World Record Champion Rainbow Dash In Jail?

A young pegasus mare was found dead early this morning just outside The Golden Carriage Hotel in downtown Manehattan just hours after the conclusion of this year's Equestrian Games.

In what appears to be a gruesome suicide, Wonderbolt-hopeful Scootaloo was found dead just after 3 AM by a hotel employee leaving his shift. Some attendees of the Wonderbolt's celebration, hosted at the same hotel, were also leaving at the same time and were quick to arrive on scene and were able to identify the victim almost immediately. Response by the local police and Royal Guard was also swift due to all four Equestrian Princesses being in attendance of the party as well, though Princess Celestia, Princess Luna, and Princess Cadence had left the hotel hours before the horrible scene was discovered.

Multiple witnesses confirmed that Princess Twilight Sparkle, Equestria's newest royal alicorn, was one of the first ponies to rush to the scene, as well as other members of the fabled Elements of Harmony. However, in a shocking and outrageous display of barbarism, newly promoted Wonderbolt 1st Lieutenant Rainbow Dash savagely attacked Princess Twilight Sparkle without reason or mercy, causing multiple bystanders to intervene and restrain the rogue pegasus. Wonderbolt Captain Spitfire and 1st Lieutenant Soarin were also quick to arrive on scene and are believed to have taken Rainbow Dash into custody, although the Royal Guard nor the Wonderbolts have confirmed this as of yet.

One witness, hotel employee Hot Plate, saw the entire fight. "She was out of control. She hit the princess right in the face! She knocked over two other mares and her own teammates had to restrain her. She's crazy!" he said, recalling the chaos and shock.

Though investigators have ruled the victim's death a suicide, they are currently investigating if Rainbow Dash's savage assault on Princess Twilight Sparkle is related to the incident at all. "We cannot rule out anything at this time, though this is definitely the strangest thing I have ever encountered. And I've met Discord!" one investigator has stated, though he wished to remain anonymous. It is believed that the Royal Guard will be handling the investigation, though there is some speculation the investigation may be tainted due to the fact that the Captain of the Royal Guard is none other than Princess Twilight Sparkle's brother, Captain Shining Armor.

Princess Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash have no known bad blood between them. Close friends of Her Highness report that they are the closest of friends as well but refuse to comment on why Rainbow Dash would turn violent. Members of the Wonderbolts also declined to comment on the friendship between the two. The only connection available on public record is that Scootaloo had tried out for the Wonderbolt's Academy during last year's trial examination but had failed multiple stages despite being sponsored by Rainbow Dash herself. Princess Twilight Sparkle, nor any of the other princesses, are involved in the judging for new recruits.

Rainbow Dash had just been promoted to Commander of the Wonderbolt's elite Competitive Flying Team, who participates in the Equestrian Games and other high profile races. Her promotion was unanimously approved by the Wonderbolt's command staff after her world record breaking eight gold medals at this year's Equestrian Games, though it is unknown at this time if her promotion and medals will be repealed due to these recent events. Decisions for both cases are usually made by one of the four Princesses of Equestria, though no comment has been made by any of them yet.

Thunderlane sighed as he folded his newspaper and set it aside. The topic that was plastered on every single newspaper in all of Equestria had confirmed the rumors he had heard upon his return to the hotel after he had spent a few hours at one of the nearby strip clubs; Scootaloo had taken her own life.

Thunderlane chuckled as he recalled his initial reaction to seeing the paper that was left outside his hotel room door that morning; he was absolutely positive that he would be headed to Tartarus once his connection to her was found out. However, the fear in his face evaporated and turned to a wicked grin once he saw that the young mare's death was being completely overshadowed by Rainbow Dash allegedly striking Twilight for some reason. He turned on the television in his room and saw that, like the paper, the media seemed more focused on Twilight being punched than the death of just another pony.

His confidence restored, Thunderlane walked over to his room safe and opened it up, taking out one of the full needles he had stashed away inside. Looking at the golden liquid inside, he grinned broadly as he recalled how much fun he had been able to have with the desperate pegasus and how quickly she had succumbed to his wishes. "Stupid foal." he muttered as he replaced the needle in the safe before strolling back to his bed.

A quick chirp from his phone caught Thunderlane's attention. He glanced at his screen and confirmed what he already knew; with Rainbow Dash's new attention, all Wonderbolts in Manehattan were to do carry out the media policy their elite team had in place; stay in and shut up until the investigation was over. Something of this magnitude was not going to just blow over overnight, and Thunderlane correctly guessed that they'd all be stuck inside the hotel for about a week. Still, with the Wonderbolt's covering all of his expenses, there were plenty of worse places to be stranded.

With a soft 'oomf', Thunderlane fell backwards onto his bed and held his phone over his head, opening up the photo gallery and scrolling through the hundreds of photos he had of a certain deceased mare. "Well, it wasn't a complete waste." he muttered to himself. "Should provide some good entertainment for me this week, at least."

Scrolling all the way up, Thunderlane stopped on a photo of Scootaloo taking off her shirt despite having a look of rage on her face. 'That was a fun first day.' he thought to himself...
