Love Through The Impossible
Queen Celestia heard giggling from inside her daughters' room and she could help but smile. Opening the door with her magic, Queen Celestia gazed at her seven beautiful daughters.
"Good evening Mother." Said Sunset Shimmer. This was Celestia's eldest child, she was a unicorn and had an amber coat, a fiery red and yellow mane and tail, and dazzling turquoise eyes. She was kind to the subjects of Equestria, always willing to help in what ever way she could.
"Good evening Sunset." Celestia replied with a smile and Sunset was quick to return it.
"Good evening Mother, aren't the stars so bright and beautiful tonight?" Said Fluttershy. Celestia's second eldest. Fluttershy was a light yellow pegassus with a light pink mane and tail, so too had beautiful turquoise eyes. Although timid and shy, Fluttershy had a heart of gold, and loved to care for small creatures.
"Why yes they are Fluttershy..." Celestia responded, lightly taping her daughter on the nose. "just like you." Fluttershy blushed at the comment.
"Thank you Mother." She said.
"Greetings Mother! You are looking quite lovely tonight." Said Rarity, the third oldest. She was a majestic white unicorn, with a royal purple mane and tail and sapphire blue eyes. Rarity loved making dresses to help her subjects remain in the latest style. She was generous and had a great eye for detail.
"You say that every night." Celestia said.
"And I always mean it Mother!" Rarity replied with a smile.
"Well thank you my dear." Celestia smiled back.
"Howdy Mother!" Greeted Applejack, the fourth born child in Celestia's family. She was an orange earth pony with a blonde mane and tail green eyes. She was hard working as the day is long, and could even become stubborn in letting others help her. Applejack was known most in her family for being honest.
"Hello Applejack." Celestia replied.
"Hi Mother!" Rainbow Dash said. She was the third youngest in the royal family. Rainbow Dash stood up to her name, she was a cyan pegasus with a rainbow colored mane and tail. She had Magenta eyes and loved to race and fly as fast as she possibly could. Although she loved to push her limits, she made sure that she wasn't being reckless. Rainbow was known for her Loyalty to her family.
"Good evening Rainbow Dash!" Celestia responded.
"Hello Bestest-Mother-Ever!" Called Pinkie Pie, Celestia's second youngest. Pinkie Pie was very hyper and chipper. She was a light pink earth pony with a hot-pink mane and tail. Pinkie Pie loved to keep the subjects in Equestria smiling and often threw parties of any kind. She loved any kind of food containing sugar. Pinkie Pie was known throughout Equestria for bring fun and Laughter to every pony.
"Hello Pinkie Pie!" Celestia said.
Queen Celestia resumed to the next bed, which was empty.
Celestia smiled as she gazed at the lavender filly that sat at her window.
"Good Evening Twilight." The Queen said.
Twilight Sparkle was the youngest in her family. A lavender alicorn with a dark blue cobalt mane and tail with pink and purple highlights. She had beautiful Amethyst eyes that sparkled and glimmered when she smiled. Twilight was known for her great magical capabilities at her age.
The young filly sighed, not taking her eyes off of what she was looking at. "Good evening Mother." She said, her voice, unlike the rest of her sisters, held little cheer.
"What is wrong my little pony?" Queen Celestia asked in a kind and Motherly tone.
"Mother, what's it like?" Twilight asked.
Celestia gave her a confused look. "What's what like dear?"
Twilight looked up from her window and pointed downward. "What's it like to walk on two legs, and use hands instead of magic to pick things up? What's it like without wings or magic?" She asked.
Queen Celestia looked at what her daughter was pointing to and sighed. Twilight spoke of the humans that lived down below. Celestia was often worried about Twilight's great curiosity of humans. Based off of the Queens memories of humans, they were foul and showed no mercy to other magical creatures. They would take any chance to capture and kill a pony or other magical creature and show it off as a trophy. Humans were bad, and Celestia was determined to keep her daughters away from them.
"Mother, is there something wrong, did I say something?" Twilight asked timidly and fearfully at she watched her mother glare down at the world below.
Celestia shook her head and looked at her daughter. "No my dear. It wasn't you." She replied.
"Oh, than would you mind answering my question?" Twilight asked again.
Queen Celestia chucked a bit. "Okay my little pony, time for bed."
"But Mother, you never answered my question." Twilight protested as she slid under the cool sheets. "What's the human world like?"
She asked a bit too loudly. At the sound of the word 'human', all chatter in the room amongst the others stopped as Twilight's sisters stared at her.
The queen sighed. "Humans are...bad, darling." She answered.
"How are they bad, what did they do?" The young filly asked.
"They..." Celestia stopped when she realized what she was about to say. At this age, she wouldn't understand. She thought. "Enough questions for tonight."
"But Mother." Twilight groaned.
"Enough." Celestia said, her voice stern. Twilight shrunk down into her bed as she gazed fearfully at her mother.
The queen sighed. "Good night Twilight."
Celestia then proceeded to put the others to bed. Twilight gazed in the opposite direction out her window.
"Good night girls." Celestia said with a small smile.
"Good night Mother." All the girls except Twilight said.
"Twilight?" Celestia said.
"Good night...Mother." Twilight said, her voice sad. She didn't understand why her mother was so protective about humans. They seemed to interesting, and yet, when she tried to aced her mother about what book wouldn't tell her, her mother would get mad.
"Good night." Celestia said, her voice sad. I'm sorry, but you'll understand someday. The Queen thought.
After she was sure that her mother and sisters were asleep, Twilight crept out of bed and snuck to her window. she gazed downward, looking at the lights that filled the human streets. Although her world was similar, Twilight wanted to know about this strange world below hers.
"Humans..." She sighed. "What could be so bad about humans."
Memories flashed. Sounds echoed. Voices rang.
"Get them all!" A human yelled.
Other humans ran with weapons down into the valley.
"Please, we just want to live in peace, we don't mean any harm!" Sombra called to the charging humans.
Celestia stood behind him, her six daughters standing behind her, and a newborn foal in her arms. "They aren't stopping."
"Stop, please!" Kind Sombra yelled.
The humans kept coming. "We don't want peace, we want your magic!" The leader called as he neared Sombra.
King Sombra's eyes widened. "Run Celestia!" He commanded.
"But what about-"
"RUN!!!" He bellowed.
Celestia hugged him quickly. "I loved you."
"And I love you. and always will." Sombra said. "I'll hold them off. get every pony to safety!"
Celestia obeyed, taking her children and running quickly. "Everypony, follow me to castle, hurry!" She called.
As told, the subjects of Equestria quickly ran in pursuit of their queen. Celestia knew that she daren't look behind her, otherwise she might make herself turn back.
They reached the thrown room of the castle. Celestia looked out to see Humans approaching. Suddenly, Sombra appeared, beginning to fend them off. Celestia and Sombra both noticed that their were too many humans, and something had to be done.
She rushed out to help to have A golden key appeared in front of her, and she looked at her husband in surprise. He gazed at her. "Do it." He said. More humans began to attack Sombra, and his attention was quickly turned.
"But you'll die!" Celestia called back.
"Just Do it!" Sombra yelled as she continued to fend off the humans as much as he could. "Tell Twilight that I love her, okay!"
"I will!" Celestia promised as she stated to run. Tears streaming down her face as she entered the castle.
Using her magic, she opened a secret door in the floor of the thrown room. Everypony watched as a large magical 'machine' lifted out from below.
Gripping the key with her magic, Celestia whispered. "I love you." She shoved the key into the machine and turned it.
She turned to her subjects, her horn charging up. "Brace yourselves every pony!" A large bubble appeared around the castle as the ground began to shake. Cracking could be heard below, and slowly but surely, Eqeustira began to lift from the ground. The bubble protected the castle and every pony in it from the large earthquake that the lifting of their entire country caused.
After what seemed like hours, Equesrtia reached it's peak in the sky. Equestria had been placed on a large cloud and would forever remain there, away from the human race. Celestia wondered the streets of her kingdom, looking for Sombra, in the small hope he could be alive.
The queen turned a corner and gasped, gripping Twilight tighter in her arms. She gazed at Sombra lying there.
Queen Celestia shot up from her bed, beads of sweat pouring from her forehead. She breathed heavily.
She lied there for a few moments. Her dream wasn't truly a dream, and she knew it. It was a memory. A memory of how humans had killed her beloved husband. The doctors discovered that the humans had killed him before Equestria had 'taken flight'. Thanks to them he was gone.
She glared down at them from her bedroom window as she remembered what she had done to everypony in Equestria after that. Everyones' memories, even her daughters' memories of that day were erased. Everypony except Celestia had forgotten. She didn't want to forget. She wanted to remember forever how bad humans were, and she wanted to remember exactly why she hated them.
Love Through The Impossible
"Time to get up, Girls!" Called a voice.
Everyone in the room groaned.
"Can you please give us five more minutes Subrano?" Rainbow Dash complained.
"No!" Replied the Royal Adviser as he flew into the room. "Your Mother needs to speak with you girls!"
"Please Please Please with a cherry on top!" Begged Pinkie Pie.
Subrano shook his head firmly. "I said n-"
"Pleasepleasepleasepleaseprettyplease!"
"NO!" Subrano exclaimed "Now get UP! He commanded.
With irritable groans, the girls got out of bed.
"Lazy teenagers." Subrano muttered to himself as he left the room.
Sunset Shimmer sat at her mirror, using her magic to lazily run a brush through her messy red-yellow mane. The twenty-two year-old princess yawned and looked over at her younger twenty year-old sister, Rarity.
"It's sad we have to get up so early, I was having the most wonderful dream!" She exclaimed.
"Ooh! What was it about Rares?" Pinkie asked as she took a seat at her mirror.
Rarity's cheeks lit up. "I...uh...hehe..."
"Ah bet it was about a boy." Applejack whispered to Rainbow Dash, who gagged.
Rarity blushed more.
Applejack Rainbow, and Pinkie erupted with laugher as the high-hoofed one another.
Sunset rolled her eyes with an amused smile, and Fluttershy giggled.
Rarity cleared her throat and glared at them. "You three are very unladylike."
"Hay!" Sunset Shimmer exclaimed. "Where's Twilight?"
They looked around the room, finding no trace of their sixteen year-old sister.
"Oh my!" Fluttershy exclaimed. "Mother will be upset when She finds out Twilight's not here."
"Well...I guess we'd better go, you know how Subrano is when we're late." Rarity said.
"Ah hope Twi is okay, I would hate fer somethin' to have happened to er" Applejack said with a worried expression as they left the room.
"You and me both." Sunset replied.
"Good morning girls." Queen Celestia greeted cheerfully.
"Good mooring Mother." The girls said unison.
Celestia looked over the girls and frowned. "Where's Twilight?"
Sunset Shimmer stepped forward. "We couldn't find her anywhere Mother, she wasn't there when we were getting ready."
"She wasn't even there when we woke up." Fluttershy said.
The Queen gave a tiered sigh. "Well, if you see her, tell her I wish to speak to her."
"Yes Mother." The girls replied again.
"Okay," Celestia said. "now for your list of duties for today." The Queen turned to see Subrano float in, carrying in their lists.
"I just realized," Pinkie Pie giggled as she whispered to her sister Rainbow Dash. "she said duty." The two girls giggled while Rarity rolled her eyes.
"Yes Pinkie, that was really mature." Rarity said flatly.
Pinkie and Rainbow continued to giggle.
"Thank you Subrano." Queen Celestia said, addressing the breezie.
"You are welcome your Majesty!" Subrano replied.
As Celestia began to read off their duties for the day, Sunset Shimmer looked behind her. "Where could she be?"
Somewhere on the edge of Equestria, a young, sixteen year-old lavender mare was flying around with her dragon.
"Look Spike!" Twilight exclaimed. "There it is!" She gestured to a large air-ship sitting on the very edge of Equestria.
Fighting through the strong winds of her mother's storm barrier, Twilight flapped her wings as hard as she could to get to the ship.
They finally reached it and ran below deck. Twilight lit her horn and looked around the ship.
"Twilight? What are we doing here?" Spike asked, his eyes full of fear.
"I wanted to see if we can find anymore human treasures." Twilight replied.
Lightning cracked and loud thunder followed suite, causing Twilight to loose her concentration. Her magic light went out and left them in the dark.
"Twilight it's creepy in here!" Spike said, clinging fearfully to her back.
"Oh Spike, don't be such a chicken." Twilight said, trying to get her magic to re-activate.
"I'm no chicken." Spike said, clearly offended.
Finally, Twilight was able to activate the spell again, and light up the room again.
She gasped. "Oh my...Oh my goodness!" She exclaimed.
"What?! What is it?!" Spike asked, very alarmed by Twilight's sudden outburst.
"Look!" She said as she raced to a nearby table. Spike gazed down at the item on the table.
"What is it?" He asked.
"I don't know, but I bet Derpy will." Twilight replied as she place the item in her bag.
Twilight looked around the room some more. "Ooh! Look over there!"
She raced over to large chest and opened it. Twilight gasped. Inside were old cloths and a few other things.
But what had caught Twilight's attention, was what was sitting on top of all of it: A picture.
The picture was in a beautiful silver frame and depicted a man, a woman, and a young boy.
The man, had deep blue skin, electric blue eyes, and silver colored hair. Her wore a crown atop his head.
The woman, had lavender skin, blue eyes, and sky blue hair with white, light pink, and light purple highlights. She too, wore a crown atop her head.
And the young boy, had light peach skin, blue eyes, and blue hair.
Twilight looked at them, smiling. They looked so happy. She gazed at the boy. Even though he looked younger than her in this picture, she thought that he looked a bit handsome.
"Uh, Twilight." Spike said, waving a claw in front of her face. Twilight shook herself out of her stupor.
"Yes?" Twilight replied.
"Why were you staring at that picture?" Spike asked.
"I...I was just looking at the picture, nothing more." Twilight replied. "Now come on, lets go see if Derpy knows what this thing is." She stuffed the picture inside her bag and levitated Spike onto her back.
Suddenly, they both heard a buzzing sound, and they saw a blue light approaching from the upper deck.
"Oh no." Twilight muttered.
She dived behind some barrels, hoping to not be found.
"What is it?" Spike asked in whisper.
"Twitter-Mights." Twilight replied quietly.
Spike's eyes widened and Twilight quickly covered his mouth before he screamed.
The Twitter-Mights flew around in the room, looking for any intruders. When Queen Celestia used her magic to create the storm-barrier, she placed Twitter-Mights in the barrier to guard it. They would blast you to bits no matter who you were, which was why ponies were forbidden to be anywhere near the storm barrier.
The Twitter-Mights began to leave the room, and fly to the upper deck, but Spike sneezed. The Twitter-Mights turned and suddenly blasted the barrels, reveling The princess and the dragon hiding behind it!
The began to fire lightning bolts at them. Twilight quickly levitated Spike onto her back and ran for her life, evading lightning strikes.
She ran to the upper deck and took flight, fighting against the strong winds of the storm barrier and avoiding getting hit by lightning.
A large strike for the Twitter-Mights set the end of Twilight's tail on fire.
"We're almost there!" Twilight called back to Spike.
"You know, I think you might be on fire to get there." Spike half joked.
"What do you mean by tha-?" Twilight looked back and saw her tail on fire. "Ahhhhhhhhhh!"
"I'll try to put it out!" Spike said as Twilight flew around in a panic.
"Yes please do!" Twilight cried.
Suddenly, and strong wind caught Twilight and launched her forward and downward at the same time.
"Ahhhhhhh!" They both exclaimed.
"Incoming!" Spike yelled. They launched out of the storm barrier, headed strait for the ground!
CRASH
"Uuuuug." Twilight groaned.
"You can say that again." Spike said weakly.
"Uuuuug." Twilight repeated.
Spike helped Twilight to her hooves. She stumbled around for a moment before she gasped. "Is my tail okay?!"
She looked back at her slightly singed tail and frowned.
"Could've been worse." Spike commented.
"True." Twilight replied. "Now why don't we get this thing to Derpy."
Spike nodded. "Yeah."
The two flew a few miles to the outside of Equestria's main borders. Outside of it a ways, was a small house.
Twilight landed and knocked on the door. "Hello, is any pony home?"
"Coming!" A voice from inside called.
After a few seconds, a gray colored mare with a blonde main, and wonky gold eyes opened the door. "Hello Twilight, how are ya?" She asked.
"I'm doing fine Derpy." Twilight replied with a smile.
"Come in, come in! I just finished some tea, would you like some?" Derpy asked.
"Some tea would be lovely, thank you!" Twilight said as she entered the house.
Derpy raced into the kitchen and grabbed three cups filled with tea and brought them into the dining room. "I'll be back with the muffins in a moment." She winked and headed back into the kitchen.
"Ooh, I wonder which type she made this time!" Spike said with excitement.
After a minute, Derpy re-entered the room with a platter of muffins in her mouth. She set them on the table and smiled. "I made blueberry vanilla this time."
"Oooh!" Spike and Twilight said at the same time. Spike even began to drool a bit, but wiped his mouth when Twilight elbowed him.
"Here ya are!" Derpy said giving a muffin to each of them and then grabbing one for herself. "So...What brings you two here?"
"Oh!" Twilight exclaimed. "Derpy you won't believe what we found!" She gave the bag to the pegasus.
Oooh! More Human Stuff eh?" Derpy said curiously as she began to look in the bag.
She pulled out the first item that Twilight had found and began to examine it. "Let me see here." It was an a cylinder shaped thing with glass lenses at each end, it also could grow and shrink.
"Oh my goodness! I haven't seen one of these in forever!" Derpy exclaimed.
"What is it?!" Twilight asked.
"It's a star-gazer!" Derpy said. "With this thing you could see all the planets and stuff!"
"That's so cool!" Spike exclaimed.
Derpy opened her window. "You can even look at the sun with these things!"
The 'Star-Gazer' was pointed toward the sun and Derpy yelled. "OUCH!"
"The Sun?!?!" Twilight exclaimed, suddenly remembering. "Oh dang it!"
"Oooh! Hot! Oooh! Oooh! Eye! On! FIRE!!!" Derpy yelled, dancing in panic around the room.
"The Sumer Sun Celebration preparations!" Twilight said. "Oh! Mother is gonna kill me!"
"Oh! I forgot about that!" Spike said.
Twilight quickly grabbed the 'Star-Gazer', their muffins and stuffed them in her bag. "Thank-you Derpy! See you at there Summer Sun Celebration!" And with that, she raced out the door with Spike on her back.
"Your welcome honey!" Derpy replied, after pulling her head out of the water-filled kitchen sink. "Oooh! That's gonna be hurtin' for a few days." She said to herself.
