A Peaceful Vinyl.
Starting school.
Previous ChapterStudents walked outside chatting away with common topics like about last night’s concert or a hot boy or what the hell was the answers for Mr. Hooves take home science test. Some speculated that he was like Twilight Sparkle and that he was from a different universe. But that science mumbo-jumbo doesn’t matter right now. In this moment, not in general. Still does? Leave, bye.
What matters at the moment was the new kid walking onto the campus casually. No one really paid attention to him, some giving him a glance, some staring at him. Wasn't the best looking dude, but not ugly. His long dirty blonde hair hung lazily down by his shoulders, covering part of his beaten black vest and a visible scar on the side of his cheek. A matching pair of black pants. Under his breath he cursed the fact that he was in them on such a hot day.
Going into the vibrantly colored and A/C cooled building he looked around scanning the crowd. It was a mix between an obnoxious city and a village where ponies stuck their noses in others business. What a perfect mix!
Leaning on a wall he waited while still scanning the crowd. A few students walked by and welcomed him, and he thanked them before they went back to doing whatever they were doing. High school, oh by Celestia’s beard, fuck school.
A gentle tapping on his shoulder caught his attention as he turned around to face a young woman with a small smile on her face. She was a yellowish skinned, with red hair and a yellow stripe. It was like shimmering sunset. A black leather jacket covered an orange shirt with a matching skirt. "Hello, I'm Sunset Shimmer." She said while extending her hand.
"Peace walker." Peace said. "You're the one Twilight told me about. The she-demon turned good right?"
"Yeah." She replied a little disappointed.
"That would be a sight to see. Could... I see it?" Peace asked, unsure if the subject is touchy or not.
"What?" Sunset deadpanned.
"Can you turn into a demon at will?" Peace asked.
"I don't think so." She said trying to read his face.
"Damn, oh well." There was a small awkward pause. "So, are you the-"
"Hey, Sunny!" A new voice said. A guy walked by Sunset. It was like he was from the black and white era of movies with his black shirt, pants, and gloves. A whiter sweater, belt, and hair went against the black. Though, what stuck out most of all where his brilliant blue eyes that was easy to get lost into, contrasting the whole look of the black and white.
"Hey random pon- err... Person. I'm Peace Walker." He said extending his hand.
"I'm Soul Writer, or just Soul." Soul said shaking Peace’s hand. “You’re that guard Sunset told me about, write?”
“Yep, I am.” He said.
“How was being a guard?”
“Well… Different. A lot of things change. One day it’s all relaxed then the next a damn god is trying to take over the world, again. Or you’re being attacked by a tentacles.” Peace shuddered at that memory. “Then the next you’re stuck dealing with stuck up snobs wishing you could put them on minimum wage pay and kick them out the castle. Then a Princess takes there anger out on you because of so many things, then they apologize. Then some other crap happens. I also used to be a musician when I worked under Princess Luna.”
“Wait, music?” They both asked.
“Sunny is the frontwoman of a band. Better than Dash.” Soul said.
“You mean it?”
“Of course. She’s good, but you’re better.” She leaned into her boyfriend. They have a strong relationship at the moment no doubt. “What kind of music did you play?”
“Rock, Metal, symphonic metal opera.” Peace said proudly. “Heh, I miss being able to talk to Luna while writing music. Twilight had me on my hooves all day most of the time, and sometimes through the night.”
“That’s cool.” Soul said. “So, ready for the tour?”
“Wait, how did you know that I was new?” Peace asked.
“Well, Sunset said that you arrived two days ago and wondered what happened to you.” Soul said. “And I was new at one point too.”
“Yeah… I took a little time to figure out this bipedal shit.”
“Wow, for a pony, you got quite a mouth.” Sunset said.
“Bad habit, I know. But hey,” Peace started to dig through his backpack before pulling out a small switch, “My profanity switch says off.” Flipping the switch, it activated. “Pinkie present. It works too.”
“How exac… Nevermind, it’s Pinkie Pie.” Sunset started. “So, ready for the tour?”
“Yeah, I am.” Peace said. Following the two down the hallway they gave small explanations about the class and teachers. Before long the group was near the gym when the sound of rock started filling the air. “The music doesn’t sound half bad. What band is this?
“It’s ‘The Rainbooms’, they’re the band I play for.” Sunset replied. “Wanna meet them?”
“No Doubt.” Peace said smiling. Soul, being the nice guy he is opened the door for the two.
“Watch out Peace!” A bubbly voice said as a stream of air and a rainbow of confetti attacked him. The confetti covered his face completely, and the air pushed his hair to look like a blonde hedgehog. “Whoops, sorry.”
Shaking his head the confetti fell around him and his hair went back to normal. “It’s nothing Pinks.”
“Wait, you two know each other?” Rainbow asked.
“Not in this dimension. In the dimension that Twilight is from! We we’re like, the best of friends! He’s even using the profanity switch I gave him!” Pinkie said.
“Wait… What in tarnation is a profanity switch?” Applejack asked. “And how do ya know this Pinkie? Are ya a spy?”
“Hey that’s MY line!”
“Pinkie is an all knowing being sent to save everyone, that’s my theory anyway. As for the profanity switch, it prevents me from directly saying a swear word.” Peace replied.
“My my, you must swear every other word then.” Rarity said.
“Nope.” Switching it off Peace continued. “I can prevent myself from swearing without it, the only time it gets out of control is when I’m stressed. Like the past two days has been. Though I can see why you would assume that. She made me it because she met me at a part of life where it was just stressful and sucky.”
“Oh.” The group said in sync.
“Well, I’m Peace Walker.” They all responded back and said there name, despite knowing he already knew them, even Fluttershy replied. It confused him, Flutters was never able to say much to him without stuttering. “Music sounds good by the way.”
“Heh, thanks.” Rainbow said. “Hey, Sunset, can ya bring a new guitar cable later?”
“Sure.” She replied.
“Hold on.” Peace dug into his backpack for a second before pulling out said item. “I want it back, it’s the only one I have on me.”
“Do you just randomly carry that around?” Rainbow asked, only for Peace to pull out an electric guitar in response. “Wait how is that even possible?”
“Magic.” Peace smirked. “My saddlebag is like a room.”
“It’s a backpack.”
“Same difference. Either way, I have a lot of crap in here, like a mini fridge, and a bed, and some music stuff.” Closing his backpack, peace slug it over his shoulder. And none of the stuff will fall out. Boy, magic is useful. Either way, peace.” Turning around he left the room, before coming back. “Can someone tell me where music theory is again?”
