Chap. 1 timberstein
1942, starlight glimmer and her 5th reich have taken most of the crystal empire over and are advancing quickly across Zebra territory. My friend and I drafted into this war by choice. We live so we can fight back thier laws of...equality...its horrifying honestly. Ive seen a fellow comrade, bleeding and half dead due to a mine blowing off his back leg, get taken by the "Changer."a robotic beast capable of ripping the cutie mark right off your flank and leaving you with nothing. After they change you the nazis come pick you up and you become one of 'them'.i had galloped as fast as i could, but i wasnt fast enough. i saw him get sucked into the machine and with a final scream the door robotic jaw clamped shut.
Its april 3 and my ally, shadow we liked to call him, sits next to me on the boat we had commandeered. Around us bullets sprayed but none were aimed at us. We were ghosts in the water due to an enemy invisibility device i had repaired. Our mission was to kill a general, an alicorn by the name of twilight, and return when the objective was complete. But im not sure if were gonna live long enough to tell the tale. Signing out, pixel.
I closed my journal and look around. Buzzing followed by the occasional rat-at-ata was all we heard as we headed down the canal. On our right a gunfight had broken out between a changeling and a mare. I looked long enough to see who won, something like watching an old gladiator battle. The changeling's head exploded and his body ragdolled into the canal. One more body, another 6 pints of blood, all for "equality." I grimaced and turned toward my friend who seemed to be focusing ahead. Soon our objective loomed over us and shadow slowed the boat to a drift. From here on out it was on hoof. As we pulled ourselves into the water i made ready the explosives i had stock piled on the boat. We neared the shore and I nodded toward shadow. With a nod back I pulled the trigger. A massive shockwave hit us both in the chest as a plume of fire sprung from where the boat was. Alarms started going off and guards were rushing to investigate what was happening. There in the window, twilight stared at it as if contemplating whether to bother with it or not. Then with a shrug she turned away and disapeared into the room.
We silently nod toward each other and turn our seperate ways. I searched in my backpack and rummaged through the random medical equipment i had. There it was, my trusty welder. As I pulled it out i quickly looked around to make sure no one saw me. When i was sure I was safe I turned it on and started melting away the wall. 5-4-3-2-1-0! I was through and not a moment too soon since soldiers had started walking back from the explosion.
Suddenly i watched with horror as a circle of light swung close to me. 3 feet away. Now it was almost 2! As it neared my hoofs i pressed against the wall in a desperate attempt to get away from it. Then, as suddenly as it was nearing me it swung away in a jerking motion. Confused i looked toward the tower and saw a body hung over the wall before it disappeared onto the floor. In the distance shadow layed in cover guarding me like a angel of death.
As i snuck around the corner i found a basement hatch and broke the lock with my assault rifle. I went inside quietly. I neared the bottom of the steps and noticed two ponies playing cards. BLAM! BLAM! Thier heads became paste on the wall as thier bodies slid out of thier seats and onto the floor with a soft thump. I stopped to investigate to see who they were. One appeared to be a younger colt who brandished a seargent's status, while the other seemed to be a general. Interesting, I thought and quickly grabbed the older of the twos clothes and put it on. To finish it off i picked up a spare cap that had just a speck of blood on it and threw it on my head. As i trotted up the stairs two soldiers rushed by me but immedietly halted. HEIL GLIMMER! They practically screamed in my ears. I shewed them off with a face of disgust and they ran off down the corridor. I trotted to the nearby stair access and turned on my mic that was on the side of my head. I walked hoof by hoof until I finally reached the floor."Shadow im nearing floor 4 are you in position of the target over?" A garbled "yes" screeched across the earpiece. i smashed the power switch off to kill the sound and left myself in silence. with a sigh i continued climbing the stairs to my objective.
The "free" were terrible people but they did have a excellent taste in fashion i thought as i walked down the corridor. As i neared the door two guards spoke something in german to me. Something about no tresspassing, oh if only they knew me. As quick as lightning my horn flashed into action and brought out my colt. In shock they struggled to get thier weapons. Too late. Two shots fired from the muzzle of my gun and the ponies slumped against the wall on thier way down. Opening the door twilight looked up from her papers that were strewn across her desk. With an almost pleased face she motioned toward a seat."Please have a seat, Dear?"
"The names pixel scum" i said through gritted teeth.
"Aw yes! Pixel. such a fine name. Please allow me to express my deepest apologies for the mess i made you go to get to me. I hope my guards werent too much trouble." Twilight said as she set her hoof back onto her desk.
"What are you talking about? I thought you would be terrified that im gonna shove this gun down your celestia forsaken throat. And you have the nerve to invite me to tea? Whats your game twilight."
"Why nothing! I just find it silly you think your leaving here alive! Tis all. Also about that whole business of killing me? " She said motioning to my weapon "Your silly bullets wont dent my magic. In fact lets dispose of those silly weapons of yours." Her horn glowed and my weapons and my knapsack flew to her and as she mockingly tisked me like im a disobedient puppy.
"Fine if i dont have weapons ill take you myself!" I threw myself into the air in a old karate move technique developed by a pony called applebloom. However i found myself frozen in dismay.
"You are such a silly filly arent you? This just wont do! Why i think my machines needs to teach you some lessons. Here comes one now! "
with a hisss and a clank a smaller changer stomped into the room and stopped in front of the door way with its maw wide open.
"you have made a valiant effort my dear pixel. But im afraid this conversation is com-"
Blood spurted from the side of her head as a bullet whisked through the window and embedded itself in a wall. "I dont understaaa..." she said as her head hit the desk with a thunk.
Free of the spell, i quickly galloped and latched myself on the changers back. A sharp tug later and i pulled the panel off of its wire compartment, as it thrashed desperately to get me off. With a few snips here and there I programmed it to go bezerk on the lower levels. With that being set i grabbed the book of arcane magic and blueprints the nazis were developing. With that in my possesion, I galloped with all my might out of the building. Shots were being fired from every direction as all of discord broke loose. I ducked underneath the hole i made in the fence and galloped to our meeting location.
Our mission was a success, twilight sparkle was dead.
