EPISODE 1: “PILOT”

CAST
Decibelle Rose: A Pegasus mare with a pale pink coat, reddish-brown mane and espresso-colored eyes. Headstrong and a bit neurotic when under a great deal of stress yet still selfless and considerate, often times putting the needs of others before her own.
Ginger Root: A Unicorn stallion with a cream-colored coat, auburn mane and sky blue eyes. A bit pessimistic but loves his girlfriend Decibelle very much, doing almost anything for her to make her happy, sometimes getting a bit jealous when she is around other stallions.
Rainbow Dash: A Pegasus mare with a sky blue coat, rainbow-colored mane and magenta eyes. Typical tomboy archetype, she is brash and cocky yet loyal and brave, never hesitating to help whenever somepony is in need.
Applejack: An Earth pony mare with an orange coat, light blonde mane and bright green eyes, usually wearing a brown cowboy hat and two red ribbons on her mane and tail. Speaks with a stereotypical southern accent. Stubborn and prideful yet honest and hardworking.
Decibelle & Gingerroot Episode 1: "Pilot"
[ACT I]
SCENE 1
[ The setting: The town of Ponyville. Celestia’s sun is just beginning to set as two ponies lie sleeping in a green meadow just outside the edge of the Everfree Forest when one of them slowly awakens to quite the surprise… ]
GINGERROOT: [ Groans ] What the hell’s going on…? Turn that damn light off...
[ He reaches up to his face to rub his eyes but quickly jumps back when he feels not a hand, but a hoof, touching his face!]
GINGERROOT: [ Shouting] Whoa—what the hell?!
[ His sudden outburst awakens the other pony lying next to him. ]
DECIBELLE: [ Muttering ] What’s wrong babe, are you—[ Screaming ] Oh my God!! Dude, you’re a…p-pony!! Like, a MY LITTLE PONY!!
GINGERROOT: [ Shakily ] Yeah, umm…so are you…!!
DECIBELLE: What are you talking about? I-I’m not a—
[ She looks down at her new form then jumps back, lets out a whinny and quickly covers her mouth with one of her hooves in shock and disbelief. ]
DECIBELLE: Wha-what’s going on? How is this happening??
GINGERROOT: Th-this isn’t real…I-I’m still dreaming...Th-This has to be a dream…r-right?
DECIBELLE: What do you mean, dreaming?! I’m right here!! Am I dreaming, too?
GINGERROOT: You’re n-not really my girlfriend…Y-you’re just a figment of my imagination…Right…? Y-You’re just a pink cartoon horse…w-with bird wings…that j-just happens to sound like—
[ Ginger is interrupted when Decibelle touches a hoof to his chest.]
DECIBELLE: Can you feel that?
[ Ginger quickly slaps her hoof away with his own.]
GINGERROOT: H-hey!! Wh-what are you doing, get OFF me!!
DECIBELLE: [ Assertively ] Can you feel that??
GINGERROOT: Of course I can, why??
DECIBELLE: [ Worried ] Th-then this isn’t a dream…Th-This is…real…
GINGERROOT: [ Skeptically ] And how do you know…c-crazy—cartoon bird horse?!
[ Decibelle stares deep into his eyes intently. ]
DECIBELLE: I can feel you, too…
[ Upon hearing those words, the expression on Gingerroot’s face quickly turns from disbelief to utter shock. ]
GINGERROOT: Oh, sweet Jesus…!!
DECIBELLE: H-how did this happen? WHY did this happen?! What—
RAINBOW: Heyy!! Are you guys all right down there??
Decibelle & Gingerroot Episode 1: "Pilot"
SCENE 2
[ The setting: Just outside of the Everfree Forest in the late afternoon. Two bewildered ponies are standing on the ground, staring up in disbelief at a certain rainbow-maned Pegasus flying overhead, staring back down at them with confusion and concern. ]
GINGERROOT: Holy SHIT, what is that thing?!
DECIBELLE: Looks like some kinda weird flying Skittle horse…
GINGERROOT: Umm…D-did it just talk? T-To US?!
DECIBELLE: I-I’m not sure…I th-think so—
[ Before either of them can speak another word, the “Skittle horse” swoops down in front of the pair, making them jump back slightly. ]
RAINBOW: Hell-O? Didn’t you guys hear me? I was asking if you were okay…
[ Decibelle & Gingerroot both stare at her for a while longer in shock before the pink Pegasus gives a forced grin and speaks… ]
DECIBELLE: [ Nervously ] Umm, yeah!! W-we heard you!! A-and we’re all right. [ Squeaking] I hope…!!
[ She nudges Ginger, who hesitantly puts on an equally awkward grin. Rainbow just stares at them, puzzled, before speaking again. ]
RAINBOW: Okaayyy…Well, what are you guys doing WAY out here? Y’know the Everfree Forest is kinda dangerous, right? Especially at night…
GINGERROOT: [ Gulps ] Umm, we kinda…d-don’t know how we got here…W-We just woke up…L-Like this…
RAINBOW: Really? Where are you from?
GINGERROOT: We’re from—mmph!
[ He is cut off when Deci shoves a hoof in his mouth to stifle him. ]
DECIBELLE: Umm, we don’t remember where we’re from, either… [ To Ginger ] Riiight?!
[ Deci grins awkwardly while moving her hoof up and down in her boyfriend’s mouth to make it appear as if he is nodding in agreement. ]
RAINBOW: You don’t remember where you live?
[ Ginger forcibly spits out his girlfriend’s dust-covered hoof to speak. ]
GINGERROOT: Umm, nope!! Not at all!! [ ]
RAINBOW: Well, that’s kind of weird…You guys want me to show you to a hotel or something?
[ Deci & Ginger merely stare at her blankly. ]
RAINBOW: I can show you guys where a hotel is if you want…You got any bits on you?
[ The two ponies look at each other, confused, before turning back to her and speaking. ]
DECI & GINGER: [ In unison ] Bits of what?
RAINBOW: Y’know, BITS!! [ Laughs ] You can’t stay in a hotel for free…
GINGERROOT: Umm, we…d-don’t have any uh, bits…
RAINBOW: [ Skeptically ] Nothing at all?
[ The expression on Deci’s face turns to that of sheer terror as what she just heard begins to sink in. ]
DECIBELLE: [ Shrieking ] Oh my GOD we’re homeless and broke what are we going to do?!
RAINBOW: Whoa whoa whoa!! [ Chuckling a bit ] Calm down, sister!! Uhh…s-so what if you don’t have any money or a place to stay? It’s not like it’s the end of the world or anything…
[ Deci collapses in a heap on the ground and begins to compulsively gnaw on her hoof, Ginger awkwardly smiling and glancing back and forth at the two mares. ]
RAINBOW: Look, it’s getting pretty late…I know somepony who can give you a place to stay for the night.
GINGERROOT: R-really?!
RAINBOW: Yep!! You guys just gotta promise not to freak out on me [ Laughing ] or her, okay?
[ A bit embarrassed, Deci stands up and gives her a small yet genuine smile. ]
DECIBELLE: [ Shaky breath ] O-okay then…I promise.
RAINBOW: All right then, come with me!!
Decibelle & Gingerroot Episode 1: "Pilot"
SCENE 3
[ The setting: Ponyville in the late evening. Luna’s moon is just beginning to rise as three ponies head into town, the blue one flying overhead a few feet above the other two following behind her on hoof. She flies ahead of them, glancing over her shoulder every now and then to check if her newfound companions are still close behind. ]
RAINBOW: You know, you guys didn’t even tell me your names yet!! Y’know, if you remember them and all…
GINGERROOT: Uh, yeah…D-did we forget to introduce ourselves? Sorry about that…My name is—hmmph!!
[ Gingerroot is stifled yet again by a familiar-tasting pink hoof shoved in his mouth. ]
DECIBELLE: I’m, uh…
[ She glances around nervously for an answer before noticing on her flank—a picture of a rose with a single leaf on its stem, curved upwards to resemble a music note. ]
DECIBELLE: M-my name is, umm…R-Rose!! Decibel—er, Deci-BELLE Rose!! I’m Decibelle Rose!! A-and this is my boyfriend—err, uh…
[ Decibelle looks at her boyfriend’s flank to see a picture of a ginger root emblazoned on it. ]
DECIBELLE:[ Excitedly ] Ginger Root!! This is my boyfriend, Gingerroot!! [ Nervous chuckle ]
[ Rainbow Dash looks back at the two skeptically for a bit before her face brightens up in a friendly smile. ]
RAINBOW: Well, all right then!! It’s nice to meet you guys!! Great that you at least remember your own names, too…
[ Deci grins awkwardly as Ginger spits out his girlfriend’s filthy hoof again and starts spitting even more to get the dirt and debris out of his mouth. ]
GINGERROOT: [ Whispering ] What the hell was that about? I kinda get that we can’t say that we’re really humans, but what’s with the stupid fake names?
DECIBELLE: [ Whispering ] Horses…don’t have regular names. They have like…cutesy, pet names like, uh…S-Sprinkles…or Elmer’s, or, umm…Secretariat or whatever!!
GINGERROOT: But I’m not a ginger, what do you mean?
DECIBELLE: [ Playfully ] Oh, really? Just check out that tramp-stamp you’re rockin’ there…
[ She points Ginger's flank, and he looks. ]
GINGERROOT: What are you talking abo—oh, COME ON!!
DECIBELLE: See? [ Giggles ] You, my darling dear, are now a branded ginger.**
*GINGERROOT: [ **] * I don’t want to be a ginger…**
*DECIBELLE: [ **] * Just roll with it, okay? You can be my little ginger… [ Giggles ] **
***RAINBOW: * Well I guess I should tell you who I am then, right? I’m the one and only RAINBOW DASH!!**
*DECIBELLE: [ **] * It’s very nice to meet you, Rainbow Dash.**
***RAINBOW: * Yep, and if there’s one thing you two should remember, it’s that I’m the fastest and most AWESOME flyer in all of Equestria!! Nopony can beat ME in a race, not even once!!**
*GINGERROOT: [ **] * More like Rainbow Dy—oww!!****
**[ ]
***RAINBOW: * What was that?**
***DECIBELLE: * Ohh, nothing, nothing!! Never mind!! [ Whispering to Ginger ] She’s trying to help us, the LEAST you can do is be polite!!**
***GINGERROOT: * But just look at her, she’s obviously a—**
***DECIBELLE: * Look, I don’t give a shit what you think right now. Whatever she is or isn’t is NONE of our business, so just keep your smart-assed mouth SHUT, okay?**
*GINGERROOT: [ **] * Fine…**

[ACT II]
SCENE 5
[ The setting: Late at night in Ponyville, as AJ is leading two new ponies into the barn at Sweet Apple Acres. ]
APPLEJACK: Y’all can sleep up here in the loft. C’mon now, don’t be shy!!
[ She proceeds to climb up a rope ladder into the loft. A bit confused on how to climb in their new equine bodies, Deci & Ginger hesitate before carefully attempting to climb up into the loft. ]
DECIBELLE: Thank you again, for all your help…W-we promise, we won’t be any—
APPLEJACK: Aw, now don’t you fret about it, sugarcube; it’s mah’ pleasure. Now go on an’ try to get some shut-eye, y’hear? Y’all gotta big day ahead of ya tomorrow…
DECIBELLE: Good night, Applejack.
APPLEJACK: Sweet dreams, Decibelle.
[ She smiles at Decibelle before heading back down the rope ladder, the light from the lantern fading as she descends, her footsteps fading out of earshot before the barn door is heard closing with a loud thud. ]
GINGERROOT: [ Sarcastically ] Well, THIS was an interesting day, wasn’t it?
[ Deci doesn’t respond, merely sitting with her back turned away from him. ]
GINGERROOT: …Umm, babe? Err…D-Deci? Decibelle…?
DECIBELLE: [ Snickering ]
[ Deci lay on her side curled up in a fetal position, giggling excitedly and compulsively stroking her tail with a hoof, a look of paranoid insanity on her face. ]
GINGERROOT: Oh, boy…You were holding in that nervous breakdown for quite a while, weren’t you?
DECIBELLE: [ Giggling and singing to the tune of the G3 MLP theme ] M-my little ponies, we’re my little p-ponies…[ Giggles ] We’re n-never gonna leave this place…[ Giggles ] My little ponies, my LITTLE ponies…[ Giggles ] What d-did I do to des-s-serve this fate?!
GINGERROOT: Oh, come on!! PLEASE don’t go insane on me, baby!! I need you!!
DECIBELLE: [ Singing ] My little ponies, MY LITTLE PONIES…!! [ Shrieking ] We’re all GLUED in the end!! [ Laughs hysterically ]
GINGERROOT: Oh, come on now, Deci!! Snap out of it!! Please…?
[ He smacks a hoof to his face in exasperation. ]
GINGERROOT: Seriously…? [ Sighs ] I REALLY don’t wanna do this, babe, but you’re kinda not giving me any choices right now…
[ He picks up a still maniacally giggling Deci and sits her upright before swiftly slapping her across the face. Deci’s neurotic grin is quickly replaced with that of a blank stare as she blinks twice. ]
GINGERROOT: You back to normal now?
[ His face immediately scrunches up as he feels a sudden excruciating pain between his hind legs, courtesy of Deci’s back hoof. ]
GINGERROOT: [ Squeaking ] I’ll take that as a “yes”…!!
[ He falls over into a fetal position, front hooves and tail tightly clutched between his hind legs in agony. Deci yanks him up by the horn to look him straight in the eye. ]
DECIBELLE: [ Sternly ] Don’t. You. Ever. Slap me. Like that. AGAIN. Understand?
GINGERROOT: [ Whimpers ] Mmm-hmm…!!
DECIBELLE: Good little ginger horsie. [ Giggles ]
[ She lets go of his horn, making him fall on his face before patting his head and flopping down onto the soft hay bed and covering herself with half of the quilt. Gingerroot shakily uncurls from his position and crawls underneath the quilt right next to her. ]
GINGERROOT: Babe, listen…I-I’m sorry, okay?
DECIBELLE: What, for slapping me?
GINGERROOT: Well, yeah, that too…B-But mostly for being kind of a jackass in general. I-It’s just that—
DECIBELLE: I get it…It’s not like every day you get inexplicably transformed into a pair of colorful talking cartoon horses…and then just plopped down into an ENTIRE WORLD full of colorful talking cartoon horses, y’know?
GINGERROOT: [ Laughs ] Yeah, I guess you’re right. You usually are…
DECIBELLE: It’s been hell for the both of us.
GINGERROOT: Seems like more for you…
DECIBELLE: [ Sighs ] But what do you think it’ll be like now, like THIS?
GINGERROOT: I have absolutely NO idea…[ Yawning ] Can I sleep on it?
DECIBELLE: [ Giggling ] All right then…But hey, guess what?
GINGERROOT: [ Grunts softly ] What…?
DECIBELLE: [ Softly ] I love you…
GINGERROOT: I love you, too.
[ The two ponies gently nuzzle each other before drifting off to sleep as the scene gradually pans to show the outside of the barn, then the entire farm, then Ponyville before panning up to the night sky and finally fading out. ]
