Pinkie Has Coping Issues
Chapter 8
Previous ChapterHours later the other mares began to stir. Twilight was the first to begin to wake up, “Oh, what happened? I think I was drugged, by head it killing me,” she reached to her head as Applejack shouted.
“Twi, don’t touch your head, darlin’, you’re hurt bad. All of you are. Just stay calm, okay hun?”
Reaching to touch her head she felt a wad of cloth that pressed into her head too deeply to be safe. Twilight began to panic, “Where? Where? My horn? Where?” She jumped up and her wings unfurled, sending pain across her back causing her to scream in pain. Looking down trying to shut out the pain she saw her wings lying to her sides and panicked heavily.
Vomiting at her feet twilight lost consciousness before she could speak. ‘Well, at least she don’t gotta worry about seeing the others just yet,’ thought applejack.
As dash woke up next she trembled as she saw rarity. The beautiful mare upside down, blood across her body and legs missing. Dash felt true terror and screamed more than she ever had, losing her breath and screaming again and again, unable to break her gaze.
Rarity began to awaken to dashes screams and felt light headed, she couldn’t feel any pain in her legs and smiled lightly wondering how great it felt, except for the screaming. Her eyes focusing she saw an upside down rainbow dash thrashing and screaming at her.
Groaning rarity tried to speak but there was something in her mouth, she swallowed and coughed from the bitter sour flavor. Then she felt alert as if she woke up in bed, and looked at her friend and gasped, shouting in fear at the sight of dash without wings or hooves.
Gasping she felt her legs burning and looked up to where her legs were, the bleeding had stopped and the potion had sealed her wounds, preventing her from bleeding out too fast. Looking at her poorly amputated legs she took note of the blood streaking her body and froze. Dash began to get hoarse and began coughing, noticing her back pains, she tried to flutter her wings and felt more pain in her back.
Looking to her sides she began screaming again as she looked at her wingless back, she began to hyperventilate and became drowsy until she could barely move.
After some time twilight began to awaken again, this time she understood their peril and what had happened to her. Shaking some vomit from her chest she looked at her screaming friends and saw the horror that was left of them.
Twilights head and back throbbed worse than the worst migraine, causing her to fall to her side.
“Sugar cube, twilight, pinkie said she was gonna be gone for a while this time. Maybe days. We gotta get out or we aren’t gonna live til she comes back. You gotta think of somethin’,” applejack said, her voice shaking.
Picking up the claw hammer twilight swung with all her might and began chopping her hooves. The pain was so great she could only swing a couple times before needing to take a break, her body in so much pain she lost consciousness several times before breaking her first ankle. The rest of the day was spent with twilight hitting her ankles.
“I’ve gotta do this, for my friends, we can’t die here. We can’t die like this. We have to live,” Twilight said as she broke her second ankle.
After her second ankle was broken she turned the hammer to her last leg and swung for all she had, cracking the bone in one swing. Twisting the hammer she popped her hooves off one by one, the adrenaline rushing through her system she wrestled out of the shackles and dragged herself to the table.
Grabbing the key she went to the cell and unlocked it, pulling it open with help from applejack. Looking at each other with relief they began to crawl for the stairs. Rarity was still in shock after all this time, her back muscles having cramped so much she was stuck looking at her missing legs. Dash was dehydrated from crying and screaming.
“We’ll be back, girls, we’re getting out of here to get some help,” twilight said as she dragged herself behind the racing applejack.
Getting to the top of the stairs there was a door with a simple knob. Both mares looked at eachother and chuckled. Neither of them wanted to have to stand up in their shape, but twilight took the initiative and opened the door with her mouth, turning the handle carefully so she didn’t slip.
There was nothing but darkness in the room, as the duo crawled into the pitch black they felt something slimy across their bellies and wondered what they were in now. They listened for any noise but there was silence still, “Ugh, why does it have to be like this. I’m going back to get that light spell and we can see what’s here,” twilight moaned.
Returning to the dungeon twilight hobbled to the center of the room, balanced on her back legs through the pain and grabbed the gem casting light with her mouth, then fell over in excruciating pain.
Crying she returned up the stairs, light in hand, leaving a dim lantern for her tied friends.
The room came into view as a cellar of some sort, there was a door in the ceiling at the far end of the empty room with a rope attached, much like an attic door. Crawling to the door applejack pulled the rope, and the sun shone through, blinding the mares in it’s warm light.
“Freedom, at last.”
