Double The Nightmare

Chapter 1

Celestia stood in the throne room of the castle of the royal pony sisters. A stern look was on her face as she faced her younger sister.

"Luna I will not fight you! You must lower the moon, it is your duty!"

"Lu-na?" The black mare before Celestia questioned the name with a snark. Then gave a dry chuckle.

"I am Nightmare Moon, and I have but one royal duty" she got into an attack position. "and it is to destroy you."

The next thing the solar princess new Nightmare shot a beam of magic straight at her sister, with every intent to kill. It would have hit her, but seeing that they were now fighting Celestia took flight. Trying to lose her raging sister, the princess flew out of the hole in the roof at top speed.

"And where do you think you are going?" Nightmare smirked giving chase of her older sister.

Celestia flew in and out of the castle on all sides trying to get away from her raging sister. Her efforts were successful until she stayed in one spot foot a moment too long. Noticing her opportunity Nightmare shot a beam into her sister's chest, causing her to yelp in pain. Then with her muscles temporarily seized up Celestia fell back through the hole in the castle ceiling.

Seeing how her sister went down easily, Nightmare Moon couldn't help but laugh. She watched from above as her sister laid motionless on the castle floor.

[I'm free! With Celestia gone I'll never have to be ignored again. Ponies will finally come to respect the night!]

"Haha hahaha HAHA!"

Nightmare's laughing unfortunately for her sake distracted her from her sister's getting up. Celestia looked up at her younger sister, her mind was now made up. If she wanted to keep balance in Equestria then drastic measures were going to have to be made.

"I'm sorry sister, but I'm afraid you have forced me to use... these." Celestia called up to Nightmare Moon in last hopes of her changing her mind and lowering the moon.

Lighting up her horn, the floor started to glow as a hidden shrine slowly rose out of the ground making load mechanical noises. The elements of harmony that were stationed upon the shrine started to glow golden and float towards Celestia. They encircled her as she rose out of the castle once again to face her sister.

Nightmare's expression changed instantly, the sight of the elements was an extremely worrying thing. Mostly because she knew what they could do. But there might be a slight chance of winning if she attacks first.... right?

She was willing to chance it because both mares began to power up their attacks. Nightmare Moon was the first to fire in hopes of destroying her sister before she could use them on her. Her beam got half way to Celestia before it was countered by a similar size magical rainbow beam. Nightmare Moon was fighting back with all her might however her attack was quickly being overpowered by the elements. Once the rainbow beam hit her she no longer had enough power to resist the elements.

"Noooo!" Was all that was heard throughout the landscape as Nightmare Moon was engulfed by the power of friendship and banished to the moon.

"I'm sorry sister. I wish you didn't have to be so alone." At this point Celestia openly gave way to tears. Then the elemental beam faded away.

I was heading home after a long day at work. Sure being a store clerk isn't very tiring job physically but mentally I was spent, the constant stress of getting everything scanned and payed for within the patience of the costumers was something I was never really good at.  In fact dealing with people in general was never really my forefront. But I had to do what I could if I wanted to eat.

It was dark out and my headlights were quite dim. My little peace of garbage called a car was sputtering and backfiring as I made my way down the backroads. The noise only seemed to grow as time passed, until finally with a loud bang the life of the vehicle gave out. I had only owned the thing for three weeks.

"Awww come on!" I yelled at my car out of pure frustration. "Why can't anything go right in my life!?"

I blinked then I felt a sensation of being stretched around like an elastic band. Once I opened my eyes again I was no longer sitting in my car but I was on the moon.

"Like this for example." I deadpaned.

Ugh, w-what!
