Fluttershy hummed to herself as she fed all her animals in the morning after she ate breakfast. After she was done she went to get her mail. On the top was a flyer that boldly stated: SAPPHIRE SHORES NEEDS NEW DANCERS! Usually Fluttershy threw these flyers away immediately since she hated to be in the spotlight. But this time she hesitated because she never got flyers from such an important celebrity. Holding the flyer in her hoof Fluttershy's brain was screaming for her to put the flyer in the trash but her hoof seemed to disagree. Sighing, she set the flyer on her table and went outside for a walk to clear her mind.
On the way to Sugercube Corner, Fluttershy met Rarity who was on her way to Fluttershy's cottage. Seeing she was already there Rarity burst out, "Fluttershy! Did you get that flyer? The Sapphire Shores one?"
Glancing at Rarity, Fluttershy nervously asked, " What about it?"
Rarity almost burst as she exclaimed, "Whatever do you mean? Obviously we are both going to sign up as a recruit!"
Gasping, Fluttershy took and step backwards and almost fainted as she whispered, "Your kidding right?"
Offended Rarity answered, "Darling why would you think I'm kidding? Of course we should both attend. I'm beautiful and you’re graceful so we would be a perfect pair of recruits!"
Horrified Fluttershy said, "But I don't want to be famous in the spotlight!"
After eyeing Fluttershy for almost a minute Rarity asked, "Why wouldn't you want to be famous? Besides, it's not like strangers will mob you! Sapphire Shores is the lucky one that gets that much attention.
Fluttershy stuttered, "B-but p-ponies will still notice m-me..."
Rolling her eyes Rarity started rambling, "No silly! We only get a little attention and then they forget about us. Which in my opinion, is hardly enough attention for such an important, beautiful, and lovely pony like me.
After snapping out of her daze Rarity suddenly said, "Never mind that! You will still sign up to be a recruit will you? Will you? Will you? Rarity was practically down on the ground pleading now.
Sighing in defeat Fluttershy said, "I'll think about it." Annoyed that her walk didn't help her, Fluttershy said bye to Rarity and went to Twilight to seek some guidance on the matter.
Arriving at the Golden Oak Library Fluttershy knocked on the door. A couple minutes later Spike answered the door and said, "Hey Fluttershy welcome in! What are you up to?"
Smiling at her friend Fluttershy said, "Nothing much I just want to see Twilight." Without another word Fluttershy stepped into the Library to find her. Spotting Twilight reading a book, Fluttershy waved and trotted over to sit next to her. Hesitating a little Fluttershy finally gathered up the courage to whisper hi.
Looking up from her book Twilight exclaimed, "Hi Fluttershy! I didn't notice you were there."
Having heard this response often, Fluttershy went straight to business and said, "Twilight may I discuss something with you?"
Closing her book Twilight responded, "Sure what's on your mind Fluttershy?" After taking a deep breath Fluttershy explained everything that Rarity said to Twilight and her concerns of being in the spotlight.
Smiling kindly to her shy friend Twilight explained, "It's not that bad being in the spotlight. You get many compliments and complains even those comments are a bit hurtful; but those will just give you something you need to improve yourself.
Now understanding this experience a bit more Fluttershy interrupted Twilight and asked, "May I ask you for more advice later?"
Delighted that Fluttershy took her advice Twilight answered, "Sure! Just swing by anytime." Thanking Twilight Fluttershy flew out of the library and went back to her cottage.
Back in her cottage Fluttershy had gears turning in her head as she tried to make her decision. As she started to feed the animal's their lunch and make a daisy sandwich for herself, she almost forgot add daisies since she was so deep in thought. Her mind was debating whether or not she should sign up as a recruit for Sapphire Shores. After finishing her sandwich she took a deep breath and made her decision. Fluttershy decided that she would sign up as a recruit. After all, her friends have been trying to convince her to participate in events just like this for years. She also knew that whatever happens, her friends would be there to back her up. Confident that she could do this Fluttershy decided to tell her friends her decision at their picnic gathering tomorrow. Fluttershy smiled thinking about her friends expressions when she told them the news. She even giggled as she imagined when Rarity would be like. Happy that she finally made her decision, Fluttershy headed towards the spa to destress after the day's crazy events.
When she arrived at the Ponyville spa, Fluttershy decided to first go into the steam room. Putting on her white and pink robe she sat there on the wood and enjoyed the humid steamy room as she closed her eyes and relaxed. After a couple of minutes, she decided to get a light mud mask without cucumbers on her eyes. Then, she asked for a nice and long light soothing massage from Lotus Blossom. As Lotus worked out all the stress in Fluttershy her body practically got completely limp since she was so relaxed. When the massage was over, Fluttershy went into a mud bath. Finally Fluttershy had a hooficure that shined up her hooves so she could even see her reflection in them. As she walked out of the spa she felt way better then before and more relaxed then ever.
Suddenly Fluttershy rushed back into the spa and glanced at the clock that was hanging on the wall. It read 7:00! That meant she lost track of time and was late to feed the animals their dinner! Fluttershy galloped quickly to her cottage and she franticly fed her animals hoping that they would forgive her. Especially Angel bunny since he was always picky about when, where, and what he ate. Gulping, Fluttershy nervously pushed a bowl of lettuce and vegetable to him. To her surprise he gulped it all down without and word and went back to his business. Sighing in relief she then made a quick daisy sandwich for her dinner. After that, Fluttershy started to feel her eyelids started to droop. Jolting back awake, she yawned as she decided to hit the hay. After taking a shower and brushing her teeth Fluttershy settled down into her bed. But it was only after tossing and turning for a few minutes that she finally fell into a deep dreamless slumber.

The next morning Fluttershy yawned as she awoke to sunlight streaming through her window. Blinking the sleep out of her eyes, she brushed her teeth, washed her face, and combed her mane. Fluttershy started to hum as she flew down the stairs to feed her animals. "Rise and shine everybody!" she exclaimed as started to give every animal their food. All of a sudden Angel bunny hopped up to Fluttershy and pointed to a cookbook that showed a salad delicacy instead of the regular bowl of salad that Fluttershy serves everyday. Fluttershy's eyes widened when she saw this and sighed in defeat as she took the cookbook and went to her kitchen. After a few minutes of cooking Fluttershy finally made Angel bunny's most favorite item to eat. As she gave it to Angel Fluttershy quickly flew out of her house to the breakfast picnic she and her friends planned at Sweet Apple Acres.
Upon arriving Fluttershy saw that everyone had arrived except for Rarity. As she landed onto the checkered cloth on the ground Fluttershy wondered what new fashion disaster was keeping Rarity late again. Smiling a happy grin Fluttershy greeted everyone as she sat down to wait for Rarity with the others. "Howdy Fluttershy! Rainbow and I almost thought you weren't coming since usually your early. What took you so long?" Apple Jack asked.
"Oh it just took me some extra time then usual to feed the animals. Angel bunny was a tad bit more uncooperative then usual." Fluttershy replied
"You should really start showing Angel who here is the boss Fluttershy! That bunny really has some high demands but you got to make sure he doesn't override you with all his sass." Pinkie Pie stated as she pulled a ton of sweets out of her mini portable picnic basket.
"I still never get how you do that Pinkie. It's just goes against the laws of physics!" Twilight exclaimed while staring at Pinkie.
"I don't really know either! I just do it!" Pinkie giggled.
Finally after 10 minutes of waiting Rarity appeared holding a mysterious box in the air with her magic. All of a sudden Pinkie burst out "Oh! Oh! Oh! What's in there! Let me guess! I love guessing games! Is it a pie? Is it a cake? Is it a dress?"
"As a matter of fact Pinkie is correct there are actually two dresses in here." Rarity calmly stated as she set the box down carefully.
"What's the special event this time?" Rainbow Dash groaned.
"Why, don't you guys read the mail? It's for when Fluttershy and I sign up as new dancing recruits for Sapphire Shores!" Rarity exclaimed
"FLUTTERSHY IS SIGNING UP!?" everypony screamed except for Fluttershy and Rarity
"Well I was actually going to tell you but I guess you know already." Fluttershy whispered while she hid her face behind her mane. As Rarity heard this her eyes widened since she didn't expect Fluttershy to say yes or make her decision so fast.
"After all the times we tries to convince you to something more public Rarity convinces you to do this!?" Rainbow Dash questioned
"Well actually I kind of decided by myself" Fluttershy squeaked as she somehow made herself smaller.
"Guys calm down I'm sure Fluttershy is pretty nervous. We shouldn't pressure her like that." Twilight said as she smiled at Fluttershy
Spike casually spoke up "Wow Fluttershy I never expected you to sign up for a job that provides so much attention where everyone will know you name, take pictures of you, treat you like a celebrity......hmmm it's just like that Photo Finish disaster." Suddenly Spike found everyone glaring at him.
"Spike you shouldn't make her more nervous then she already is!" Twilight retorted in a scolding tone.
"But I didn't say anything! I was just stating the truth." Spike trailed off as Twilight gave him another glare that could rival Fluttershy's famous stare. Thanks to Spike Fluttershy was now rocking back and forth on the ground with her hooves wrapped around herself.
"Calm down sugarcube it's not that bad and we'll be with you no matter what. Right?" Applejack looked at all the others while raising a eyebrow. Twilight, Rainbow, Pinkie, and Rarity all answered brightly and put on comforting smiles as they agreed with Applejack.
Just then Rarity remembered the dresses and interrupted every pony as she said," Come along now darling you must try on your new dress." Rarity dragged Fluttershy behind a screen and everyone winced as they heard strings being drawn tight, zippers being drawn up, and Fluttershy yelping. After a few minutes Rarity finally pushed the screen aside and presented Fluttershy and herself. Strutting about as she fluttered her eyelashes multiple times she asked," Well what do you guys think? I'm quite proud of these dresses myself." Twilight and Pinkie complimented the dresses. But Rainbow Dash and Applejack pretended they didn't hear Rarity and started to eat some of the sweets that Pinkie brought. The rest of the ponies finally realized just how hungry they were and sat down to eat. After they finished Applejack had to leave to do some apple bucking, Twilight had to get back to one of her books, Pinkie had to finish planning one of her parties tonight, and Rainbow had to go to one of her weather team meetings. Seeing that it was just the two of them left, Rarity asked Fluttershy of she wanted to come over to house and make their routine for the audition. Fluttershy agreed to her plan and started to pack up the picnic as she started to think of some moves for her routine.
