Day two

Previous Chapter

05/30/2015

I survived the night well enough. I had a most unusual breakfast this morning: salad. When I was human, I was mostly carnivorous, but since ponies can't eat meat... yea. Anyway, it did manage to surprise me just how good a bunch of various green things could taste. I took a good bit of time after breakfast this morning to look for anything to help me carry supplies. My first thought drifted to saddlebags, but then I remembered that I'm not in Equestria, so I wasn't going to find any. The next best thing was a backpack, and it works... kind of. It likes to slide around a LOT, but it's the best I've got for now.

After loading up everything I could fit into my new backpack, I left the Walmart to find a better place to stay. Did I mention how not fun it is to carry a knife in your mouth non-stop? Well, I couldn't find a sheath for my kukri, so that's the only way I could carry it. At least I wouldn't have to deal with unsheathing it if I ever got into trouble. Oh, and no zombie contact today... somehow. If you were expecting that, then too bad because I am not going to look for them just to tell you about fighting them.

I did manage to find a safe enough home not long after leaving Walmart. It's an old colonial style home with plenty of easily defensible positions should somebody, somepony (for all I know, I'm not the only one who turned into a pony), or some zombie comes in uninvited. If I ever figure out a good way to use a rifle, the upstairs has plenty of really good sniper spots. In addition, the people who lived here were gardeners. I may not have a green thumb hoof, but I can probably find plenty of books on the subject to help me learn.

It would seem as though the previous residents were true candle lovers. I have yet to find a room without at least five candles of various shapes and sizes. At the very least, I'll have plenty of light for days. Also, in order to light up the house safely, I covered ALL the windows with thick sheets, comforters I think they're called. To do that, however, I had to learn how to fly. It wasn't as hard as I made it out to be yesterday. I just simply had to leap and flap my wings to actually produce lift.

I created Amethyst Skies for another story I was going to write before all this. I had decided to give her a disability that made it impossible for her to hover. As such, she was also unable to take off while standing still. I don't exactly remember why I made her that way, but I do kind of regret it.

Anyway, not much of an entry today, but nothing particularly exciting happened today. Hopefully tomorrow will be different.
