"No bamboo for you!" Scootaloo declared, jumping up and yanking the bamboo away from the panda. The panda sniffled, then flopped on the ground and bawled.

"Scootaloo, give the panda its  bamboo back," Sweetie Belle said, coughing from the dust cloud that had risen from the panda's impact with the ground.

Scootaloo shook her head. "No," she said, looking defiantly over at her friend as she dropped the plant on the ground and stomped on it with her hooves. The panda screamed even louder as she heard the sound of her stolen food being smashed into pieces.

"Scootaloo!" Sweetie Belle exclaimed. "What did you do that for? That was really mean!"

"It wasn't answering my question," pouted Scootaloo.

"Of course not! Pandas  can't talk, you dummy!"

"That's not true. This one can," Scootaloo argued. "I gave her a lesson on speaking. Then when I was done, I told her to take the bamboo from me if she could understand me and speak now. And she did! But now she's not answering my questions."

"And did you ever consider that maybe that's because she can't understand you?" Sweetie Belle deadpanned.

"Of course not. She's just misbehaving and refusing to take the pop quiz."

Sweetie  Belle  raised an eyebrow. "I doubt that."

Scootaloo gave the unicorn a pointed look, then booped the panda on the nose.

"Get your hooves off of me, filly!" it shrieked. Then it stood up and kicked Scootaloo into the air.

"I'm flyyyyyyying!" Scootaloo yelled as she soared through the air. Sweetie Belle watched her friend until she was no more than an orange speck in the distant sky.

"...Oh," she finally said. She shrugged and walked home.
