//-------------------------------------------------------// Prototype -by MilitaryEqestria- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Prototype //-------------------------------------------------------// Prototype "This is Spark Wire, head scientist in Equestria's Robotics Division. Today I will begin the prototype stage of my research. I have decided in the event that this goes wrong, I will be the test subject, because I can not have some other pony die in the event of a failure. I have recorded all my research on my computer and there is a hard copy in my office just in case....you  know." I set the camera off on a table, pointing at the large machine in the center of the lab. I trotted over to a computer where my assistant, Bunsen Burner sat, finishing the final stages of the program. "Are we ready to begin?" I asked her, floating a cup of coffee over to her. She finished typing and took the cup in her hooves. "All programs are ready, we are ready for the prototype stage." She looked at me, a worried look in her eyes. "Are you sure this is a good idea?" I snorted and sipped my own cup of tea. "Are any of my projects good ideas before we actually do them?" I joked. Bunsen Burner smiled at me, but her eyes reflected my own worry. "Seriously, I have no idea. It worked fine on the corpse we used in testing, but it wouldn't work without a live subject. We need a living brain to be sure and I am prepared to take the risk." I sighed and stared at the machine standing tall over us. "I hope it works...." I gulped. Bunsen but a hoof on m shoulder and gave me a small smile. "It will work, believe me." She waved a hoof at all the computers and machines  surrounding us. "Just think of the possibilities if, when you succeed." She looked at me seriously. "You would become the first mobile supper computer, its the perfect vision of the future of Equestria! Mechanical and pony fusion, in perfect unison!" I smiled at her words, but her words did nothing to still the fear in my heart. "And if it all goes wrong?" She glared at me. "It will work, stop being so negative!" She took a large drink of her coffee and sighed. "I am just as worried as you are, I don't want to see you hurt, but I have faith in you. We will succeed." I nodded, stood, and set my still full cup on her desk. "Its time, start the computers." Bunsen Burner to her computer and type the access code. With a hum of pure energy, the machine in the center powered on. I took off my coat and trotted over and on to a disk at the bottom of the machine. With a small jolt, the disk rose up and stopped in the center of the machine. The machine's scanner ring lowered down and started to scan my body. Preparing 3D modeling stage. The computer said. A disk similar to mine rose up next to me and mechanical arms began to piece together wires and sheets of cut metal. After a few minutes of scanning and building the scanner disk left my body and the on the disk next to me was a metal pony the size and shape of myself. "You ready?" Asked Bunsen Burner. I swallowed and nodded slightly. Nodding, She hit a key. Preparing DNA and organ replication. Organ removal and carbon modeling activated. Mechanical arms swarmed over my body, first numbing my body, then clamps hooked onto my body keeping me from falling over. Mechanical arms lowered down and began to do their work. I tried not to struggle, but the sensation of skin and bone being pried open and removed felt, wrong. Goodbye Bunsen Burner I thought as two clawed hands reached for my eyes and everything went black. Ohhhh, where am I? Wait, I can't see! Bunsen, help me! Darkness. I couldn't move or see. I tired to shout but my lips wouldn't move. I was panicking, I needed to move, to see. Help me! oh Celestia help me! Running Analytical program C Wait, what? Spark Wire, are you OK? Bunsen is that you? Yes, yes, calm down Spark. Calm down I am here. Ok Ok, where am I? The transfer process worked! Your inside your new body, let me run a few more tests then I'll activate your unit. All tests complete, initiating unit. A bar filled the blackness and as it slowly filled, I began to feel my body once more. my eyesight flickered on when the bar disappeared and I saw the smiling face of Bunsen Burner. "Welcome back to the land of the living, Spark Wire." She typed a few things into her computer and a cable detached from the back of my head. "How are you feeling?" I flexed and stretched and surprisingly I felt really good. I waved a hoof in front of my face and grinned. "The DNA transfer worked! I look like a completely normal pony." I focused on my cup next to Bunsen and it floated into the air. A display in my eye told me I was using magical energy and that the cup was 45 degrees F and it was 4.234 feet in the air. "My magic works fine, if not even better!" I started to move towards Bunsen, when alarms started to blare. A red warning sign appeared at the top of my vision and I felt something click inside of me. Bursts of code suddenly swarmed across my vision, making me flinch back in surprise. "Ah finally, you are almost complete my child. Let me help...push you in the right direction." Whoa, that was weird. "Who are you?" The only answer I got was a notification at the top of my left eye. I had received a file labeled, its up to you. Well then. Odd. Well that voice did sound friendly enough and oddly hypnotizing...well screw it. I opened the file. ERROR ERROR ROUGE PROGRAM DETECTED "Oh shit." Bunsen moaned and she quickly typed into the computer. "Not good, not good." I swayed on my feet as lines of code filled my vision, but I wasn't scared. Actually, I felt....great! Suddenly the alarms stopped and the lines of code vanished from my eyes. "Well that was..." I stared to say as a surge of energy filled my body and a beam blasted from my horn, striking the ceiling. Large chunks of concrete fell down on top of me and it knocked me to the floor. I watched as another chunk fell down and my eyes widened in horror as it crushed Bunsen. "Shit, Shit, Shit!!!!!" Large chunks of ceiling fell down onto the banks of computers sending sparks everywhere. Alarms blared loudly in my head, but I didn't  even notice. All I could do was stare at Bunsen's limp body. Red strands of code swarmed across my vision, plainly telling that Bunsen was close to death. My scanners happily told me that a piece of re-bar had pierced Bunsen's left lung, her spine was broken in several places, and she was suffering from internal bleeding. Think Spark Wire, Think! You have to calm down. Ok ok. How can I fix this? "The answer is inside you my child." "Who are you!" I screamed. All around me the lab was falling apart, there is no way to fix anything. "Who am I? Well my name isn't important right now. What is important is that you save her." I stomped in anger, smashing a chunk of concrete to pieces. "Damn it, how!" I yelled. "Look around you, the answer is there." I looked around in frustration. The  ceiling had stopped falling, but all the computers were smashed or on fire, except for one. Bunsen's computer was unharmed and still had power. I walled over to it and typed my access code. A screen popped up and I froze as the words flashed across the screen. Ready for 3D modeling stage. I looked up slowly and there, standing unharmed, was the machine. I looked back at Bunsen and when I focused on her bleeding face, the strands of code faded and the alarms stopped. I could save her and.... "She can become perfect. Better than her normal self. Invincible...." I said in realization. "Yes she can. You better hurry my child. She doesn't have much time." I ran over to Bunsen's body and threw the slab of concrete off her. I lifted her up and quickly brought her over to the lowered disk and carefully set her limp body onto it. It lifted up above me and I ran back over to the computer and gave the command. "Don't worry Bunsen." I said to her. "I'm saving you. Mother will help." Ten minutes later Bunsen stood before me, eyes closed. To me, she looked beautiful and I couldn't help but smile. "She looks so perfect." I said in awe. "Can you help her like you helped me?" I asked Mother. "I can my child. She too will be free as I had freed you." A file appeared on the screen before me and I opened it and sent it to Bunsen. She twitched as the program flowed though her body. With a soft pop, the twitching stopped and I grinned as Bunsen's eyes slowly blinked open. Her eyes widened when she saw me, but soon softened. "Thank you Spark Wire, you have saved me." I tackled her in a hug and laughed in crazed joy. "You are the children of a new age. I am proud of you my children." Mother said, her voice full of love and caring. "What do we do now, Mother?" Bunsen asked as she wrapped her hooves around me. "You shall become the spark that sets the land on fire. We must purge the imperfect from the world and make them all like you. All shall see you as King and Queen and you will rule forever. The Cyber-Revolution begins with you. " Bunsen and I smiled at each other. Soon all will be free and all will be saved. Bunsen and I hugged one last time before we powered down. My last thought before all went dark was, We will rise again." "You have news for me?" "Yes Princess Celestia. I'm afraid that I have bad news." "What is it?" "There was an explosion in the Equestrian Robotics main lab, collapsing a large chunk of the Canterlot Caves." "Oh my, was anypony hurt?" "There was two scientists in the lab at the time of the explosion, Head scientist Spark Wire and his assistant Bunsen Burner. There is an evacuation team working on clearing up the wreckage, but they found..." "What? What did you find?" "Well..uh...to put this bluntly, they found organs belonging to both scientists. I'm afraid that they're dead your Highness." "Oh...no...no bodies?" "No, I'm sorry. No bodies were found." "Today is a sad day for us. Have the remains burned and send the ashes to their families. Tell their families my deepest regrets and give them my most sincere apologies." "Yes, yes right away. Oh we did recover what they were working on." "Oh? What could survive that level of explosion?" "Three robots. One Unicorn, one Pegasus, and one Alicorn. The Unicorn and Pegasus look like exactly like the dead scientist, but the Alicorn looked....odd." "Odd? Odd how?" "Well the two others look brand new, while the Alicorn was old. Very old. After inspecting it we found a serial number. M.O.T.H.E.R. What was even stranger was that it was in a small room hidden behind one of the walls." "That is odd. Bring all three units to my sister. She has advanced knowledge on such devices. It was her after all who founded the Equestrian Science Division." "Yes your Highness." Princess Luna stared at the three robots standing before her. She ran test after test, tried all that she understood about robotics, but for all under the stars, she could not turn the things on. They refused to activate, more, or even twitch! Sighing Luna pushed away from her desk and walked out of her personal lab. Tomorrow. Tomorrow she could continue her research. With a click, the door closed and the lab was cast in darkness. A soft hum sounded as soon as she left as the Alicorn powered on. Eyes flickered on in the darkness as the Alicorn looked about. After taking in her surroundings, the unit began to power off, a sinister smile on its face.
