Wibbily Wobbly Timey Wimey Stuff
Eighteen years ago, a little unicorn was left on the steps of a foster home in Trottingham. She was an ivory colored pony with a spiky, red, uncontrollable mane. She was found by the maid, wrapped up in a rainbow scarf, sleeping contently. The mare rushed the filly into the cottage, being cautious not to wake the other children. So many questions rushed through the pony's mind. Who would leave their child in a little village like Trottingham? Why did they abandon such a beautiful foal? Why?
Just then, the tiny filly opened her eyes, and the pony gasped. Her eyes were the most intense blue eyes she had ever seen! They were a deep, dark blue, like the night sky. The unicorn smiled at her, and a little spark of sky blue magic sparked from her horn, conjuring a scroll. The mare was surprised that such a young foal could control enough magic to bring forth a scroll. She carefully opened the scroll, and a read the note:
"This is Wibbily Wobbly. Interesting name, I know. I hope no one teases her about it when she grows up. But I digress. It pains us to give her up, but it must be done. My wife and I travel so much, and we get into a lot of trouble. Before she was born, an enemy of mine threatened to harm our child. We barely escaped, and he promised he would find us. She was born on one of our travels, and it was bittersweet. We both knew we had to let her go. We cried for so long, wishing there was another way. But there wasn't. We wrapped her in a memory, kissed her goodbye, and left her here. We will never see her grow up, or teach her magic.
One day, she will ask what her parents were like. Tell her that we traveled all over, and helped ponies, saved them. Tell her she had here mother's beautiful coat, the red hair her dad never had, and the eyes of a distant memory. Tell her we will try our hardest to find her again. And most importantly, tell her we love her, more than anything."
The parchment was tear stained and the ink was smudged. But at the bottom, there was a beautiful drawing of a rose.
Wibbily Wobbly grew up into a clever, talkative, and caring young filly. She was a genius since the beginning, and used magic responsibly. She still had the same ginger hair and blue eyes that she had the night she was found. She wore a pair of thick glasses now, and always wore the rainbow scarf, even if she was constantly slipping on it and tripping.
As her parents predicted, the other ponies teased her about her name and appearance, but the maid, who grew attached to her, taught her well. She taught her to ignore the children, and to not fight back, but also to love and care for the friends she had.
Sometimes, Wibbily Wobbly would grab her sketchbook and sit under the large oak tree in the backyard and imagine her parents and herself on adventures. She would draw all the places she wanted to go one day. Trottingham was nice and peaceful, but she wanted adventure! She wanted to meet the princess, explore new lands, and read every book in Equestria! But for now, she was stuck with the annoying children.
But she had Feather Duster, the maid who found her. She was one of her only friends, along with Featherstone, her Pegasus friend, ( who was also Feather Duster's daughter). Near bedtime, when the other fillies and colts where having pillow fights and stocking up on midnight snacks, Wibbily Wobbly would walk to Featherstone and Feather Duster's cottage near the forest. Feather Duster would sit in her reading chair and tell the children stories. She would then give them a snack and send them back. Sometimes, on weekends, she would let them sleep over. They would grab their quilts and make a big bed in front of the fire. They would chat about their lives, and Feather Duster would sing them to sleep. They would wake up and eat pancakes for breakfast, and be sent to their normal lifes. It was the same every day, but Wibbily Wobbly was determined to change that one day.
"Do you really have to go, Wibs?" Said a usually peppy Featherstone. Her robins egg blue coat was dull, her gray mane was unusually flat, and her silver eyes were tearful. Wibbily looked at her friend. Her intense blue eyes teared up and dripped onto her pale coat. She hugged her friend and they cried together. They eventually let go of each other.
"Remember when we were kids, and I said that I wanted to travel? Well, it's time for me to move on. I can't stay in Trottingham. I need to find my parents. I promise, I'll keep in touch." she said. Featherstone put her head down, but lifted it back up three seconds later.
"Why did you choose Ponyville again? I mean, It's not much bigger than Trottingham?" Featherstone asked.
"Because so many ponies go through there, that I'm bound to at least see them. See, on the letter my parents left with me, there's a drawing of a rose. Maybe that's a clue." Wibbily looked at the sun. "Well, I'd better get going. I don't want to miss my train." She gave another tearful embrace to her friend, picked up her saddle bags, and walked down the dirt road, leaving her home behind forever.
