War… war never changes. In the great magical land of Equestria; peace was very much present, but peace would not last forever. War broke out between lands, and lands took up arms to one another for resources: both the Zebra Nation and Equestria suffered heavily. Lives were lost, trust were tested, ponies and zebra who were friends turned on one another.
During the war: in the city of Baltimare, was the center for medical research funded for research by the ministries into healing spells and potions and other advance healing material. They all funded this in hopes it could help for the war effort, there was a solution made by Lunar Bolt and he was close to putting his plan to action; he was close to action for his plan but… whatever it was got destroyed by balefire bombs. But when the bombs fell it wasn't as some predicted the end of the world.
There were those lucky to be safe in large underground shelters known as Stables. For on the day the bombs fell and balefire rain from the sky, the large doors of Stable 75 closed shut and never to reopened till the day of Medical Lunar made the choice to leave his Stable, for in hopes finding his cousin but what he finds once out is not what he expected. Medical is forced to chose either his oath or his life. In him he holds something that could change the wastelands for the better or worse.
We begin our Story inside Stable 75 where Medical Lunar is unaware of the events that are about to unfold for him and the wastelands…

Present
So. You want to hear how a doctor went from a stable doctor to a hero of the wasteland? Well too bad, I am telling you the story anyway! Tell you the truth, the only reason I accepted this was because I was promised rum and also, I want future ponies to know what happened with what was about to happen. So I guess, I can begin by telling you how all of this began……..I still want my rum by the end of this I mean it!! I know right where to start.

I can guess when my life went to hell, but I am sure that isn’t why I am writing this. Maybe a reminder that I am a pony still and not a monster as I have become in this story of mine; this is a story of a colt who was bored of his life and wanted something new, an adventure of some sort but was forced to believe he will live his whole life in a stable cause when you are born in a stable you die in a stable. Maybe this was my sin for thinking I can go on and keep moving along without being defeated.
But now as I lay on the cold floor; seeing death walking towards me, I feel like I deserved this for what I've done, this is the perfect punishment.
My friends are missing, I lost my Pip-buck, I am all out of ammo though that does not matter since my weapons are gone too. Only thing I have is my hooves, there was black mass in front of me and it was in the shape of a pony slowly walked towards me. I got up trying to escape the black mass, but my hooves are not listening for these were not my hooves or the ones I am familiar with. So now, I don’t even have those.
But I can’t give up, I got to get up and keep going till the end, I must end him. I got to stop him before he used document 'Project Hell Frozen Rain'; the document that my great-great-great -great-great (I can’t count how many) great-grandfather Lunar Bolt, the fucker who made this program, the reason why my body is alien to me right now.
Back to reality, there was a black mass trying to kill me. Well I can’t run, so I might as well stare death down the barrel. I turned to look at the black mass but instead… I saw a barrel. Sucks to be right on the money, “well do it, end me kill me!!” The next thing I saw was a light then nothing… I am Medical Lunar and this, is the story of how my life came to an end.

The Beginning
A light, that was the first thing I saw, moments later there was a black, unicorn stallion with red mane and gold eyes staring at me with a joyful smile.
"Health, it's a colt! We have a son. Hey little guy, I am your daddy!" Dad said as he looked behind me then to me.
I turned my head to a red, unicorn mare with a black mane and red eyes lying on the bed panting hard, looking at me with a please look. "That's so wonderful Arcane! Can I see him?" After she asked that, I was in her hooves. I felt warm and safe, I closed my eyes as I stayed in the mare's hooves.
"What should we name him?" Health asked puzzled by the thought.
"How about Health?" Arcane suggested and Health only rolled her eyes at the playfull suggestion, suddenly an name popped on her mind .
"How about Medical.....Medical Lunar? Lunar after my great-great-great something grandfather and since he is the first buck from his bloodline!" she suggested.
Moments later, another mare walks into the room we were in. She was a green, earth pony with a black and gold mane and brown eyes. "Hello Health and Arcane, congrats on your newborn foal! Hey there fella, I am the Overmare... He is as cute as Staff!" She said as I watch them talk to one another. She seems a bit annoyed by my father for some reason, the mare left later on giving me a kiss on the horn as she left.
There was some machine with a mirror, "let's see what you will look like when you’re all grown up." Arcane said; I was a maroon, stallion with red eyes, black and red mane, my mane is place up in a ponytail and a square shaped muzzle.
All of a sudden, my father was coughing hard. "A-Arcane you okay?" my mother asked with a worried expression, "is it the illness?" Arcane nodded in response, he kept coughing to where their was a red liquid coming out of his mouth, he looks down.
"I am sorry love, but I am feeling weaker and weaker every day! It's been getting worse, could be my last day… any day now!" He said as he looked at me, "at least I got to be here for you my son, I hope you make me proud." The last thing I heard from him as I fell to sleep.

10 years later.
It was my cute-ceañera, I got a golden caduceus for a cutie mark. My mother fell down and broke her left hind leg, I managed to get back into the right place and heal it. She is forced to wear a medical brace until it heals completely after that, the golden caduceus appeared on my flank.
Kinda thought this would be my cutie mark or something of it, since I love healing others and helping others. I help around the Stable by healing it, keeping it healthy like it was my foal.
I was minding my own business when the Overmare gave me her slice of cake. She is so nice to me all the time, I guess since I am going to take my mom's place as head of medical. There were 10 in medical and my mom was in charge; she teaches the newcomers how everything works, the Overmare is very kind but don't let her fool you, she will turn to the Overmare when it's needed and I've seen that from her... It was not a pretty sight.
The party was great till I ran into him… "Hello Med-X!" a brown, unicorn said face to me "ya know, I did see the Overmare give you her slice of cake and I am hungry. Now, all you're going to do is stand there and give me the cake!" His name was Buck Prank and he was a pain in my flank; always picking on me. I really-really hated him but thanks for me for being so nice.
"Okay Buck, here you go!" I give him the slice of cake acting happy like normal, I try my best to be nice to all the colts and fillies in the Stable. After giving him the cake, he ran off chuckling.
A filly a bit older looks at me with sad eyes, "why did you let him do that to you? On your cute-ceañera none the less!"
I replied "don't need more jerks like him in the Stable! Plus, mom would be pissed if she saw me go down to his level."
The filly's name was Morning Staff, the daughter of the Overmare "true, thanks for thinking for the Stable! This place could use more Medical Lunars keeping everything nice and friendly." Morning said putting on a smile. She really liked me a lot every chance she had she would come see me, she must have a crush on me, great some mare loves me.
"Or could make it worse, let's not find out…" I said as I open my presents.
The thing was, I didn't care what others thought for my acts as long as I can avoid fighting, I hate fighting; Morning likes that about me. I sometimes hang out in the security room and help out when I can, they thought on how to protect myself just in case Buck tries to throw a few hooves at me.
Morning got me a pre-war hat, a good one too. I read somewhere about these, my mom got me a black lab coat. "If you’re going to be in medical, you should look the part and also in style!" Mom said as she watches me put on the coat and hat.
The Overmare walked up to me and gives me a Pip-Buck; a machine that can do all sorts of things like organize my things, checks conditions of my body, has a radio and a lot more that I don't know about. "Both your cutie mark and pip-buck means you’re old enough to do work in the Stable! Since your cutie mark is that of medical area you will be in medical. Good luck to you!" She showed me the basic mechanics of the Pip-Buck.
After that, another mare walked up to me; it was my cousin Sunset Sweet, a light blue, earth pony, 3 years older than me. She helps with making food for the Stable and is always quiet when we talk. She got me a... orb? Why did she give me a orb, also why was it glowing? "It's a memory orb, let's you look into the past of the pony it was taken from; I was told this one belongs to Lunar Night Eclipse: he was a researcher for the war, the orb just shows him with his wife on a hill looking at a town. It's just to show you what life was like before the war!" Sunset told and explained the orb to me.
"Wow, thanks um… I will take care of it!" I said as I place it in my pile of my gifts.
A chance to look into the life of another pony who is dead sounds boring really boring like put me to sleep boring. I would kiss Buck before looking into a memory orb, my mom told me I should not joke about kissing colts since I was a colt. You see: in Stable 75 you are forced to be straight, if you say you love the same sex you will be put in a security holding cell and giving a shot to make you straight and if that doesn't work, then you were killed. Yeah, life sucks in the Stable but I deal with it! Plus I'm sure I like mares… yeah, I like mares.
"Okay, 10 more minutes then I want this place cleaned up by the day's end!" the Overmare said she then walked to my mother, "we need to talk in my office about something!" my mother nods and they both walk out of the room.
I spent the rest of the day enjoying my new stuff trying on the coat; it's a bit too big for me and the hat is too just my luck. Nopony knew my size, oh well… when I am older I will be able to wear these.

6 years later.
I am 16 now, I can now do real work; this past six years, I’ve been practicing and recording my studies on my Pip-Buck and turns out I got to be the Overmare's personal doctor. I know everything about her health, she is in good one by the way
I was sitting next to her facing her, she told me we needed to talk about something, a Morning something.
"I have arranged a marriage!" She told me as I check her body for anything that needed my tending to. "I've decided it should be you who marries her."
I fell to the ground and landed on my face. "Y-YOU WHAT?!?" I was in shock, the daughter of the Overmare is going to be my wife and I couldn't say no. "B-B-But me and Morning are friends, good friends!" I said trying to reason with her.
"You really haven't been noticing her being more close to you showing more affection for you!?" She seem to be enjoying me being in shock because she has a big grin on her face.
Was I that blind? I knew she had a crush on me but now she is wanting this, she must of asked her mother to do this; this has been done many times before, the Overmare could arranged a marriage if she wishes. I heard about it in history books of Stable 75, I should've seen this, I was close friends with Morning so why am I sadden by the thought of marrying her? Maybe because I wanted to find love on my own. Looks like that won't happen.
After that I finish up with work and was trying to clean up/pack as fast I can and started to walk to my room in the livings quarter.
"Hey Med, you okay?" Sunset asked with a frown.
"H-Huh? Oh hey Sunset it's nothing, just was given big news of my future in this place!" I said as calm as my emotion will let me. Right now I was sad, but I didn't need to bother her with that.
"I hate seeing you down. You're always trying to keep others happy, can I please help you cheer up?! So please just tell me and I will help!" She said with comfort in her words.
"It's nothing, It's nothing honest!!" I said trying to reassure her.
"Medical Lunar, do you like it down here?" she asked is a very serious voice.
"O-O-Of course I do! W-what kind of q-question is that?" I lied, I liked it here; I had friends and family but… It is pretty boring down here. I will admit not much to see, only way out for a short amount of time is the memory orb, but I have yet to take a look into the thing. I knew it would make me depressed, I know there was once a place called outside; where I guess the ceiling was more higher, a lot more light and lot more space. That is what I can guess from books then again, could be something else, I will never know, I will grew old down here and die from old age. I hated that thought: just living like this till I die.
"I know when your lie, but let me know!" She then walked away towards her job, which she worked in food section doing what-I-don't-care.
I keep on walking till I made to the door to my room, just press the button and then it will all be over, the day will be done. Then my face was met with the face of Morning just inches close to my face. I jumped back in surprise.
"Hello Med!" she said with her face very-very close to mine, Celestria I can feel her breath and smell it... like mint, my favorite flavor. "Did my mother talk to you about our future?" she asked with a spark in her eyes.
"Yes, she did and I don't know what to say honesty!" I said trying to sound happy but my soul wasn't into it.
"I know, and only one way to express my feelings for it," she leans in and kiss me; her warm lips press against mines, it felt good, tasted good, Luna please don't let this be a dream! But it was her nice and warm lips pressed against mine, I didn’t want this. Not with her though, with some other mare that I loved with my heart.
The kiss lasted for a good minute till I pulled away, ".....w-wow...." I said in pants, it was breathtaking, I loved it, Celestia I loved it! But it was her who did it, not somepony I truly loved.
She walked away after some talk then finally my room, just let me have thi- "Lunar it's past curfew!!!" A very angered very mad mare said and who other then my mother to be one upset at me for being up so late. "You have to be in bed by this time, the only ponies allowed outside their rooms are night ponies like your cousin Sunset, not ponies like you!!" She was mad but it was normal.
In the Stable there are two type of ponies: one assign to daytime shift they get 6 am and 9 pm, while the night time ponies get 9 pm to 6 am. You can tell it was night by the lighting in the Stable; day time it was bright almost like the sun, night it was a bit more darker. If you were caught past curfew you were put in Security jail cell for a day.
After an hour of telling me every rule of the Stable... "Now go to bed!" She said to me, after that she went to her room.
Finally my room: the only place I want to be. Not work, not with Morning, not outside of the room, no nothing but here. My bedroom, the one place I can rest. I walked into my room; in my room there was a bed, a dresser, a bookshelf and a wardrobe. In the wardrobe was my lab coat and my pre-war hat.
I lay down in my bed, tired, exhausted from work, and falling asleep.
As I fell to sleep, I thought about the surface; for some reason was the only thing I wanted to think of, I remember reading something about some war, but don't really care about that. But I do care to see the outside one day. The one only place I would want to be at besides my room is the outside.

3 years later.
Well here I am, 18 and married to Morning and she is pregnant with my foal. Mother said it's going to be a filly. A daughter, my own daughter, I never thought of being a parent don't know if I am ready or if I want to have one with her.
The wedding was 3 months ago, her pregnancy is 6 months down the road, and I am doomed to this fate without choice, I wanted to be free of this, but there was nowhere out. How much longer do I have to wait for the chance to be free if there is any at all. I did some reading and we been down here for 200 years, and we are still in this hole. I need to get out, I need to be free, to choose my own fate.
My mom walked into mine and Morning's room "Son, I need to give you something." She told me.
I looked up at her "What is it?" I asked.
"It's a document that was pass down through our from the war. It belongs to Lunar Eclipse, your ancestor, He made this document for his research but the only way to open it is to find the terminal where the document was made or you find a way to hack into it and open it up." She stopped to caught her breath "The file's name is Code Red or you can call it project Code Red as he called it."
I didn't care for history, but for once, this spark my interest. "A document that was made to do something? But it might have been made for war, could be meant to hurt others." I pointed out.
"No it's not, Lunar Bolt was a medical doctor, he even pointed out his research is meant to heal somepony not damn somepony, he wrote it in his journal." She told me; "there's even a picture of him!" Shows me a picture of.......the fuck, that was me or he looked a lot like me, like we could be twins besides our hairstyles and cutie mark. "you should be proud to have his looks."
She then downloaded Code Red into my p"Pip-Buck, like that it was in my Pip-Buck "I pray if you do unlock it, you put it good used. Then again for 200 years none of us have yet to do that." She said sadden by this, she then walked out.
I looked into the file but would not let me open it up nor would it let me try to do anything with it. Pip-Bucks have tons of memory and this document was using half… oh well, hardly use this thing, just to keep track of my stuff and my plans. At times I would try out some of the features when I was bored. Not much to do with them; only map, organize, audio files and a few other things but these things were very tough I will give them that.
I walked out and went to get me something to eat, some lunch. I had oatmeal cherry, was my favorite food to have since it was the only thing good. I talked to the other cooks about Sunset, they told me she was started to be silent and asking some of them to take over while she takes care of something. I asked what it was but they told me the same "Didn't say, just that it was important to her, maybe a stallion won her!?" Sunset in love? I know that can't be right, Sunset is not the type of mare to love somepony; like me in that way, was she? How much did I know about my cousin/friend, to be honest not much.
I didn't make much friends in the Stable only two, well Buck Prank is somewhat my friend now. We talk more and we hang out during free time but he would try to pull a prank once in a bit, I think he just enjoys pulling pranks on others to stop, maybe that's why his cutie mark is a joker card. He might have been a jerk, but he didn't know that it was harming me so after a bit, he told me he was sorry and said he didn't mean any of it, me being so nice I accepted it, he still calls me Med-X but got used to it.
I went back to work after my meal and sat at my chair and looked at my mirror "Hello Medical Lunar, this is you telling you! That you have work today. Also a boring future ahead of you, thought you might want to know that." I would talk to myself normally to help get through this nightmare that will never ever.

Later that day.
I did a lot of work for today: I saved a pony from bleeding out, rare thing to happen, had to get old Cleaner mare to take her meds. Had to tell a filly her mom was going to die, and last but least take care of the Overmare. My whole life or just the few things I have to do in the Stable.
A mare went into labor, helped deliver her foal; it was a filly unicorn, she was cute:black brown mane, yellow gold coat, eyes are blue, and her name is Water Drop. Could be for the fact her mother keeps the pipe for the water talisman going. I would soon be a father to a filly. After that, I went to my room tired and wanting my bed again.
I hate it here, but this will be my life now and forever! I will never escape, this is my life. Maybe it's for the best maybe not, I will never know. This is my home now and nopony can save me from it......though that is what I thought till that day it happened.

Thank you ladies and gentleman for reading I am a fresh new writer starting with a story about ponies killing ponies over food and guns isn’t it wonderful? I mean if you really think about it this would be a perfect place to get shot up in because you would get a long lasting painful death if you were to be killed, then again that sounds like it would suck I don’t know why I added this bit in.
