It’s always the same thing. Every time I try to learn about love, I end up screwing up rather than making it work. I may not know much about love, but still it’s frustrating to say the least. *Sigh* Maybe if I look deeper into the subject, I might get it. I walk over to my bookshelf to see if there was anything else I could have overlooked. Making spells, how to use magic, drawing with your hoof... huh, nothing here that relates to love. Is this really the only book I have that that is related to love? May as well go to the library and see if there was anything that would help me. I put the books back and examined the room to see if I could try again. After a few seconds, I manage to teleport but it wasn’t where I wanted to be. I was on top of my roof. Ok… Clearly I haven’t realized that it was a bad idea. Whatever no more attempting to teleport until I get back. Wait… how would I be able to get down without it? I guess I’ll have to go back on my word and do just that. I attempted to teleport once more and this time I actually teleported to the ground. Finally. Now I can do what I wanted to do. I started to walk over to Canterlot library.
It wasn’t too noisy and it was ealry afternoon so it was still pretty quiet. I got to the door and opened it. It was cold as always but it wasn’t to bad so I digress.
“Good afternoon, Almond.” The librarian said with a smile.
I greeted her with a smile and said,
“Good afternoon to you.”
“You’re usually not here at this hour. What’s the occasion?” She asked.
She seemed a little tired for some reason. Maybe something was bothering her?
“Just looking for a spell book is all, and I’ll be out shortly,” I told her.
She nodded and went back to reading. I walked over to the long hallway of books and it looked like it went for miles. Each part was labeled in different parts of the section. Making hay, how to eat with silverware, how to take care of a filly, the list goes on. I continued to walk, and finally after what felt like forever, I managed to find the love section. Each book was similar in their own way, but each had their own reason to exist. I spotted two books that are love related however, one of them had a weird vibe to it. It was a dark green book with a horn on the cover. It was strange I’ll admit, but it piqued my interest. I was about to go over to the librarian but she seemed to be busy at the moment. I wasn’t in any rush, so I can just read it to see if it’s anything worthwhile. I sat down at a table and read the first sentence.
“To truely understand the meaning of love, you must first clear your mind.”
Huh? Maybe this is a bad idea? I’m confused but for some unexplained reason, it interested me further so I continued. For some reason I started to feel drowsy and light headed. I closed the book and fell asleep.
. . .
I woke up in some type of forest. I felt a gentle breeze on my face and I saw the grass was lighter than usual. The Everfree Forest, maybe? Nah, it was still daylight and it’s usually dark but if it’s not, then where am I? Well, this is odd. I was just reading a book a second ago and now I… Wait a second. Did I end up in a whole other dimension?! I couldn’t cast a spell so what gives? Well, since I couldn’t see anything related to a town, I decided to take the next best course of action: Look for the nearest cave. A bad decision? Probably but it’s better than staying out in the open. I walked around and saw a cave. I peeked in but I couldn’t see much. It wasn’t like any cave I’ve ever seen. It was much darker then the caves I’ve seen and usually I would see a dragon around here. Maybe this one was barren? Well it may be lame, but it’s the only choice I have for now. I attempted to lean in more; I ended up falling into the cave. I feel on my side and while it did hurt, it seemed that I suffered minor injury. Great, I get magically transported into a dimension that looks very similar to the Everfree Forest and to top it all off, I have a headache. What else could go wrong?
Just when I think nothing bad will happen, the world likes to prove me wrong. Even in a whole different dimension. Then again… I might as well look at the bright side, at least there aren’t any dragons around. I looked around but again it was too dark to see straight. I heard a something (or somepony) coughing witch caught my attention. I turned around and saw red sharp eyes staring at me.
“Ahem! May I ask what the hell you’re doing in my cave?!” The voice demanded.
The voice sounded like a girl but it sounded intimidating. I couldn’t see her but her eyes were a dead giveaway as where she was at. I didn’t want to anger her but what do I say to her? Ah, it’s so hard to think with this pounding headache. I held my head trying to think of what to say.
“Hey! I’m talking to you! Are you going to answer me or not?!” She yelled.
Her yelling was piercing my ears and my head was pounding even more. I just spouted the first thing I can come up with.
“Oh. Uh… Sorry. I was just looking around and I kind of feel into the cave. I’m sorry for intruding.” I said
Why do I feel like that was the wrong thing to say? She keeps looking at me and I started to feel more uneasy. I felt like I should run but I could trip if I do and even if that wasn’t the case, I would still have to worry about if she would catch me. She stopped glaring at me and said,
“Likely story. Well if you’re going to be here for a while I might as well tell you my name.”
She seemed to calm down but I better be ready to run just in case. All of a sudden a light went up and I saw the red eye pony.
“My name is Eclipse. As you can see I’m a Bat Pony. My family and I own most of the caves around here. What are you doing around these parts anyways?” She asked.
I was at a loss of words. This is the first time I’ve seen a Bat Pony. I’ve heard of them but never got a chance to speak to one nor see one. She had a dark purple mane and a gray coat that blended in the dark. I’m still scared of her but it’s still nice that I saw a Bat Pony. She started to glare at me again. I shivered and I felt my backbone shivering as well.
“Like I said, I was just doing some exploring and kind of fell in. I wasn’t trying to do any harm or trespass on anypony. It’s just I was lost and… Well…” I said still looking for words.
She raised an eye looking at me like I was crazy. Maybe I was but I’m telling the truth.
“Well… Okay. I believe you. My parents aren’t going to be home for a while. You want to get a little crazy?” She asked with a smirk.
“Beg your pardon? What do you mean by crazy? Aren’t you a little young to be doing things like ‘crazy’?” I asked concerned.
She looked at me confused. I don’t know what she’s planning but I hope it isn’t life threatening. Her eyes sharpened and yelled,
“Don’t make fun of me! I’m older than what I appear but I just look shorter than most ponies. Besides, you don’t look too classy yourself.”
Classy? I’ll say I’m not the most attractive Pony in Equestria, but I’m not that bad am I? I need to pick my next words carefully or it may be my last.
“I mean, we just met. I don’t think we can get ‘crazy’.” I said cautiously.
She stepped closer and I backed up a bit.
“Hey. We can do whatever we want. It’s not like there’s really any laws or anything.” She said proudly.
Technically… she’s right but… I don’t think there’s a way out of this. I could teleport but I could end up in a worse place and since she doesn’t seem like she’s going to kill me, I may as well stay here. Teleporting is going to be a last resort. Well if she’s telling the truth, I guess it wouldn’t hurt to find out what she means.
“Alright. Fine. I’ll take you up on the offer.” I said curiously.
She smiled and said,
“Great. Let’s get started.”
I feel as I’m going to regret it afterwards. She winks at me and pulls me back into a small opening, barely fitting the both of us inside. I saw her room and despite it being dark, I saw a bunch of board games. Nothing bad so far. She lit up the room and I saw spider webs all over the place. Hmm… maybe she collects spiders or something? I tuned around to see she wasn’t next to me. Where she go? She lifted me up and dropped me on the web.
“Careful there! You could have killed me!” I yelled.
She giggled and pushed me into another web. For some strange reason this looked like fun. Am I crazy for liking this? Maybe... I pushed her back into another web and she continued to laugh. I smiled as we continued to push each other into the webs.
. . .
A few hours had passed and she was panting. We both laugh and I helped her up.
“See? I told you it would be fun.” She said still panting.
“You’re right. It was fun though I’ll admit I was scared at first.” I said.
She went over to her sink and washed out the webs that where in her mane. She threw a towel and I caught it with my face.
“Thanks.” I said.
“Alright. I think you should start heading out. I’m going to work on getting myself cleaned up before my parents get home.” She said dropping the smile.
I looked at her with confusion as to what she means. I wasn’t about to argue back so I nodded and asked,
“Am I going to see you anytime soon?”
She seemed hesitant as I asked that.
“I don’t know. Just head out. My parents wouldn’t want to see somepony else here without them knowing about it.” She said still cleaning her mane.
“Ok. Bye for now.” I said, still smiling.
Before I could leave, she grabs onto my foreleg.
“Before you go. I just wanted to say…” She pauses for a second, blushing. “N-Never mind. I’ll see you around sometime.”
I crawled out of the hole I entered and saw a way up.
“Hey wait!” She yelled.
I stopped and looked into the hole.
“What’s your name?” She asked. “I didn’t get it.”
That’s right I never told her. I guess with all the fun we were having it must have slipped my mind.
“The name’s Almond.” I answered.
I heard a mumble, but I couldn’t make out what it was. I saw some type of map came from the hole.
“It will show you the way out. Now go before my parents see you.” She said.
I smiled once more and walked forward. Uh, thanks… I looked around and saw it was getting easier to see with each step I made. After about a few minutes, I ended up where I originally started. Well that was... exciting to say the least. As in, I wouldn’t mind doing that again... I do like her but she kind of scares me. She might have said, “I love you.” No that can’t be. Then again she was smiling and laughing… No, no I can’t. She’s just not the type for me. *Sigh* As long as I’m here, I may as well look around and see if there’s anything new. I just don’t get it through. Why was she in a cave or rather, why do they live in a cave? I guess there are some things I’ll never understand. Maybe being in the dark is just their thing. As I ponder the questions, I start moving in a random direction. It didn’t matter where I would end up just as long as it wouldn’t kill me.
I look up from my intense thought and it seems I ended up in a swamp. I heard a faint noise of something I can’t describe in the distance. The only thing I could tell for sure is that it was getting closer. I looked around; attempting to pinpoint the source of the sound, but it was to no avail. After looking around some more, I just decided it was imagination and l sat down. After all, I just got done playing with that Bat Pony and my eyes were feeling heavy. I lay down and went to sleep.
. . .
What felt like hours went by, and I woke up but I noticed a figure standing in front of me. I couldn’t make out much of it since it was standing in front of the sun. The only thing I could make out was that it was an Earth pony. In either case, I attempted to interact with the figure.
“Hello? Who are you?” I asked.
“Well hello there cutie. I haven’t seen you around here before.” She said seducing me.
This is… awkward to say the least. She moved out over the sun and I could see her. She was an Earth pony with a green mane and yellow coat. It matches the swamp look to be honest witch kind of scares me. Maybe I should act bold. Na, I can’t pull it off. Last time I tried that, I ended up getting beat up for it. I better just act normal.
“Well hello there miss. You look nice.” I said complimenting her.
“Really? You think so?” She asked blushing.
“Y-Yea. The mane matches the swamp very well. It’s almost like I’m looking another swamp.” I said nervously.
Did I really just say that? I facehoof on how stupid that sounded. I wouldn’t be surprised if she slapped me for it. After I removed the hoof out of my face, I noticed her standing closer to me than before. Yep. I’m getting slapped. Honesty, I deserve it for being an idiot.
“Why don’t you come closer?” She asked.
My eye was twitching as I realized my life might be over. I closed my eyes and waited for her to obliterate me. Ok, maybe I exaggerated a little but the point is I’m screwed. After a full minute, nothing happened. I opened one of my eyes and she seemed confused.
“Are you ok?” She asked.
This is a first. Normally, I would be beaten up but she seems to like my company.
“Would you like to come over to my place?” She asked kindly.
I’m still surprised she hasn’t beaten me up yet. I rather not anger her so I took her up on her offer and said,
“I’d love to.”
She giggled and said,
“Who says we couldn’t do it right here?”
“Wait what? Um... do what exactly?” I asked stuttering my words.
She smiled at me. I’m guessing she’s waiting for me to say something. What can I say exactly? What do I say? Well I’ve come this far. I guess I can’t really give up at this point. I opened my mouth but no words came out. I didn’t think I was this nervous. Finally I mustered up enough courage and said,
“Alright miss. If you want to do it then I’m all for it.”
Once again, I didn’t think it though. She giggled at me but this time for a sort of lust in her eyes. There was a short delay before she lunged at me. I was pushed on the ground and we started to tumble down the hill. With each second we were falling, my body was getting scratched up bit by bit. She was still giggling all the while which worried me. Was she trying to kill us both? I looked down and saw that we weren’t going to be on flat ground anytime soon. Screw it. I’m going to take my chances and try to teleport. Just when I was about to do that, she put something on my horn blocking out my magic. I was stuck tumbling and I had no way out. So this is how it ends? Death by falling. I guess it could be worse. I could be getting tortured to death or something. I noticed we were getting closer to the ground and I will say this. I regret almost nothing. Although I do regret not knowing what love is... Wait what? Just then, we hit a pile of mud. We are still alive? I got up and shook off the mud.
“So... did you like it or did you like it?” She asked smiling.
Honestly I’m more surprised that I’m still alive. I hesitated to look at her but I had to say something. I’ve kept calm all thought out. I can’t stop now.
“It was scary but... I guess being alive is a start so I can’t complain too much...” I said with my voice stuttering.
She seemed to ignore my concern and said,
“Swing by here sometime if you want to do it again.”
“I-I’ll keep that in mind. I may come back when I get the chance.” I said still scared.
She winks and waves at you, walking into the distance, past a couple of trees, and out of sight. *Sigh* I’m glad that’s over with. I don’t think I would have lasted much longer if things had continued the way they did. The day is still young, so I continued my journey into wherever I am. Maybe I might find some type of hospital around here. I mean, I already found a Bat Pony and a rough Earth pony so anything is possible. I walked straight hoping to find something useful. I started to feel more tired with each step. I felt like if I continued walking, I would die. I tried to remove whatever it was placed on my horn but it didn’t work. Great so I’m unable to cast magic now. *Sigh* Well it’s not the worse thing that’s happen to me. It doesn’t handicap me to much since I don’t use it on a regular basis.
I decided to stop and rest for a few minutes. Then that same pony from before came to mind. What if she showed up again? I wasn’t about to deal with that again so despite the pain I felt, I would continue to walk. My eyes started to feel heavy and my hoofs were slowly starting to give way. Just when I thought I was done for, I saw what looked like a hut. What’s a hut doing out here near the ocean? Never mind. It was better that I don’t question it. As I came closer to the hut, I noticed a girl sitting underneath it. Attempting to shield herself from the sun. Was she another Bat Pony or is Eclipse? Either way, I walked closer and made sure not to surprise her. The hut also appears to be have been hastily built. I guess I can’t complain since I’ve built worse. To make sure I didn’t assume that was the same mare, I would approach her normally. Better safe than sorry.
“Uh, miss? Would you want any help by any chance?” I asked.
She turned around and to my surprise, it wasn’t the same mare. She was an Earth pony who was light skinned and from the looks of her, she doesn’t go out very often during the day.
“Huh? Me? Oh, no. I’m fine.” She said.
She seemed very tired and distressed. I wonder if she’s hiding from somepony. Judging from her body language, she seemed to have just recently woke up.
“Are you sure? You seem like you’re a little distressed.” I asked worried.
I sat down next to her. Matching her gaze out into the ocean. She smiles and looks back out to the ocean.
“Isn’t it beautiful out there?” She asked.
She responded however, she ignored my previous question. I decided to go along with her and said,
“Yea. It really does.”
Her eyes seemed lifeless but it was kind of hard to tell since her mane was blocking her eyes. She looks back at me and asked,
“Have you ever wondered how it feels?”
How what feels? I pause as she said that. She stares at me with a faint smile.
“How what feels?” I asked confused.
She averred her attention back to the ocean.
“Nothing. Sorry for asking.” She said timidly.
I smiled as she said that. I didn’t mind her asking. I just didn’t know is all.
“No, it’s alright. You can tell me.” I said.
She didn’t look back at me but she didn’t ignore me ether.
“No. I’d rather not. We just met and I don’t want to take up your time.” She said still looking at the ocean.
I felt like I wouldn’t get anywhere if I forced her to answer. I decided to drop the subject and change it to something else.
“So... Why don’t you tell me a little bit about yourself?” I asked.
She scooted a little closer to me but still didn’t look at me. Did I scare her?
“Oh. Uh…okay..” She said pausing after every word.
She seemed to be very nervous. I’m going off on a guess here and say this is the first time anyone has talked to her. That’s impossible. She couldn’t be alone all her life could she? She looked back at me and her smile was gone.
“Well, sometimes I like to just come out here before the sun rises and just look out over the ocean. It’s really amazing. Just the waves lapping at the beach.” She said with a sad tone.
I patiently listen to what she had to say. Next thing I know we have been sitting here for what seemed like hours. Just talking. Getting to know her more and more.
“Why don’t you tell me about yourself?” She asked.
I don’t know how to respond. Nopony has ever ask about me nor given me the time. I felt a connection between us. Maybe she’s the one I’ve been looking for.
“So where are you from exactly? She asked.
Do I tell her the truth? Do I make it up? Would she even believe me if I told her where I was from? If this is indeed a different world, then she may not believe me. Well she’s been telling me about herself so lying would be a bad way to go.
“Well. I come from a different place then here. As weird as this sounds, it’s true.” I told her.
She didn’t change her body language or her eyes. I’ll say this, she is a hard pony to read. It’s kind of scary when you think about it.
You don’t look very on fire though.” She said calmly.
On fire? What does that mean? Is it a metaphor or does she mean literally?
“What?” I asked confused.
She moved her mane from her eyes and said,
“You said you were from a different place. You mean from another world correct?”
“Well... you’re not entirely wrong but...” I tried to find the words that would make sense. “I am from a different area. Similar to here but...”
I tried to say I’m from Canterlot but the words just wouldn’t come out. This is frustrating. Why can’t I speak normally around others? I changed my wording and said,
“First of all, there aren’t really ponies like you where I’m at. There isn’t anypony like you as far as I know. Everything where I’m at is built for us. Well, there’s some who do work, while others just...live.” I said still confused.
She seemed to have been listening to my story (or lack there of) the whole way though. She obviously seemed fascinated by the idea. She looked back at me and smiled.
“That sounds like a really weird place. Here everypony has to either make do with whatever they have, or go get it themselves.” She said
It sounds tough. And here I thought my life was difficult.
“Is that what you have to do? Or do you have a family that helps you out?” I asked.
She just starts at the floor. Something is on her mind. What it is I don’t know but it might have been what I said. I grew worried as time passed without her saying a word. I grabbed her by the shoulder and asked,
“Are you ok? Was it something I said? I hope I didn’t offend you.”
She shook her head and smiled.
No. it’s just that...” She paused and I noticed a tear in her eye. “My family left me a couple years back. I’ve been stuck living on my own. Getting whatever I can without the sun hitting me.” She said holding back her tears.
I take her hoof gently. I can tell it’s been hard to live by herself.
“I understand. You’ve been able to live by yourself though all that?” I asked.
Her eyes moved from the floor and looked at me.
“Somewhat. But...”
“But what” I asked interrupting her.
“I’ve never really met anypony like you before. Somepony so caring and affectionate. Even for somepony they barely even know. It’s amazing really. You’re one of a kind.” She said staring at me.
I was stunned by what she said, I just started at the ground, completely forgetting about my previous encounters with the other mares. She’s not like them. She’s kind, soft hearted and, cares for me not just because I’m there. She seems glad that I’ve been here for her the length of time that I have. As I continue to stare at ground, I hear her shifting around but didn’t know where. I glance over at her as she throws herself on me and starts to kiss me. I was completely taken back by what was unfolding, I instinctively wrap my hoofs around her and hold her tightly.
“I...I think I love you.” She said still holding me.
I smiled as she said that. I can say that I do like her for her.
“I...I love you too.” I said back.
She continued to kiss me as the sun slowly starts to set. I didn’t care for anypony else except the mare right in front of me. It was pitch black by the time we were done.
. . .
Some time had passed since then and she looked at me again with foggy eyes.
“Are you going to stay the night here? With... me?” She asked.
I knew I didn’t have a choice but at the same time I was happy to stay. I nodded at her and said,
“Of course I will.”
I lightly kiss her as we both drifted off into a peaceful slumber.
. . .
As the sun rose, I woke up to her with water right next to me. She smiled and pored some water into a cup.
“Good morning. Last night was amazing... I’m sorry I didn’t really know what to do. It was... my first time...” She said blushing.
I didn’t blame her. I probably wasn’t any better. I smiled and said,
“It’s alright. It was my first time as well.”
She sat down and moved her mane to cover her eyes.
“I can agree. It was pretty amazing. Well, I guess you should start heading out.” She said still blushing.
To be honest, I didn’t want to leave. I wanted to stay with her.
“Are you sure? After the night we spent together I’m not sure if I want to leave you.” I said with a faint smile.
She nods and said,
“Yea. I’m sure. We’ll see each other again soon and I don’t want to take up your time.”
She wasn’t but I can tell she was serious. It was then I noticed her eyes had some type of life back in them. She smiles at me and I smile back. I wave and continue off in the unknown world. I walked into the forest and saw the same mare from before. I did not want to deal with her again so I walked around and made sure to not make any noise that would alert her of my presence. There’s only one mare for me and I wasn’t about to break any hope I have. After I made sure she wasn’t in sight, I started to walk normally.
. . .
After an excruciatingly long walk that left me in the night, you came across a house with two signs on both sides. “Home of Nectar”. Huh, weird. Maybe I should go in and see if anypony’s inside. Was it a bad choice? Maybe but I rather not say out any longer then I have to. I walked up to the door and peek in. The room was mostly empty. Well, rather part of the room was empty. I saw a bed with some type of box and tools. Maybe they are a builder? It was then I noticed a mare curled up in a ball on the bed, staring out the window. I realize my mistake and quietly backed out. A creak of the door alerts her to my presence. Well this could end badly. She got up and runs up to me with amazing speed. Although, since the house was so small the house was really small and less spectacular.
“Who are you? How did you get here? I purposely built this place as far away from people as possible. “She asked panicking.
“I um…” I tried to explain myself but I was caught up at the moment. I shook my head and said,
“I was lost and was looking for somewhere to spend the night.”
She didn’t seemed pleased with my answer. She walked closer to the door and I backed up a little.
“Somehow I don’t believe you. But sure, I’ll let you crash here. You seem cool enough.” She said still not pleased.
Wait a second... She didn’t believe me but she’s letting me crash here? Something’s not right here. I was going to just run but it was then I realized if I did, I could run into that crazy Earth Pony. So... Stay here or risk running into her? As much as I hate to say this but I rather stay here. At least she doesn’t looking like she was going to kill me.
“I’m Nectar, if you didn’t realize from the signs outside. I’m not much of a people person but you seem kind of cute, so I don’t mind you.” She said.
I noticed but… Whatever that wasn’t important. She unlocked the door and I walked in. The air felt nice at least so it’s not hot in here unlike the swamp.
Listen. This might sound crazy... but I’ve been with three other mares in one day. I’m not really in the mood to do anything.” I said nicely.
She looked at me funny like I had said something crazy. Maybe I am but that doesn’t change anything.
“What? I didn’t mean...no. I’m so sorry if you thought...” She said sadden.
I felt bad for what I said. I quickly tried to apologize to fix the confusion.
No. I didn’t mean to come off as aggressive. I’m sorry. You’re not a bad mare and I just really messed up. I didn’t mean to be rude. I feel like such an idiot now. I’m s-“
She stopped me just before I could finish my sentence and playfully pushes me against the wall, trapping me in a corner. This isn’t going to end well I just know it.
“I might have apologized but that doesn’t mean I don’t still want some of you to myself.” She said with lustful eyes.
Well now I know where this is going. I tried to push her off me but it was no use. She was much stronger than me. She looks at me with almost the exact same form of lust in her eyes as the other mare did. Maybe it’s the same mare from before but in a different form. Is she a changeling? If I fought back, she probably would kill me but if I let her do whatever she plans on doing, I would be giving up the one I love. I was screwed ether way I put it. She took my hoof and pushed me towards her bed with a devious look on her face. She starts back at me with the same look and nods. She walked closer to the bed and as she got closer, she smiled widely and I shivered. This time I knew was going to happen and I couldn’t prevent it.
“You ready or what?” She asked.
I shook my head and said,
“C-Couldn’t we do something else? Like you know... Tumbling down the hill or something?”
She shook her head and grabbed a bottle that was filled with something. What it was I don’t know but I knew it couldn’t be good. Now I have to get out of here before it was too late. I attempted to teleport but I didn’t move. Huh? Why did I move elsewhere? She giggled and said,
“You really think I was going to let you out that easily? I had a barrier set up so any Unicorn who attempted escape would be pointless. It nullifies all magic but my own.”
This is the first time I’ve been this scared of my life. She put the bottle into my mouth and I was forced to drink it. After I drank the whole thing, I started to feel sleepy. My body started to feel numb. I couldn’t keep my eyes open and I feel asleep.
. . .
I woke up and saw the sun slowly start to rise over the horizon.
“Huh? Oh hey. Good morning.” She said smiling.
What did she do? Wait. I take that back. Only one of two things could have happened. One: She made out with me and put me to sleep or two: She conducted some experiments on me while I was passed out. Since I didn’t see any scars or injuries on my body, my guess was on the first one.
“G-Good morning.” I said hesitating.
Her smiles disappeared the second I said that. She turned around and washed out her hoofs.
You can leave whenever. I’m just going to chill out here.” She said coldly.
I guess this is my chance. I got up and said,
“Oh. Okay. Well see ya.”
I felt so...wrong. I can’t believe what happened. What will that other mare think of this if she found out? Just the thought of it scares me. I shook it off and went to leave but the door won’t budge. I look and see it was the same mare from the night before. I moved out of the way as she walked in.
“Oh hey. What are you doing here? She asked smiling.
I got nervous seeing as I’m here with another mare. This can’t be good.
“I was about to ask you the same thing.” I said fidgeting.
Nectar walked up to her but didn’t look at me.
“Oh, hi Sleepy. What are you doing here?” She asked.
So her name is Sleepy... That solves one thing but right now I’m more concerned over why she’s here. She just stares at Nectar. I noticed her eyes were avoiding Nectar and said nothing.
“Might I ask… Why the…” She said timidly.
I had to intervene before she finished her sentence.
“H-Hey guys. Why don’t we all just relax for a minute? Let’s just take a step back and look at this from a different angle...” I said worried.
Nectar glared at me. I shivered but I had to do something before it gets out of hand.
“Aw. Why don’t you tell poor Sleepy here what happened last night?” She asked maliciously.
Sleepy looks at me in the eye. A sharp pain goes though me. She directs her eyes back to Nectar. I knew it was a matter of time before something bad happened. I couldn’t tell her. I barely knew what happened but judging from Nectar’s look, I could tell something happened.
“Nothing happened between us. Nothing at all.” I said with a fake laugh.
Sleepy looks at me again. This time the same pain goes though me. Only it was more unbearding then before knowing I lied. I saw Nectar’s eyes... sharpen so to speak.
“We had some fun. That’s all. The special type of fun if you catch my drift.” She said mockingly.
I looked back at sleepy and I noticed her eyes had darkened. They went from being happy and hopeful to dark cruel eyes. I knew I couldn’t lie anymore.
“I figured…” She said with no emotion.
She turned around and walked out the door slamming it behind her. I could tell she was holding back her tears. Nectar looked back at me with a lustful smile.
“Wait!” I yelled.
“Now I get to keep you all to myself.” She said walking closer.
She grabbed my hoof and pulls me towards her. I was angry at her for spouting out what she did.
“Let go of me!” I demanded.
She gives me a look of pleading. I yanked her off me and ran out the door. What have I done? The one mare I loved and I did nothing to stop it. I have to get her back before I regret it for the rest of my life. I don’t care if it is a dream, world whatever. I can’t let it end here. Not like this. I looked around and tried to find her. Unfortunately I never bothered to map the place so I don’t know where I am. That won’t stop me though. I’ll run around the world until I find here. I tempted to remember where the hut was and looked around to pinpoint where I am. I scan the area and realized where it was. I was straight in front of me so I bolted as fast as I could. A few minutes later, I arrived at the hut but she was nowhere to be found. I grew worried and the longer it went on, the more likely I’ll never see her again. Maybe Eclipse could help me. I ran over to the cave I first arrived at and of course it was still dark as before. I forgot that there was nothing there so I fell down. I can’t afford to stop right now. I have to ignore the pain and talk to Eclipse. If I’m lucky, she might have seen Sleepy.
“Eclipse? Hello? I need to talk to you!” I yelled.
“Get the hell out of here!” She yelled.
I jumped back at the power of it. I can assume she already knows about it. I could hear her but I couldn’t pinpoint her location. I was running blindly but I didn’t care. All I wanted was to talk to Sleepy. I came around a corner to see her hoof around Sleepy. Sleepy had tears in her eyes. My heart grew weak but I had to proceed or I may regret it for the rest of my life. I walked slowly and when she saw me, she walked up to me with her eyes red from the crying. Eclipse walked up to us and glared at me.
She doesn’t want to talk to you! Now just leave!” She demanded.
I ignored her claim and stared at her eyes. I knew she was hurt but what could I possibly say in this case? It’s very unlikely she would believe me at this point. What felt like an eternity to me passes. I maintain eye contact with her. Tears start to form in her eyes again.
“How could you do that to me? I thought what we had was... Special. You stayed there with me. I shared deep secrets with you and you go do... that.” She said still crying.
“Sleepy...I...I can’t tell you how sorry I am for what happened. I never want to betray you or stay with another mare. I know what happen is my fault and I can’t make excuses. I should have said no and left even if it meant sacrificing my life...”
Eclipse walked closer to me and slapped me.
“Shut the hell up! She doesn’t want to hear any lies!” She yelled.
I grew angry with her. I wasn’t about to lose to a loud mouth so I did something I should have done before.
“You shut up you... you… Stupid Bat Pony! I came here to fix the mistake I made not to hear your loud mouth. Now back off before you do something I’ll regret!” I yelled.
Her eyes widened and her sharp tongue was silence. That was the first time I’ve ever fought back with anypony. I could feel tears forming in my own eyes. Eclipse stayed silent.
“How many others have you done it with? How many others are you planning on doing it with? She asked looking directly at me.
I directed my eyes back Sleepy.
“I only want to be with you... You’re the only one I care for. I’m telling you the truth. You’re the only gem I would stay with. I would sacrifice my life if that’s what it will take to prove it.” I said crying.
Eclipse laughed and said,
“You probably still will.”
I was about to lash out again but... I didn’t want any more pain or suffering. I just wanted one thing and that was to be with Sleepy. I glared at Eclipse but didn’t say anything. Just then I heard another voice.
“Hello? Is anypony here?” It called out.
Oh...no. This was the last pony I wanted to see or hear. This isn't going to be pretty. After a few moments later, she is here with the rest of us. I stepped back to avoid her line of fire. Could anything else go wrong? Eclipse walked over to the other pony and said,
“Are you that blind? He’s probably going to do the rest of us. He probably doesn’t even care about any of us.”
I don’t care if she mad mouths me to her but I will not let her do it in front of Sleepy. Finally I just couldn’t hold my anger anymore and said the first thing that came to mind.
“Shut your mouth you little bitch! I don’t want to hear any more of your stupid talk for the rest of the time I’m here!” I yelled.
Without thinking, my hoof raises. Time seems to stand still. A couple of moments later, all I feel is pain in my hoof. I almost him hit her but I directed my hoof to the cold ground. My hoof was bleeding from the impact. Sleepy and the other pony are sitting next to me consoling me. Eclipse gives me the same painful look from before. I couldn’t take it anymore. I had to get out of there as far as I could. I ran out of the cave as fast as my legs could take me. If I saw them again, it would be to soon...I continued running. Past the hut. Past the swamp. Past Nectar’s house. I grew tired and passed out...
. . .
What felt like hours turned to days, then weeks staying away from anypony. Living off the land, I don’t interact with anypony. Just then somepony comes along the path I ran weeks ago. They seem to be looking for somepony. Could it be me? I got up and walked over to them seeing what they wanted. Apparently they found a body... in the ocean...by a hut. They wanted to see if I could identify who it was. I followed them back to the same hut I first met Sleepy. They have a stretcher out that has a body on it with a tarp over the body. They slowly pulled back the tarp... My face grew with dread and my stomach felt sick. It was the same girl I met almost a month ago. The girl who trusted you... the girl who loved you...
“It’s thought that it was a suicide. Are you able to tell us who this girl is?” They asked.
I felt sick as they asked that. It... It...was Sleppy. How could I be so selfish and leave her? That broke the last straw. I started sobbing. It turned into crying... Soon there are others who are comforting me.
“Don’t worry. She’s in a good place now.” One voice said.
That doesn’t change the fact that it was my fault for leaving her! If I wouldn’t have come here in the first place, wouldn’t have gotten attached to her, none of the would have happened!” I yelled.
If only I was strong enough to save stayed by her... I got up and walked away slowly. One of the ponies stopped me but I ignored it.
“Wait! She left a note... It was directed to you.” He said.
I stopped but didn’t turned around. He handed me the letter and I opened it. I looked at it and it read,
“I hope you know that I will always love you. Even when I’m not there, remember that you were my first and I’m glad I spent my first with you. You stayed there with me even if you didn’t have to. That’s what makes you special. Even now, I’m still going to love you. I hope I’m always on your mind. Because you will always be in mine.”
I smiled but only barely. I continued to walk away and by the time I was done walking, it was night time. I decided to go to sleep and maybe... just maybe it was all a bad dream.
. . .
I woke up and saw that I was back at the library again. Was it all a dream? It felt too real though. It was close to nighttime and I saw the librarian next to me.
“Are you alright?” She asked worried.
I nodded and got up from my seat.
“I’m fine. Just a bad dream is all.” I told her.
I knew it was a lie but I didn't want to worry her. I grabbed the book and put it back in the right place.
“Are you sure?” She asked worried.
I nodded and waved back at her and left the library. I felt empty inside and I didn't want to be bothered by anypony right now. I decided to just go home and sleep the day away.
