Chapter 5 - Aftermath

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

Scootaloo was in shock. What the hell had just happened. She didn't know how to react to the intensity of this situation. She had just kissed Sweetiebelle. That wasn't a problem in her book. The problem was that Sweetiebelle had ran out after. Also she had been acting strange all throughout the lunch. She had been very irritable and seemed distracted. Something must have been going on. She had to get to the bottom of it. She put down bits on the table for the meal and dashed out of the restaurant.

Scootaloo knew Sweetiebelle almost better than she knew herself. There were advantages to tracking down your best friend. As far as she knew Sweetiebelle had three places she hid from people. The clubhouse, Sugarcube Corner, and the edge of the Everfree Forest. She knew the first place to look was the clubhouse. She ran to the old wood shack as fast as she could.

When she arrived there it didn't look like anyone had been there recently. She looked inside and saw nothing. There was no trace of her anywhere around the clubhouse. Scootaloo sighed, of course this wasn't going to be easy. Something big was going on and it must be something bad. Sweetiebelle was one of the most cheerful ponies she knew. If she was acting this strange there was something going on. Next up was Sugarcube Corner. That one seemed more likely as Sweetiebelle was known to eat her troubles as a way of dealing with them. Scootaloo laughed at tough of when they were younger. Sweetiebelle had been yelled at by a teacher and she had run out of the class. By the time Scootaloo had found her she had eaten half of Sugarcube Corner's inventory. Scootaloo shook her head quickly. She had to focus on finding her friend. She ran out of the clubhouse and sprinted down the road to Sugarcube Corner as quick as she could.

She was well out of breath by the time she saw the dessert shop in sight. She silently cursed her stupid wings for not flying right. Scootaloo was panting as she walked up to the door and pushed her way inside.

The place was deserted. Lyra and BonBon were the only customers in sight. At the counter Mr. and Ms. Cake were trying to stay awake at the counter. Only two things were for sure. One, it was going to be a slow business day. Two, there was no Sweetiebelle. Scootaloo sighed and slumped on the ground.. This is hopeless she thought.. I'll never find her. As she was about to give up she thought of all the times Sweetiebelle had come through for her. She couldn't give up. She pulled herself off the ground, stomped a hoof, and ran towards the edge of the Everfree forest.

Running sucks she thought. Although I have no choice if I want to find her! She ran as fast as she could, not even stopping for a breath. As she neared the Everfree Forest the sky began to turn pink as night neared. Scootaloo began to lose hope. How much longer could she keep this up? Finally Scootaloo found herself at her destination. The Everfree Forest. She knew that past the first few trees was a clearing. That clearing was the place that Sweetiebelle went when she was sad. Scootaloo was scared of what may have been going on. She took a deep breath and pushed through the trees and into the clearing.

Author's Note

This is filler to set up for a large scale tragedy that ends in some romance. (Ooh this ought be good)
