Becoming A Princess's Guard
"Flash Sentry! Please report to the Throne Room immediately!"yelled Shining Armor from the overhead speakers.
Flash Sentry was still in bed during that time and hearing his boss's voice was totally a good wake call. He climbed out of bed and brushed his mane and got his armor on. He keep thinking about what Shining would want with him at this hour. He fixed his bed and left his room.
"What did I do." He muttered as he walked down the hallway to the throne room.
When he approached the throne room doors he knocked on them first, then getting permission to get inside. He saw Shining Armor beside the throne.
"Ah Flash Sentry, one of my most trusted guard, good to see you."
"Good Morning sir. May I ask sir, what did I do wrong? If you think I broke into the pantry last night I didn't because that was actually Gobblehoof's fault."
"No, you didn't do anything wrong, you've been just assigned to be a Princess's personal guard. And Gobblehoof was the one who took my pudding?"
"And what princess is that?"
"My Sister Twily. I'm sure you two met already before."
"Oh yeah... Twilight"said Flash blushing a bit from remembering Princess Twilight.
"So we have planned you to be Twilight's Personal Guard, since she's mostly alone in her castle only with Spike, and she has no one to guard her or the castle."
"Wait... What do you mean we?"
"Oh nothing... just get to the train she'll be waiting at the train station in Ponyville for you."
"Alright Sir."
"Oh and Flash."
"Yes Sir?"
"If you hurt my sister or if somepony else did- I will look for you and I will find you and I'll have you executed."
"I'll make sure that won't happen s-sir."stammered Flash as he left the room.
"Whew... Can you please leave now, I did what you and my wife told me to do."
"Well Shiny, I'm glad I can help you sister be happy."
"Don't call me Shiny... I see you've changed. Was it because you love Fluttershy?"
"Of course it was! And will you excuse me I actually have to work on something soon, so bye bye."
*Ponyville Train Station*
"Oh Spike. I'm so excited to have my very own personal guard!"
"Is it because you have a crush on him?"
"What! I do not have crush on him."
"Oh sure, then why were you blushing around him all the time."
"And what about your crush on Rarity? And I was not blushing It was just... very hot that day!"
"Touché. And sure it was, hey wait- is that him over there?"
"Where! Where!"
"Ha-ha! Fooled ya. But seriously see what I mean you do have a crush on the guy."
"Alright fine I like the guy."
"A little louder please."
"I said I like-"
CHOO-CHOO SHREEESH
The Crystal Empire train came in with a loud screech as it stopped at a halt. Flash Sentry stepped out of the train and got met with Twilight just staring at him blushing. Soon he just stared at her blushing.
"Wake up! You two!"
The sudden voice from Spike brought the two back to reality.
"O-oh forgive me your H-Highness for my rudeness."said Flash bowing down,
"At ease Flash Sentry your forgiven."
"You know my name?"
"Of course I do- Princess Cadence told me, but you just call me Twilight."
"Alright Twilight... May I escort you to your castle?"
During the whole walk back to the castle Flash and Twilight talked to each other for the first time actually. Flash made jokes which Twilight laughed at and told Twilight news happening in the Crystal Empire.
"So let me get this straight- somepony took my brothers pudding at night? Oh he's going to regret that."
"And why is that?"
"Shining Armor loves his pudding, he doesn't let anypony touch it, if they do he punishes them.
*Meanwhile*
"Why did you eat my pudding Gobblehoof!?"
"Because sharing is caring and it's delicious."
"7 days in the dungeon for you."
"But it was just pudding!"
"It was my pudding."
*Back to our couple*
"So here we are Castle Sweet Castle."
"So... Where's my post I'll be needing a place to guard."
"You can guard anywhere, but you can guard outside my bedroom door for tonight."
"Oh ok, this is a really big castle, which door is yours?"
"My room is just down the hall."
That night Flash stayed up all night guarding Twilight's door. Until around midnight he heard a window be smashed, he left post checked where the window was smashed. Somepony had broken into castle!
Sweet Celesta! On my first night of guarding Twilight's castle and somepony breaks in .
A thought came to mind when Flash remembered this was Twilight's castle- if I catch the burglar, Twilight may fall in love with me or be even impressed.
Flash finished planning out and he went to find the burglar. He first checked the treasure room and sure enough the burglar was there.
"Freeze Dirtbag!"
The robber froze from the sudden voice behind him.
"Your under arrest for breaking into a castle and trying to steal treasure."
"You have to catch me first."
The thief threw a vase at Flash and ran for it.
"Assault on a guard is a felony too."
The chase ran on for the rest of the night. And it ended in the morning. And Twilight awoke from her slumber and went to say good morning to Flash.
"Good morning Flash anything interesting happen last night... Really what happened!"
"Oh good morning Princess, may I ask do you have a dungeon?"
Flash had the thief tied up in the corner and returned the valuables to the treasure room.
"Oh... Just some guard work."

"I was just guarding last night and I heard somepony break in, I went to take a look and I find this guy in the treasure room!"
Twilight recognized the guy's face from posters she's been seeing all around Ponyville.
"Oh my gosh! That's guy's name is Gold Loot! The first 'not overwhelming criminal' Ponyville ever had! He's been robbing stores since last week and seems like last night he tried to score bigger by stealing my treasure- likely he didn't know I got a handsome new guard."
"And I wouldn't of gotten away with too- if it weren't for your meddling guard!"
"Just send him over to Ponyville's new jail that's called Reform Jail ."
"Alright Twilight."
Twilight turned around and went straight toward the door, right before she left she said.
"Oh and Flash."
"Yes?"
"Thank you." Said Twilight as she ran up to gave Flash a hug.
"Your w-welcome." Flash said blushing slightly.
"I'm just going out to see my friends, Bye."
"Bye..."
Silence took in hold for a few minutes as Flash trying to comprehend what had happened.
"She hugged me... She hugged me!"
"Good for you lover boy, I dont care- send me jail already." Said Gold Loot with a annoyed tone.
Twilight went to the café to meet up with her friends to catch up on things.
"Twilight! We heard the news, are you Ok?" Said Fluttershy.
"I'm fine... Because of him." Twilight sighed dreamily.
"Who's him?" Said Fluttershy with a confused tone.
"Flash..."
"Your crush from the Crystal Empire! Tell us more."begged Rarity.
"Oh he's my new personal guard."
"Since when did you get a personal guard?"
"Just yesterday and he's still as handsome as ever."
"It's so cute that you found a special somepony."
"Oh I wish he was."
"Why don't we make him your coltfriend."
"I don't want to force him to love me."
"It's not actually forcing them if you already know they love you." Said Rarity.
"Wait... he likes me?"
The Mane 6 excluding Twilight started laughing, with Twilight not knowing why.
"Why are you girls laughing?"
"You don't know he likes you- it's painfully obvious! Did you see him glance at you before he left on the train when Princess Cadence came."
"Well yeah... But does that mean anything?"
"Of course it does darling!
"So, he likes me and I like him, I want him to tell me he likes me,"
"Then we'll help you find out."
"And how are you going to that?"
"We can set up a date for you guys."
"Isn't the stallon suppose to set up the date?"
"Fine, then we'll make him set that the date without him knowing you know already."
"And how are going to make him do that?"
"Just leave it to us darling." Replied Rarity.
Flash returned to the castle after dropping off Gold Loot at Reform Jail.
"I still can't believe Twilight hugged me... I should do something for her!" Flash said to himself.
"Mail Call!"
The mail just arrived for Twilight's castle and was delivered by Muffins the mailmare.
"Ah, the mail let's see here; Bill, Bill, restraining order, Letter for me, Bill, invitation for Party... Wait mail for me? That's strange I just got assigned to this castle yesterday.
Flash opened the letter and read it out aloud.
Dear, Flash Sentry
Since tomorrow is Hearts and Hooves day... I recommend you take Princess Twilight Sparkle out on a date and bring her a book as a gift.
And you will find out if she likes you or not, but we already know the answer... Well what are you waiting for get going!

"Flash! I'm back!"yelled Twilight as she came in.
Oh Twilight's back...it's the perfect chance to follow the random advice from the letter and ask her on a date!
"I'm in the throne room Twilight! I have something to ask you about."
Perfect all according to plan. said Twilight in her mind.
"What did you want to ask me about Flash?"said Twilight trying to hide her excitement.
"I-I-I uhhhhh... I mean w-would you like to go out on a date with me tomorrow? Since its Hearts and Hooves Day."
"I would love to! Since I'm not busy I can." Replied Twilight holding her excitement back.
"You will! Oh thank thank Princess...oh I mean T-Twilight." Said Flash blushing a bit from his overreaction.
"Well this is awkward a bit so goodnight Flash." Said Twilight sheepishly.
"Good Night Twilight... oh and Princess, we'll have the date at 12:30 tomorrow."
"Alright Flash and pray that there's not gonna be another robber tonight."
Twilight left to her room and left a totally stunned Flash behind.
"She said yes she said YES! Oh thank you random letter of mine, this is a dream come true!"
Flash was to excited for tomarrow he literally went running out of the castle screaming his lungs out saying- she said yes!"waking ponies up in the process.
Twilight on the other hoove was being the same thing but a little more calm and collected by hugging her pillow, even though it was her and her friends plan, it was still nice that it worked. But she didn't notice that there was two ponies outside.
"You know Dissy, I think we are a good team being matchmakers, don't you think?"
"Yeah I think so too Cadence, same time next year."
"Of course! We can bring Pinkie Pie and Cheese Sandwich together next time."
"No pony else can keep up with her except him."

Flash woke up early in the morning and he went out to get the stuff, he needed for the date in the afternoon, Flash first went to the brand new bookstore, since the old one got blown up,
*Ring*
"Oh hello there Flash Sentry, I've been expecting you." Said the Librarian from her desk.
"How do you know my name and know I was coming?" Asked Flash.
"Oh, but of course, my name is Book Worm. I was told you coming to get some books."
"Who told you I was coming?"
"Some Anonymous Ponies, but they told me to give you these books.
Book Worm handed over to Flash two books- "The Order" and "The Guard and The Princess ". They were both about a Princess and Royal Guard just like him and Twilight. Flash took the books from Book Worm and looked at her suspiciously.
"And how much are the books?"
"They are already paid for, have a good day." Replied Book Worm happily.
Flash left the bookstore with questions swirling in his mind; Who are these Anonymous Ponies?
"All right, next stop the Flower Shop." Said Flash to himself "I bet the flower girls will know I'm coming probably."
When the Flash got to the flower shop, he was met by Rose.
"Ah Flash Sentry, the new guard, I've been waiting for your arrival." Rose said.
"Yeah, yeah I've heard, you have flowers already chosen for me right?"
"As a matter of fact I do. They're picked and paid." Rose said as she handed over to Flash dethorned Roses in a boutique.
"Was it picked by Anonymous Ponies right?"
"Yeah, have a good day."
"Can you please you tell me who are the Anonymous Ponies?"
"Nope, but I'll just give you a hint." She paused "They saved Equestria six times."
"That's a great hint, goodbye." Flash said sarcastically, rolling his eyes.
Flash left to the bookstore and went to The HayBurger, since he heard it was Twilight's favorite place.
I wonder if I'm already signed in. Flash said in his mind as he entered The HayBurger.
When Flash went inside, he was met by Pinkie Pie.
"Oh, hiya Flash! What brings you here? Pinkie said already knowing why.
"I'm here to book a table for a date, I have a date later today with Princess Twilight, am I for say already signed in yet?"
"Nope! Lucky for you we have just a table left."
"Ah, good, thank you, we'll be coming at 12:30 sharp. Bye."
"Bye Flash!"
Once Flash left, Pinkie pulled out a walkie talkie from her mane and she whispered into it.
"Calling to Apple Pony over Phase 3 is a absolute success over."
"Ya know, Pinkie, you can just say Phase 3 is a success and not go all top secret spy on us."
"I know! But it's way more fun that way."
"All right, now I have almost everything, all I need is a suit."
Flash went to Carousel Boutique and got met with Rarity right away who just immediately just gave him a blue suit as he walked in.
"Er um ... Miss Rarity is it? Why did you just give this suit all of a sudden?"
"Well, you have to look stunning for your date with Twilight, darling."
"You know I'm going on a date with Twilight? Who told you that?"
"Actually the whole town knows, due to your little ... ahem outburst last night."
"Oh...yeah...that...". Flash said, his voice barely audible.
"So... Anyway, I was expecting you'd come, so I made suit, just made it this morning matter of a fact."
"Thank you, goodbye."
"So long Flash, have a wonderful date."
Meanwhile, in the new castle, Princess Twilight was pacing her room.
"...Twilight?" Spike asked, walking inside.
"Yes?!" Twilight replied, rather loudly.
"Are you... Ok? You look kinda panicked..."
"Panicked?! No, no way, I'm not! I'm not panicked or worried or stressed or-"
"Nervous?"
"Yea-no! I'm not at all nerrrr...." Twilight a voice faded as she stopped her pacing.
"Twi, listen to me." Spike said soothingly, "I'd think it's normal for you to be nervous."
"R-really?" The alicorn asked, sitting down.
"Yep. I'm nervous around Rarity sometimes- even though I've known her over a year! In fact, sometimes I just want to be with her so badly, I'm too nervous to ask her out. It's just one of those things that we don't understand."
"W-wow Spike... I never thought about it that way. Thank you so much..." Twilight stands up, "and that's why you're my number one assistant!"
"Aww, you don't mean it."
"Yes I do! Now, where is my dress?"
As Twilight got ready, a very confused and excited Flash Sentry trotted his way to the Friendship Castle.
Knocking on her door, he prepared himself. "It's ok... Ask her out... Don't be shy... Don't be nervous!" His mind told him.
"I hear a knock, Twi, and I think it's for you." Spike smiled.
Blushing, Twilight went to answer it. "Don't be nervous... Or shy... Or worried... Don't panic! Don't-" her thoughts were cut off by seeing the guard. As he stood in his handsome blue suit, holding flowers for her, and of course books, Twilight had become speechless. So had Flash.
He couldn't help but stare at the beautiful mare in front of him. She looked so gorgeous in her dress... Her bright purple eyes lit up, and her blush made her even cuter. Suddenly, he realized he was staring.
