"Now, Luna, watch how I carefully align the moon with the stars. Great accuracy and concentration is key. First, you need to position your horn until it's lined up directly with the moon. Are you watching?" "Of course Tia," Luna fake-smiled, lying through her teeth. She had other things in mind. The two sisters were huddled together under the moon, in one of the Canterlot gardens. Princess Celestia was desperately trying to teach her sister how to raise the moon, but Luna refused to listen.
'Luna...' A soft voice whispers into Luna's ear, causing it to twitch. 'Why do you let her tell you how to raise the moon? It's your job, not hers.'
'She's my big sister. I have to listen to her. I don't even know how to raise the moon yet.' Luna thinks to herself, communicating with the voice.
'As you grow older Luna, you'll be able to control the power of raising, and setting the moon. You don't need her to teach you what you're born to do.' The voice whispers. 'You'd be better off without her.'
"Luna?" Celestia asks, noticing once again that her younger sister wasn't paying attention. "Are you feeling alright?"
"Yes, sister. I'm just... tired. That's all." Luna frowned, trying to hide her emotions so that Celestia wouldn't worry about her.
"It has been a long day," Celestia sighs, "Get some rest. If you wake up early, don't hesitate to come to my bedchambers to see the sunrise. I know you enjoy watching me raise the sun."
"More than you could imagine, dear sister." Luna sighs, as her and Celestia take flight, the moonlight reflecting off their manes.
Luna enjoyed the feeling of flying, the calming wind passing through her mane, the draw and release of her wings... She felt so... Free.
As the two sisters landed in front of Luna's bedroom, a pair of Celestia's royal guards galloped up to them, the two of them seemed to be spooked.
"We're sorry to bother you, your royal highness," one of the guards spoke, making sure not to forget to bow. "But information regarding the creature has been found. A unicorn by the name of 'Crystal Eclipse' reportedly had seen the creature nearby. Do you wish to speak to her?"
"Oh, yes, of course," Celestia sighs, "I will speak to her. Make sure to accompany her into the castle."
"Yes, your highness." The second guard nodded.
"Tia...?" Luna asked, tugging at her sister's mane. "Are you coming?"
"Luna," Celestia speaks firmly, "This is a serious situation. The creature we're trying to find is currently unstable. There are many important things I need to do..."
"But, Tia, you promised me that you'd tuck me to bed, and read me a story about-" "Luna." Celestia interrupts, before opening the doors to Luna's bedchambers
