He wasn't able to go all out, since this was a noble's celebration, but that didn't make the festivities any less enjoyable. "Thank you for everything, Cheese Sandwich. You've certainly made this anniversary something worth remembering." Jet Set politely complimented. "Just doing what I always do." Cheese tipped his hat. "Now, if you'll excuse us. We've got to mosey on over to our hotel room. Gotta hit the road bright and early tomorrow. Come on, Boneless 2." Cheese arrived at his hotel room. Being one of the most famous party planners in Equestria had its upsides. Cheese settled down in his room, flopping down on the bed. "Not a bad day, eh Boneless 2? Not as much fun as the norm, but I wouldn't call it boring. Wonder where my Cheesie Sense will take us next?" There was a knock on the door. Cheese got up from the bed and walked towards the door. "Yeeees? A mailpony was standing on the other side, "Letter for Mr. Cheese Sandwich." "That would be me." Cheese snatched the letter from the mailpony with his mane. "Thank ya kindly, sir." Cheese shut the door, leaving the letter carrier somewhat confused. Cheese trotted back over to the bed, "I've got mail, Boneless 2. Let's see." He ripped the letter open and began reading it. "Blah, blah, blah, Crystal Empire, blah, blah, blah, 100 years, blah, blah, blah, like you to plan the party. Yadda, yadda, yadda, looking forward to it." Cheese rolled the letter up. "Well, Boneless 2, I guess our next stop will be in...pause for dramatic effect...The Crystal Empire! First Canterlot, now the Crystal Empire. In the up and up these days. Better get some shut-eye. I've got a party to plan in the morning. Nighty night." Cheese turned off the lamp and drifted to sleep. It was a quiet day in Ponyville. No major catastrophes were milling about. No pony needed a friendship mended. Everything was fine. Especially for Ponyville's premiere party pony, Pinkie Pie. She was watching over Sugarcube Corner for the day while the Cakes were in Hoovertown for a Baker's Conference. Pinkie enjoyed watching over the sweet shoppe. For one, she could help herself to any of the delicious confections that Sugarcube Corner was famous for. But, more importantly, she was happy that the Cakes could trust her. They found Pinkie responsible enough to watch over their prize, and she took joy in that. The door opened, causing the bell to ring. "Welcome to Sugarcube Corner! Where everything is yummy and sweet! How can I help--Oh, hi, Twilight." Pinkie looked over at door, watching her purple friend trot over to her. "Good morning, Pinkie. Those cupcakes sure smell good today," Twilight licked her lips at the tantalizing treats. "I know, right? The Cakes shared their recipe with me, and I'm quite pleased with the result," Pinkie gave a proud smile. "They look great. Mind if I buy a few? I'm sure Spike and Discord will want some," Twilight levitated some bits to the counter. "Not at all, Twi. I should give you everything knowing Discord's appetite." Pinkie grabbed a box of cupcakes from underneath the counter. "Here you go. A whole dozen. Make sure Spike and Discord don't eat them all." Pinkie winked. Twilight giggled, "I will. Thanks, Pinkie. Now, onto the reason I actually came here," she levitated a letter from her saddlebags and gave it to Pinkie. "Ooooo! A letter! Who's it from?" "Cadence. Go ahead and read it." Twilight nudged with her hoof. Pinkie looked down at the letter and began to read. Dear Twilight, How are you doing? I hope you're doing well. I've written to you to inform you that the Crystal Empire is turning one hundred years old. So, I have decided to throw a celebration, honoring this auspicious occasion. But, I am in no way capable of doing it myself. If it would be okay, I would like to have your friend Pinkie Pie headline this party. She planned the reception at the wedding, so I have no doubt she'll be able to pull this off. I've also hired another party planner, who is said to be one of the best in all of Equestria. Between the two of them, I'm sure this party will be one worth remembering. I look forward to seeing you and your friends. In love, Cadence. Pinkie's mouth dropped. "So, will you do it?" Twilight asked expectantly. "Do you even have to ask?! Of course, I'll do it. Like I'd say no! This is going to be one of the biggest parties I've ever thrown! But, I'm up to the challenge. I wonder who the other party planner is." She gasped loudly. "Do you think it's--? Twilight shrugged, "Could be. We'll have to wait and see. In any case, I'd better get going. We'll probably be heading to the Empire day after tomorrow. I'm sure the others will want to come, too. I'll go ahead and let them know. See you later, Pinkie!" With that, the purple alicorn trotted out the door. Pinkie trotted upstairs to her room. "Oh, Gummy, this is great! I get to help plan one of the biggest parties in the Crystal Empire. Aside from the Crystal Faire, I wonder how many parties the Crystal Ponies have." She put a hoof to her chin. "It doesn't matter. This is going to be so much fun. I hope the other party pony is who I think it is. With the two of us working together, this will be the greatest party ever!" She picked up Gummy and spun him around in a circle. She put him back down and giggled. "Do you want to come, Gummy? It'll be all kinds of fun that I know you'll enjoy. What do you say?" Pinkie grinned at her toothless alligator. She was met with the same blank response that he was quite known for. "You don't know? Well, when you do, let me know. For now, I've got to restock on party supplies. Take care of things while I'm gone, okay buddy? Love ya!" She gave her pet a nuzzle before heading out the door.
