn't paying any attention to them, she was so lost in thought about the blind stallion that opened up her eyes.
