Pinkie Pie drinks coffee
Coffee
Load Full StoryThe light emanating from the candle gave sufficient light for one to look around the library; books were strewn everywhere, books covered in a sparkling glow flew out of the shelves, the mahogany floor was covered with so many books that all that could be seen were the covers of the paperbacks, the brown flooring peeped out in occasional spaces.
Light snoring was heard from the upper side of the library, which was coming from Spike, whose stomach was moving up and down slowly, almost in sync with the flickering of the candle.
The purple mare, magic holding quill, was repeating friendship problems to herself, solving them, and writing them down. Occasionally, she would stop and look at the clock for the time. Her only accompaniment, was the moon hung in the night sky. She doubted that anypony would be up at this hour as she looked out the window, houses having no movement or light visible.
Twilight's eyelids closed and opened repeatedly, a sign that she was getting sleepy, her head began to nod repeatedly as she tried to stay awake, but it was a futile attempt.
Looking back at the scroll she was writing on, it had already crawled to the other side of the room, like most of her scrolls usually do; she let a long sigh before returning to where she stopped writing. And to think, she was only halfway done. Tomorrow was the exam on friendship that Princess Celestia had planned for a long time and the purple mare had already set her sights on topping it.
All she needed now was her cup of coffee to energize her for the rest of the night.
She lugged her tired body to the coffee machine, summoning the last of her magic to power it; a blanket of magic covered the coffee maker as it started to do its job. Twilight rested her head on the table as the coffee started to pour into her conveniently placed white cup which had the words, 'Friendship Is Magic' on them in big red letters.
Her eyes closed as she started to dream.

"Spike! This is a big deal!" I say to him, my hooves making large worried thumps on the wood floorboards. "I didn't wake you up when you fell asleep, big deal." He says sarcastically, not seeing the problem. I turn to him and lift him up using my magic,"Big deal? BIG DEAL?!"
I shake him with my levitation spell, emphasizing my fears. Releasing him, I trot over to the window, which has the full view of Canterlot and say, "The Princess has been waiting for me to take this test and you ruined it! RUINEEED IT!" I mentally break down and start whining.
Holding a claw to his spinning head, Spike laments, "Not this again..., one, two, thre-"
"I'll be sent to magic kindergarten!" I say, oblivious to Spike's guessing.
Spike rolls his eyes, before joking, "it's not like Princess Celestia would suddenly come here and give you the set, right? The test is at 6 in the afternoon and it is only 8 in the morning now. Nothing to worry about." Spike finishes, crossing his arms, proud that he has proved me wrong.
I giggle nervously as I assure myself and I answer him, "You're right, Spike. I've got time," I trot to my study desk and crack open some books on friendship.
But my fears were realized when Celestia suddenly teleports into the library, her spread-out wings causing some books to fall out of the shelves.
"Twilight Sparkle, my most faithful student, I am here to give you a party!" Her head suddenly transforms into that of Pinkie Pie she says,

"Hey Twilight!" The purple mare jolts awake from her sleep, eye bags visible as she turned to the source of the noise, "Pinkie Pie? What are you doing here at," Twilight squints at the clock,"3a.m. in the morning?" Her voice raspy, too tired to even yell at the pink mare for waking her up.
"Well duh," Pinkie started, sounding like she was stating the obvious, “I’m here to say hi! Who needs to care about time when saying hi to their friends?"
Twilight raised a hoof to try to ask Pinkie Pie why again, but placed it back on the table as she knew asking would be asked in vain. After all, she's Pinkie Pie. Twilight, her attention now turned to the mess on the coffee maker, magic grabbing a rag and cleaning up the mess, asked casually, "Well, since we're both up, would you like to have some coffee? I got a new coffee maker." The purple unicorn grimaced as she cleaned up some coffee off her mane.
"Well gee, I would, but I have no single idea what's coffee!" Pinkie piped.
Twilight froze and dropped the rag, turning slowly to the party mare; she asked suspiciously, "You've never had coffee before? Then how do you be so hyper?"
Pinkie Pie patted her head and replied, "Sugar, duh!" The pink mare rolled her eyes and shook her head, disappointed that Twilight never knew.
Twilight raised an eyebrow, and suggested, "Well, you should try coffee, it's much better than sugar."
"Coffee is much better than sugar?!" Pinkie Pie asked in shock; for the fact she had been relying on sugar to keep her active all her life.
With a sly smile, Twilight prepared the second cup of coffee, "Of course! Why don't you have a try?" Completely forgetting about the test, she said.
Pinkie grinned, never had she had anything that gave a better rush than sugar, and she couldn't wait to try it! Who knows what amazing things she could do with it; bake cupcakes, visit Dashie, take care of the cake twins, bake cupcakes....
In the midst of her thoughts, the coffee had been prepared. Twilight levitated the blue cup to her, prompting her to take a sip, "Come on, just try!"
Pinkie Pie eyed the black liquid in the cup which she was now holding, slowly she lifted it to her mouth; the steaming hot liquid touching her lips slowly made its way into her stomach, she chimed, "That wasn't that ba-"
And Equestria exploded.
