Chapters The ring of a store door was heard as a redhead teenage girl finally had a smile. “I did it I got it.” Lauren Faust said as she finally got the pony she was missing to complete her collection, she was happy for it. As she walked down the street with the prize in hand something caught her eye. It looked like a small medal with a strange mark of a ink and feather quill. “Where did you come from?” she asked confused.
Suddenly it glowed as a vortex opened up and sucked her in. The only things heard from the poor soul was her scream and the medal saying something as it it had a recording.

(Equestria, nearly 2,000 years ago)
With a fright, the girl awoke, her whole body feeling different. ‘What's goin on-’ She attempted to stand only to fall over. She kept it for a few more attempts until she landed near a small pond. There she could see her reflection.
Staring at her wasn’t a human but a equin face. She screamed at this. She looked herself over. ‘Horns, Wings, ink and quill cutie mark, oh my god, I'm a pony an Alicorn?’ The revelation stopped her mind for a few moments.
She looked around the little groove she was in. ‘Ok you can do this.’ Faust said to herself. She attempted to move her new body. It was weird like learning to walk again. As she got the hang of it. After a few shaky attempts she started walking through the forest.
Everything looked so colorful, almost like it was cartoon itself. ‘You got turned into a Alicorn it's not like.’ She stopped as she heard some crying. she turned to see something that make her eyes go wide.
“Oh my god.” She screamed at this, in the little clearing was two foals, one was white and pink mane, the other was blue with a lighter shade of a mane. ‘Oh my god.’
Faust walked up into the clearing. ‘This is impossible… I can’t.’ She looked into both their eyes and something within her clicked.
“Star Swirl, why are we even hear?” a voice rang out in the woods. A pegasus along with a earth pony, and a Unicorn followed a bearded Unicorn in star ropes.
“Last night I had a vision, i saw a earth pony, Unicorn and Pegasus and saw them merge into this, Alicorn.” StarSwirl said. However as they got to the clearing the unicorn earth pony and pegasus each stopped and looked at who was in the clearing.
“You were right.” Unicorn said at seeing the three in the clearing.
Faust was totally lost for words. ‘This is actually happening?’ She asked herself. The two little ones were afraid of the newcomers. Faust gave moved them behind her for a bit. The bearded Unicorn was the one who stepped up.
“I’m sorry if we started you, I am Star Swirl the bearded, and they are commander Hurricane.” The pegasus Commander Hurricane as he was called. “Chancellor Puddinghead.” The earth pony had a look of amazement at the Alicorn. “Finally this is Princess Platinum.” The unicorn with Star Swirl.
Chancellor Puddinghead was the one who recognized something the others didn’t, “Oh my you're a mother.” She said pointing to the two foals with her with her hoof.
The others all soon saw the foals with the Alicorn. They all had a look of shock. Faust looked at the two little ones with her. “look I’m…” however she felt the little blue grab her leg and looked at her with the eyes. ‘Ahhhh so cutie… I can’t believe what I’m about to do.’ “Yes, I’m Lauren Faust and these are... Celestia and Luna.” She said giving the foals each a name. The White one Celestia and the blue one Luna. 'Why did I even call them that?'
The four ponies moved back and started to talk to themselves. ‘What are they talking about?’ Faust asked herself. After a bit of arguing the four step up and bowed before her.
“What’s going on?” She asked.
“We came to ask you Noble One to lead us.” Star Swirl asked. Right there and thing Faust mind gave out. While she didn’t fall over it could be seen plain as day she had fainted standing up.
(Equestria Present day)
Outside the city a certain Lord of Chaos was sitting on a cloud and watched as the whole of Canterlot with visitors from all over Equestria welcomed the ascension of their newest princess.
For Celestia it was a day of happiness for Discord however it wasn’t. In has hands was a invit which he lit on fire. As he turned away he shook around as he sensed something. ‘What was that?” Discord asked himself. He teleported off to find this disturbance in the magic force.
“Ok then what's the…” Discord stopped as he saw someone he thought was gone. “Mom.” Discord said with his eyes wide open at the figure.
At Canterlot the celebration was over with her being Equestria's newest princess. Twilight friends walked up to her. “So how does it feel to be a princess darling?” Rarity asked.
Twilight was about to answer but a little black thing tackled her. It was her adopted daughter Nyx. “I can’t believe it, you're an Alicorn and a princess! My Mother is a princess!” Nyx was Nightmare Moon reborn, just after the Crystal Empire returned Twilight got foalnapped and after stopping a little ritual from a possessed cult Nyx was born.
Celesta and Luna came walking up with Cadence and Twilight's brother Shining Armor. "Auntie Cadence uncle Shining." Nyx said at seeing them. However a guard came rolling in on roller sakes He crashed right into the wall. Everypony winched at it. He got up trying to stay standing.
"Princess, Discord just came to the castle and took over your room." The guard said before falling down. Celestia and Luna both took off.
Twilight turned to Cadence and Shining. "Watch over Nyx thanks." Twilight said as she and her friends took off to follow the Princesses.
When the eight got to the door they saw Discord himself waiting for them. "Discord what did you do!" Celestia yelled.
Discord had a glare. "Would you keep it down, I didn't do anything I just placed her in your bed she needs time to rest." Discord said.
Applejack raised a eyebrow. "Who is she?"
Discord opened the door. revealing a Alicorn with red mane and a ink and quill cutie mark. "Mom?" both Luna Celestia said in shock wide eyed at seeing the mare that raised them
"Wait Mom?" Twilight asked.
"Yes allow me to introduce you all to our mother Lauren Faust." Discord said.
"Wait, our mother? Discord your brother?!" Rainbow Dash asked. Celestia know they all wanted answers to this.
"We can explain."
Sitting in a table Discord summoned up the six bearers of harmony couldn’t wait to hear the Explanation from Discord and the royal sisters. “Ok then so were should we begin? How a child comes to be or?’ Discord started using toy puppets until Celestia gave him a glare to stop.
“How about this: who was that?” Twilight asked, she had never once heard about Celestia mother.
“You know why me and Luna only call ourselves Princesses?” Celestia asked hoping for a recap.
“Actually, nopony never asked that.” Twilight answered back.
“It’s because technically Equestria has a Queen, our mother Lauren Faust.” Luna told them.
“You see shortly after the three tribes united Star Swirl the bearded had a vision about a being with the traits and powers of the three tribes in one, with the leaders of the three tribes he went to find this being.” Celestia started. However Discord decided to interrupt.
“Mine if I give them visuals?” Discord asked.
“Why?” Luna asked.
“Because it's more fun that way.” Discord answered.
Celestia rolled her eyes. “Fine, whatever.”
With that images appear like a story book showing Star Swirl and the three tribe leaders. Star Swirl showing the vision of the creature with all three races powers and traits. “In a forest that Star Swirl recalled seeing he found the being of his vision, our mother Lauren Faust and her foals.”
The images saw the four finding the Alicorn from before with two little playing foals. However the images soon showed the three leaders and Star Swirls bowing to Faust.
“Ok I get the whole reason you both are her daughters, Alicorns and all but what about him?” Rainbow Dash asked, pointing an accusing hoof at the Spirit/god of Chaos.
Discord seemed disgusted at the hoof. “Well if you must know I was… well… you know.” Discord started but refused to say that word. He never wanted to say that vile, evil word.
“Oh I see, Discord was adopted.” Pinkie Pie said. Suddenly the whole room seemed sixty degrees colder. In fact it was sixty degrees colder. Both Celestia and Luna moved away from Pinkie Pie and Discord.
“Oh Pinkie Pie.” Discord started his head low and his voice calm. Twilight, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Rarity, and Fluttershy all felt a little voice in their minds telling them to run. Pinkie Pie however ignored the voice trying to save her from the horror she had just unleashed.
“Yes Discord?” Pinkie asked. Discord walked up to the pony with a smile. Then grabbed her by the neck choking her and slowly lift her up to his eyes.
There was nothing but pure, undiluted rage. For a moment all of Canterlot, -minus the room Faust was in- was turned inside out upside down and all around. A great voice boomed across the whole of the continent, from the frozen north, to the badlands of the south, and even to the Griffins’ homeland of Griffinstone. “IF YOU EVER SAY THAT WORD TO ME AGAIN I WILL UNLEASH UPON YOU A FATE SO VILE, AND TERRIBLE IT WILL BREAK YOU VERY SOUL AND MAKE YOU BEG FOR THE MERCY OF DEATH ITSELF !”
With that Canterlot returned to normal. In the room Celestia and Luna started to calm down. It had been a thousand years since anyone was foolish enough to say the forbidden word to Discord. They were used to it but for Twilight, Rainbow, Fluttershy, Applejack, and Rarity all were shaking in fear at the outburst.
On the ground Pinkie Pie was foaming at the mouth as her mind was overloaded by the pure, undiluted, unedited fear. However Discord was in a corner all depressed with an aura of depression around him as the part of the room -though perfectly lit- was darkened around him.
“What. Was. That?” Twilight asked as she and the others took deep breaths at what they had seen. Celestia gestured them closer and whispered to them:
“Discord doesn’t like to be reminded he was adopted.” Celestia then pointed to Pinkie Pie. “That was actually pretty mild compared to what Discord use to do.” Celestia warned them.
“So how did Discord get adopted, if you don’t mind me asking?” Rarity asked.
“Well It kinda went like this.” Luna started.
(Flashback to the day of Discord’s adoption)
Faust gave a sigh at all this. “I can't believe I agreed to be their Queen, what was I even thinking?” Faust asked herself. It had only been a few years since she came to Equestria as it was known. A lot had happened to the poor girl.
One she had basically just become a mother. That was actually the mildest change to her life. She soon became Queen to a race of techno colored ponies. The paperwork was a hassle, but so was ruling the fledgling nation.
The room to her study burst open as Luna was seen racing away with a toy in her mouth. Celestia running right after her. “Mommy, tell Luna to give me my doll back!” Celestia screamed.
Luna shook her head as she held it in her hooves. “No, I’m keeping it.” Luna said. Faust gave a groan at this.
With her horn glowing the two fillies were picked up in her magic. Magic was a saving grace for her. Turns out she had the magic of the three races all within her. This fact was what helped the three tribes get behind her. She wondered how much that really played into it and how much horse, or in this cause pony, herd instincts played into it.
“Ok, what are you both fighting about now?” Faust asked.
“Luna took my doll of a dragon!” Celestia accused her sister.
“I want one, and you never play with it!” Luna countered back.
Faust gave a sigh at this. ‘What else could go wrong?’ Faust asked herself. She however she have known never to tempt fate.
“My queen, you must come quickly! We found something in the forest to the south.” A guard exclaimed as he shot through the open doors. Faust cursed fate for doing this to her as she spread her wings.
Faust flew to the forest where the sighting came from, and had to admit things were a bit off. For one, it seemed the trees were now sporting polka dot colored leafs, with trunks colored blue. The grass which was normally green was now a mix of blue, yellow and white.
Above them, a few clouds seemed to be made of cotton candy. As she walked deeper she saw animals floating around, dice the size of basket balls, vines playing the harp, and animals dancing around doing the tango. All the crazy stuff happening around her made her want to know what could cause this mess.
Finally, she got her answer in the middle of a glowing bush she saw a little... thing. It was the best she could come up with at seeing the miss matched newborn thing. “What are you?” Faust asked the little thing. The little creature was scared of her and reacted. All around her everything shifted with the clouds coming to attacker her, and the animals growing long legs and running around.
Faust used her magic to put up a barrier around her. The clouds hit and fell over revealing chocolate milk, and the animals parted around the shield. As the barrier fell, the little thing moved back with a look of fear in its eyes. Faust turned off her magic at seeing its fear. She laid down hoping to show she meant no harm.
“I'm not going to hurt you.” Faust said using a calm voice. With great hesitation the little creature slowly moved towards her. Once it touched her muzzle its fear was replaced with a look of joy. This confused Faust greatly. Then she saw her mane was now rainbow colored and her coat was poka dot. The little thing gave a laugh at her.
An hour latter Faust had came back to the castle with the strange creature on her back. “What is it?” Luna asked, the doll forgotten. She attempted to poke it with her hoof only for Faust to stop her.
“I don’t know but he has some kinda strange magic, he was altering the forest around him in chaotic way.” Faust answered.
(Flashback end)
“Afterwards, he started causing mischief and discord, within the castle, so mom gave him the name Discord and he became our brother.” Luna finished the story.
“There something I don’t get, if you three grew up in Canterlot why did you move to the castle of the royal sisters?” Rainbow Dash asked.
“Because Rainbow Dash, I left Canterlot in ruins.” Discord said answering her as he stood up.
The entity of Chaos looked at them all. “The day that my… our mother.” Discord said as he emphasized Luna, and Celestia as well. “Disappeared into the Ethereal plane was the worse day in my life.”
Discord turned away. Celestia decided to continue for him, as Discord didn’t want to remember this. “Discord slowly slipped into insanity after she disappeared, we tried to help him, but by then it was too late.” Celestia finished.
“So then he conquered Equestria forcing you both to find the Elements of Harmony to imprison him.” Twilight finished.
“It couldn’t be helped, nothing we did got through to him, and by the time he took over Canterlot he had disowned us as family.” Luna added. Unknown to Twilight and her friends, that day was actually one of the worse days in the royal sisters lives. For they didn’t use the elements immediately when they got them. They attempted one last time to get Discord to stop. When he attacked them and tossed them away, they knew there was no other choice.
Discord however knew what he had done would make Faust disappointed in him. ‘Mother I’m sorry.’ Discord said with a thought.
In Celestia's room Faust awoke with a groan. “What happened? Am I back in Equestria?”
Faust looked around the room she found herself in. “Where am I?” Faust asked herself. She tried remembering what happened. ‘Wasn’t I trapped in the Ethereal plane?’ Faust thought to herself.
She decided to get up and figure out what happened and why was she back. She opened to door and found no pony standing outside.
Thinking nothing of it she went down the hallway. However she came to turn she bumped into somepony. “Oh I’m sorry.” Faust said.
The pony she bumped into was one of the castles maids. “No it's alright.” However the mare looked at Faust seeing the wings and horn and was shocked by this. “You're an Alicorn? But I thought the only Alicorns were the royal sister, Cadance and Twilight Sparkle.”
Faust was a bit taken by the whole statement. ‘Wait there are two more Alicorns? Did Celestia and Luna find love while I was away?’ She didn’t get to dwell on this too much though she had to figure out what was going on. First things first find her daughters and her son.
“Well I know this may sound like much but do you know where Celestia, Luna, or Discord is?” Faust asked the maid.
“They’re in room down the hall take a left then a right, though I must ask why you need to see them?” The Maid asked.
“Well because I’m their mother.” Faust answered.
“Your their mother?” The maid asked in surprised.
‘How long was I gone?’ Faust asked herself. It was common knowledge of who she was by her time. Even if she was gone for a few centuries she should still be known. However what could have happened to Equestria? “Yes, I’m Lauren Faust.”
Back in the room with the others. No one wanted to talk as the three older beings let the while revelations sink into the others within the room. Pinkie Pie then shot up. “What just happened?” Pinkie asked. She attempted to remember only for her mind to inflict pain on her.
“The whole tale of how the spirit of Chaos became the son of a Queen, and why I became a statue.” Discord summed up what she had missed while she was unconscious.
However the door to the room opened up with somepony walking in. “Celestia, Luna, Discord?” All the rooms occupants turned to the newcomer to the room. Standing there was the mare who raised Celestia, Luna, and Discord.
Equestria’s long lost leader. Queen Lauren Faust. “Mom.” Celestia, Luna and Discord all said together.
Discord was first to actually make a move. He gave her a hug while tears rolled down his eyes. Faust blinked at his actions. He was after all more clingy than his siblings but he never did this. “I’m sorry, I’m so sorry.” Discord said with tears.
Faust turned to his older siblings. “Why is Discord acting like this? How long was I gone” Faust asked, Celestia and Luna. The two siblings looked at each other then at their mother.
"Mother, you been gone for over a thousand years.” Luna said deciding to answer the second part first.
Celestia wanted to curse Luna out for leaving her to answer the first part. “Mom after you were gone Discord, went on a rampage.” Celestia started.
(Flashback, just after Faust disappeared)
“Discord, brother dear come out.” Celestia said, as she knocked on the door to Discord’s room inside Canterlot. Luna came walking up to her a look of concern. They both took their mother's disappearance hard. There younger brother Discord however was another story. He was always different, his powers, his appearance just who he was.
All of Equestria was now turning to them for guidance, Turning to Faust children to help step in the void. “Brother dear please come out.” Luna begged him. The door finally opened up and they saw Discord’s room. It wasn’t as chaotic as it usually was and there younger sibling in in the middle of the room.
“Discord?” Celestia said trying to comfort him. However he turned to them slowly.
The look he head on his face. It was a smile. One that wasn’t of happiness. “Yes, sister dear?” Discord asked.
(Flashback end)
“Things soon got out of hand and Discord…” Celestia stopped herself.
However Discord couldn’t take it. “Tia don’t try to erase what I did.” Discord snapped at her. He turned to Faust. “I conquered Equestria and sent it into chaos.”
Discord looked away from Faust. He was ashamed at what he had done and didn’t expect what happened next. “Discord, you know I could never be ashamed of you.” Faust said giving him a hug.
Discord had tears in his eyes. "Thank you Mommy."
The sight to Twilight and her friends was unbelievable. Discord arguably the most feared being in Equestria. Was crying and was almost relate them. When it was over Faust turned to Twilight. "So do I have to ask." Faust turned to Celestia and Luna. "I come back to find out I'm a grandmother?" Faust gave a wink. “Come on which of you found a special somepony.” Faust asked Luna and or Celestia. Twilight was wide eyed by this.
“Well you see we kinda haven’t….” Celestia started as she a Luna both tried to look away.
Faust looked at the younger Alicorn then at her daughters. “She isn’t my granddaughter is she?” Faust asked.
“Well no, I just became a Alicorn.” Twilight answered back.
“Well technically Nyx should be your granddaughter.” Pinkie Pie swaid butting in.
Twilight gave Pinkie a raised Eyebrow. “How is that?” Twilight asked.
“Well she is Nightmare Moon reborn and Princess Luna was Nightmare Moon.” Pinkie asked. However Luna herself just realized something. Technically Nyx was her daughter.
“Ok lets move the plot along and introduce Equestria to it's long last Monarch.” Discord asked.
“It's perhaps for the best. I get the feeling after a thousand years nopony remembers me.” Faust said remembering the maid surprise at hearing about her.
Canterlot was getting ready for the summer sun celebration. Ponies went around getting everything ready. However what they also were doing was talking about a rumor. “You hear, the princess's mother has returned.” One of ponies on a table said to the others.
“I here she some kinda ancient goddess.” Another said.
“I heard that she going to retake the throne as Queen.”
Inside the palance Faust looked at the windows detailing all she had missed. She saw her son raise into being a tyrant. Her Luna giving into her own darkness to become nightmare moon. The newest heroes and what they had done.
As she came walking up she saw Twilight Sparkle as she last recall and her friends, talking about the celebration. “Queen Faust.” Pinkie Pie said with a bounce.
“Queen Faust Pinkie?’ Applejack asked.
“Please just call me Faust.” Faust said trying to be causal. She looked up at the stained glass window of Twilight ascension. “I’ve been gone for so long I don’t think I can ever really call myself-” However before she could continue Celestia came walking in.
“Am I interrupting something?” Celestia asked.
“No not at all.” Faust said with a smile.
“Mother shouldn’t you be in bed?” Celestia asked, Faust gave a sigh. She was feeling better but she knew she wasn’t going to get away from this.
“I just wanted to walk around a bit, nothing too big.” Faust said as she walked away. ‘I’m not needed anyway what could possibly go wrong?” Faust thought to herself as she headed off.
The next day Faust awoke to a strange site in the sky. The sun and moon floating in the sky at the same time. “This can’t be good.” Faust said to herself. She leaved to find her daughters and figure out what was going on.
As she ran along the unknown hallways she crashed into somepony. “Ouch what it… Oh Faust.” It was Twilight.
“Sorry Twilight I’m looking for my daughters.” Faust said.
“I’m as well they’re not in there rooms.” Twilight started.
“We should split up and try to find them.” Faust answered. Twilight nodded and after half an hour Faust came to find the guards asking Twilight what to do.
“What’s going on?” Faust asked.
“Celestia and Luna are missing and Twilight now in charge.” Spike answered. Faust cursed at this. She didn’t know Twilight but she had the feeling she had never ruled a nation before or delt with crisis.
‘I can’t believe I’m doing this.’ Faust moved up in front of the guard. “Twilight you go to Ponyville get your friends and the elements, you guards keep everypony calm while you start a search party.” One of the guards raised a hoof.
“Question who are you?” He asked.
Faust turned to him her wings out her horn glowing. She could feel her magic spreading out into the void of space. Only a few entities on the planet could do this. She felt her magic wraparound both the sun and moon. She remembered her first time moving these objects. In the room Faust raised and lowered her horn as the moon moved down. The guards look in awe at this. “I am Lauren Faust, I am their mother.” Faust answered.
The guards were in awe. “The Princess's mother? The rumors are true.” The guards gave a bow.
They soon went to do what they were told to do. While Faust gave a sigh. “It seems I still got it.” She walked to the throne for a moment her mind returned to years past. She was Equestria new Queen. The three tribes leaders ruled in council with her as she slowly became used to her job and the ponies her.
Eventually as her kids grew up they were also there with her. Discord scared many of them with both his appearance and powers. Her memories soon came to an end however when she saw Discord with a worried look in his eyes.
“No no no, this can’t be happening.” Discord said.
Faust moved to him. “Discord what is it?” She asked.
Discord turned to her and looked down. “Momma… I’m sorry.” She said with tears.
Faust raised an eyebrow. “What do you mean?”
Discord sighed. “I created this mess, the seeds were supposed to sprout long ago, I thought they had died but I was wrong.” Discord explained, he turned away from his mother.
Faust gave a sigh. “Discord I still love you no matter what.” Faust looked out. Her wings at the ready. “i think I know where your vins are attacking aren’t they?” She remember seeing it with him long ago. The thing in the heart of the everfree.
“The Tree of Harmony, yes.”
Faust walked out with his wings raised she turned to Discord. “I’ll be back.” She closed her eyes and opened them her main flowing ethereal. Lighting sparked around her wings as she took off into the sky. The sky above Canterlot gave the sound of a thundering sonic boom as a wave of lighting was seen heading for ponyville.
The vines moved around taking the town while Twilight and her friends look on at it. “What can we do to stop these things they just keep coming.” Rainbow Dash said. However the sound of lighting was heard as landing was Faust with her mane in its Ethereal form. It was almost like fire with stars in them. Faust raised her horn at the vines. A beam shot out at them and soon expanded in size and power the vines caught were slowly destroyed under the massive amount of magic.
“Girls there no time we got to return to the elements to the Tree of Harmony.” Several vines came at them but Faust gave another blast at them. “I’ll explain on the way.”
As they ran through the everfree Faust attacked everything in the way. “Whoa you're like some kind of super Alicorn.” Rainbow Dash said.
Faust gave a laugh at this. “In a way yes I am.” They finally got to the stairs leading to the tree. Faust looked as the vines covered the ancient entity. “Its slowly being killed by them.
The mane six held out the elements as they glowed sensing the tree. However the vines wouldn’t have it. With her horn raised Faust created a barrier around them as the gems returned to the tree causing a massive energy surge though it.
A few hours later Faust had returned her mane to normal and was back in the palace. A knock was heard on her room door. "Come in." Walking in was Celestia.
"Discord told us about the vines, and the guards have let it out about you." Celestia started. Faust gave a sigh. "Mom can you come with me?' Celestia asked.
Mother followed daughter into a room with several ponies from across Equestria. Luna was there with Discord off to the side. "What's going on?" Faust asked.
Celestia walked forward as Faust held back. "Citizens of Equestria, there has been rumors of mine and Luna mother returning, I have come to say they are not rumors."
Celestia motioned for Faust to walk up. The red haired Alicorn soon came walking up. "I give you all, Lauren Faust, mine and Luna's mother and Equestria long lost Queen." Celestia gave a bow. Discord and Luna did as well and slowly all the ponies their.
