Twilight Sparkle trotted out of her library, Spike trailing her and listing off the plans for today. “First, we have to pick up some cupcakes from Sugar Cube Corner. Second, the Princesses demanded that we make our way to Canterlot as soon as possible.”
“Right. Let’s pick up the cakes and make our way to the train station.”
“Right.”
As they walked away, they were unaware of someone watching them from the corner of the street. With a quick cackle, she teleported away, leaving the duo to their cupcakes.
Pinkie watched as Twilight and Spike walked in. “Hey, guys!” She said, wolfing down a cake in the process. “Watcha doin’?”
“We’re just here to pick up some cupcakes and then we’re going to Canterlot. The Princess requested our presence.” Twilight’s eyes lit up. “Do you wanna come?”
“Sure! Who wouldn’t?”
“Great, let’s just grab something to eat real quickly and be on our way.”
The trio quickly ate a combination of Spaghetti, Pizza, and Gemstones. As they trotted out the doors, Rainbow Dash swooped down, landing in front of them with a crash. Standing up with a whinny, she darted toward Pinkie. “Hey, Pinkie. I had a great idea, grab some coffee grounds and meet me at the water tower.”
“Sorry, Dashie. Me and Twilight are going to Canterlot. Hey, you wanna come with?”
“Sure. Lemme just grab Scootaloo and we’ll be on our way. I promised her parents I would watch her for the day. I’ll meet you at the train station.” She flew off, leaving the trio in the dust.
Rarity was working on her new line when Applejack and Fluttershy walked in. “Hiya Rarity. We promised Apple Bloom we would take her to see the Castle of the Two Sisters today and she wanted to see if Sweetie Bell could come.”
Apple Bloom popped up from behind Applejack. “Can she, can she?”
“I’m so sorry, Darling. She’s visiting the Crystal empire with our parents this week. I would’ve gone too, but I need to work on some fabrics for my new line.” She sighed. “I still haven’t been able to replicate the patchwork from the fabric I retrieved from the Castle.”
“We’re heading over there anyway; do you wanna come with us?”
“I suppose. I’m not going to get much done sitting around here.”
The three mares trotted out the door of the boutique. “It’s too bad Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle couldn’t come. This is the perfect Crusading opportunity. Ah well.”
The four ponies walked towards the Everfree forest, unaware of a creature watching them from a window, eating Root Beer and drinking Pizza. She cackled and teleported away.
Shining Armor got out of bed to find his wife cooking breakfast in the royal kitchen. “You know we have servants who can do that right?”
“Of course. I just thought you might like a hoofmade breakfast for once.”
“Well, thank you. You know that you should be resting right?”
“Relax, Shining Armor. The baby will be fine.”
“I know. I just worry about you.”
“I’ll be fine. Oh, don’t forget that Sweetie Belle and her parents are visiting today.”
They never noticed the creature outside their window.
Queen Chrysalis walked through Canterlot, looking at all of the arrogant ponies in disgust. "What I would give to wipe this town off the map." She muttered. "Tomorrow, the invasion shall be underway." Her general walked beside her, passing as brown earth pony as he walked. "Of course, your Highness. I shall warn the troops." He bowed and quickly spread his wings, flying off into traffic. A shadow teleported away with a laugh.
Sombra floated through the Crystal Empire, looking at all the crystals with a gleam in his eyes. "Soon..." He said, floating to his lair at the tip top of the crystal palace. "Tomorrow, this will be mine once again." He curled up in a cloud of shadow and sighed. "Tomorrow..." He never noticed the shape outside his door.
The draconequus teleported away to her castle in the void and cackled at her own brilliance. “They’ll never guess who I am. They’ll blame Discord and Equestria will be mine for the taking!” She cackled and teleported to her room, lying down with her pet platypus. “In just a few hours, Equestria will belong to me.”
