Star Crossed Teens
“Are you sure this is a good idea Soarin’?” Braeburn asks.
Soarin’ nods. “We just have to be careful.”
“Alright… but.. what if we get caught?” Braeburn asks.
“We won’t” Soarin ’says, twirling Braeburn around.
He giggles then frowns. “Soarin’, my parents will get so mad if they find out we are talking. I know they are strict,” Braeburn said, “but still, it will be worse if we get caught.. “
Soarin’ hugs him. “I know I know. But I need you. I can’t lose you. We just have to be careful, please, don’t leave me.”
“Soarin’…” He sighs and sits down in the grass, “They check my letters all the time, you can’t write me. They make sure I’m at home all the time, so, this is a big risk right now. Maybe we should listen to them and stop talking…”
Soarin's eyes widen. “W-What?”
Braeburn looks up at him, then back at the ground. “I’m just going to get caught and even more restricted than I already am. What can we do? I really want to keep talking to you, but it’s hard…”
He whimpers and looks away from him. He gets up and places his hoof on his shoulder. He looks into his eyes and he looks into his. he wraps his arms around him and hugs him close, sobbing. He rubs his back and runs his hooves through his mane, trying to calm him down.
“Hey it'll all be okay, remember when we first met?” Soarin’ says.
He nods. “It was the last day of school, we were both in the library” he said, “It was cloudy outside, the clouds covered the sky like a dark, fluffy blanket. It was pouring rain, unusual for a summer day. You could hear the pitter patter of rain on the window, it- sounded like a song. I always thought rain sounded like a lullaby. Anyways, I was looking for a new book to read and I bumped into you- you were looking for a Daring Doo book, one of my favorite authors. And apparently one of yours too. We just started talking about his books and other books and you..” He giggles “you asked for my letter address and from there we just started talking and getting more and more close.”
He smiles. “That was a year ago today, can you believe it, a year together?!” He smiles wider and hugs him tightly.
He blushes and smiles. “And this year has made me happier than I ever been. But…” He frowns and hugs him tighter. “It has to end now. It’s all over. Everything I worked for… gone…” Tears flood his eyes and He tries to wipe them away rapidly.
Soarin’ takes his face in his hooves affectionately. “Look, sweetie, we can find a way. Everything will be ok.” Soarin’ says. “You can change my signature to a girl name. Soarina or something. We can just not send anything lovey dovey. We can meet up in secret when your family out of town or something, what do you think?”
“I don’t know”… Braeburn says, blushing as he holds his face.
“Please?” he says, getting on his knees and holding his hoof. ‘I beg you, please stay I can't lose you, pleeeeaaaassse, Braeburn.”
He giggles and smiles widely. “Alright Soarin’ Now get off the floor.”
“Yay!” he says, kissing his hoof and hugging him tightly.
If it Means Allot to You
Soarin sighed at the memory. It’s been awhile since he and Braeburn spoke. He missed him so much, but, there was nothing he could do. After the fight, they never spoke again. He tired to write to him, but, every word just sounded wrong. He scratched the sentence out, wrote a new one, then just tossed the whole letter away. This has been going on for years, ever since he joined the Wonderbolts.

“Hey lovebug, what do you plan on doing after school?” Said Bareburn, smiling at Soarin’
Soarin’ giggled and booped Braeburn. “I’m thinking about applying for the Wonderbolt Academy. “
Braeburn's smiled faded. “W-What? you promised you wouldn’t join, because you didn’t want to risk your life…”
“Sorry Brae, but, I changed my mind. I’ll be ok, hey, I might not even get in.”
“But.. you promised…”
“I know I did, but, I really want to do this.”
“Do you know how bad it’s been lately? I can’t lose you.”
“You won’t lose me.”
“Why don’t you just go into Culinary school like you said before? Remember? You want to make a pie bakery called Soarin’s Spectacular Pies. I think that’s a great idea.”
“Well, that could be my plan B.”
“Or plan A.”
“But I want to do something for Equestria.”
“Making pies is doing something.”
“Yes, but I’m sure as delicious pies are, it won't exactly save Equestria.”
“Why do you have to go off and play hero? Just stay here, open a pie shop, and, be safe.”
“Braeburn, lots of ponies want to open bakeries, restaurants, or whatever, but, not much want to join the Wonderbolts. They need pegasi right now. The Scouting Legion needs Earth ponies, The Canterlot Royal Guard need unicorns, and the Wonderbolts need Pegasi.”
“Well, let somepony else do it. I’m not loosing you to something so stupid!”
“The Wonderbolts are not stupid! You're my coltfriend! I thought you would be more supportive!”
“I just..just.. ugh! Whatever, I’m going for a walk.”
“Wait, Braeburn, are you going to-”
“I’m going for a walk. See ya later.”

Braeburn opens the door in a slam, waking up Soarin’. Soarin’ jumps, and runs out of the living room to hide in his room. He held his breath as he peaked out of the door, cautiously watching a stumbling Braeburn enter the house.
“Soarinnn where are yooou? I need to -hic- talk to you.”
Soarin glups, ducks his head, and crawls under the bead with a shaky breath.”
“Come oooonn Soarin’, heh heh, where you at -hic- buddy?
