Chapter 1 : Twilight's Err
It was just normal day in Ponyville just as it sometimes has and sometimes will be. What? Even Ponyville isn't perfect. Twilight Sparkle was practicing a new spell that she had created but not yet perfected. It was over the subject of alternate Universes/realities. Of course to study but also to compare them to Equestria. Because well, you see, Twilight had a fascination with new and unusual things. There was nothing wrong with it, it was just that Twilight had already read up on almost all there is to know about Equestria.
So why not learn about alternate realities? But yet, where was she going to get said spell? So far no one, not even Princess Celestia had made such a spell yet. But after days and weeks of attempt and failures she had still not been able to make the perfect spell to view the universe. Until, suddenly, one day she had come across the perfect combination of spells that would make even Princess Celestia jealous. And so starting on a new page she began experimenting with her newfound spell.
After a few days of experiments and notes, Twilight began to notice a few things. First of all the alternate realities were not what she expected. Not at all, they were mostly dull and the lifeforms there were at most, primitive forms of archaebacteria. Secondly they were all random, because after all she had just made this spell. And she had no idea how to go to specifically one universe after she had already seen it. Although she probably wouldn't even know a specific one to go to. Thirdly(this one actually was part of the second one) She had yet to come across the same exact universe twice. Figuring that there were multiples upon multiples of universe she decided to call it the ‘Multiverse’

“Pretty clever for me to think of that name, right Rainbow Dash?”
“Pssh, sure, whatever you say egghead.”
“I am not an “egghead! I am well read, and my head is of adequate size.”
“Okay sure.” Dash said as she lazily floated above.
“I don't even know why i'm trying this with you.” Grumbled Twilight.
“Hey!! Of course you would pick my awesomeness over somepony else. And after all, I am the only pegasus that can create a Sonic Rainboom.” she said as she flew around her quickly
“Okay, Okay, you got your point through. But at least you could be more reticent, after all, everypony is asleep and i honestly don't want to hear you bragging so late at night.”
“Retu-Wha?”
“It means to keep to yourself Dash.” Twilight said as she sighed.
“Fine, but i'll let you know that you can't contain this level of awesomeness for long.”
Twilight rolled her eyes and continued on her way to the Evergreen forest.

Well, you see, thats where this story begins to take a slight turn. Twilight had realized something every time she cast the spell....... It drained a lot of Energy and magic out of her.
But Sparkle had a hypothesis on how she could solve this. She just wasn't creating enough natural energy to view higher realities. Hence Rainbow Dash tagging along with her into the Evergreen forest. To Twilight this was the perfect place to start the experiment. After all, she hadn't met any ponies yet that wouldn't mind traveling into the Evergreen forest, let alone travel in the dark. And she had fair reasons to do so.
- She would have enough privacy to make this spell happen without anypony freaking out, and 2. She would be able to get the power from the Rainboom without bothering anypony. Or at least she hoped it wouldn't bother anypony.... Rainbow Dash WAS known for overdoing stunts sometimes.
“Okay Rainbow do your thing.”
“Okay Twi i'll do my best one so far.”
And at that Rainbow started flying upwards into the moon illuminated clouds.
“Remember Dash, try to keep it as Low as possible.”
“I don't know about that Twi, but i'll try my best.”
Rainbow Dash continued on her journey upwards. As soon as she predicted that she was high enough for a Sonic Rainboom she looked down and gave Twilight the signal that she was ready. As soon as Twilight saw the signal she began concentrating on the spell to collect as much as the Sonic Rainbooms energy as possible. She looked up at Dash and nodded.
Rainbow Dash began descending quickly. She was gaining speed quickly and could feel her mane being tossed around by the winds. Flying even faster she began picking up enough speed to make the Rainboom. Just a bit longer so that she could keep it as low as possible. Until finally,at the last second.....she pulled up. She did it, a Sonic Rainboom!!
Twilight immediately went to work on collecting the energy emitted from the rainboom. To which surprisingly there was enough of it for Twilight not to have to use her own energy. Twilight grinned and began concentrating on her “Multiverse” spell. But no sooner had she started to cast the spell than a portal appeared quicker then when she had used her own magic.
“Hmmm, i might have to give Dash credit on this one.”
Twilight was amazed and awed at the view set before her. A world with vibrant colors of green and blue. She zoomed in to an even more shock. The lands that seemed green were spotted here and there with gray. Moving in closer she almost passed out at the shock of her discoveries. She had found a civilization.
And it was populated!!
The evolution of this planet was well advanced and the technology surpassed even what was found in ponyville. There were weird metal carriages that weren't even Pony drawn. What she guessed were the owners of said technology were weird creatures. The way they walked, Bi-Pedal....almost reminded her of the Minotaurs she had seen in her books.....Just..less hairy.
As she kept on imagining on what she would be able to write about to the princess, she had yet to notice instead of the usual flat appearance of the portal. It was glowing and was ever moving at the edges. A major detail that Twilight would regret was that there was a breeze. Not from the forest, but coming from the portal.
Rainbow Dash was off in the distance returning from her speed rush.
As Rainbow Dash looked over she noticed that Twilight was just staring off into the distance.
“Huh, she must have not had enough energy to perform that spell of hers. I might as well......”
But little did Rainbow Dash know that only Twilight was able to see the portal. So as soon as she prepared herself she began flying upwards. Not noticing that her last Rainboom was not completely finished and that there was still a rainbow trailing her. So unknowingly Dash continued flying higher to perform yet another Sonic Rainboom.
Meanwhile Twilight was passing all around through the planet. Trying to take as much in as possible. But if only she wasn't so interested in the portal and more on what her friend Rainbow was up to. Maybe then nothing would have gone wrong. But yet again Twilight could have also rechecked her energy spell and maybe she would have noticed that it was still taking in all the energy from around her. But after all, these are only maybe’s.
Rainbow Dash began descending but only to notice that she was descending much more rapidly. But that there was also still a rainbow trail following her.
“Well this is new.”
But Rainbow Dash didn't let this perturb her as she quickly started descending. And descending even faster than before it didn't take long before she was nearing Rainboom speed. And nearing the point at where Twilight was standing. The wind was tearing at her mane and she began feeling a strange sensation. Different than from when she made a Sonic Rainboom. But as soon as she reached top speed she felt it.
She could have said that it was a Sonic Rainboom but it just didn't feel right. And did she not just here not one but two Rainbooms? She began looking back as she dared to view the scene. She was speechless, this was one of the only times you could say that Dash was speechless. As the scene before her unfurled and she saw TWO rainbows trailing her.
“Whoo hoo!! Double Rainboom all the way!!”
This was the first time in Equestrian history that a Double Rainboom had happened. At least the normal Sonic Rainboom was talked about but this wasn't even mentioned in any of Twilights books. If this didn't get her into the Wonderbolts then nothing would. But she didn't even glanced at what was happening to Twilight as she started slowing down. But even if she would have she still couldn't have stopped it from happening.
Twilight didn't understand what had went wrong, one second she was viewing the world while the next she felt a huge power surge and began to lose control. She then realized that her energy spell had still been in effect. But as she was shutting it down it was too late, she had already absorbed all the Rainbooms energy, and there was nowhere to vent this energy. Twilight knew that she had to vent the energy someplace else. But she also knew that if she focused on any other spell that the portal that she had created would disappear and be no more.
So against all reason in her will, she decided to vent all the energy on the portal. Not even knowing what would occur she gave it a go as she started channeling everything to the portal. The portal sputtered with the newfound energy now inside. And not soon afterwards expanded and, if it was even possible, the colors also brightened. And it was as if Twilight could sense that was she not only viewing the world but now inside of it.
Far away Rainbow Dash could tell something was wrong. She could see Twilight was struggling with something. And then right before her very eyes, Rainbow could see a portal and the world that laid inside. As she rushed over to help her friend she was held back by an unknown force. Watching helplessly from the sidelines, Dash had no choice but to wish for the best and hope everything went alright.
Twilight felt like she did years ago, in Princess Celestia's castle when she was taking her magic exam. She felt as she were about to be engulfed in pure energy. But no, she couldn't let that happen, not again. And Twilight kept on reminding herself that she was just a little filly when this happened, and so with that knowledge firmly implanted in her mind she kept on channeling all her energy into the portal.
When all of a sudden she felt a pull starting from the point of the portal. She stood her ground as she saw a huge tannish-black object come hurtling out from the portal. Colliding face first with her Twilight lost consciousness as her spell blew out in a bright flash of white for Rainbow Dash. But as for Twilight an expanse of darkness filled up her vision and she was knocked out cold.
