Freaky Brother Day
Prologue: The Fight
Load Full Story"No way Applejack, Shining Armor is the best BBBFF in all of Equestria! He taught me everything I know about being a good citizen!" Twilight Sparkle, Princess of Friendship, shot back to her farmer friend.
"Nuh-uh. Big Mac 'ere taught me ever'thing I know. He even taught me my heardin' skills." Applejack shot back to her best friend. The two mares faces drew close together so they could look each other in the eyes. Big McIntosh was watching his sister and her friend duke it out while he was trying to bring a cart of apples back to the barn. He sighed after his last attempt to get the attention of the two mares failed. "I can prove it t' ya. Big Mac 'ere has the trophy fer heardin' back when he was a colt. He took first place!" Big Mac knew he wasn't getting their attention soon. He remembered how the fight broke out.

It was Apple Bucking season again, and Applejack enlisted the help of her friends again. They had more trees than ever this year, thanks to the Vampire Fruit Bats, and needed all the help they could get. Twilight Sparkle was the only one who stayed behind as the sun was setting to help take the apple cart back to the barn. Applejack had mentioned to her that they didn't need the help, but she couldn't leave before having some of Granny Smiths famous apple pie. Twilight did love that apple pie. As the two were walking back, ahead of Big Mac, who was pulling the heavy apple filled cart, the two got to talking about Twilight and how her teaching of Applebloom was coming. Everything was going fine, until Twilight mentioned that Shining Armor was coming over for a visit for a few days.
That is when everything started going south. Twilight started going on how she had the best brother, making time out of his busy schedule in the Crystal Empire to spend time with her. And AJ couldn't let that go. The two young mares started arguing and eventually stopped walking to argue more.

And that is where Big Mac was at a loss. He tried again to get their attention. "Uh...AJ?" Big Mac spoke, his voice a silky deep tone.
"WHAT?" The two mares said in unison, looking at the big red pony. It made Big Mac jump back a little bit, spilling a few apples. It wasn't long before the death stares subsided. "Oh, uh, yes big brother?" Applejack rubbed the back of her head.
"It's almost dark." He said. The two mares looked to the sky. They had been fighting for a good 20 minutes and the sun was low on the horizon. The two mares shot each other a glance before beginning to walk back to the farm house. The tension, thankfully, subsided when Twilight Sparkle caught the glimpse of blue mane in a window. Twilight took off back to the farm house while Applejack and Big Mac unloaded the cart.

"Well, Prince Shining Armor, I am glad you liked it." Granny Smith smiled as a certain purple alicorn ran into the room.
"Shining Armor!" Twilight Sparkle ran in and hugged her brother.
"Twily!" Shining Armor hugged his sister. "I couldn't wait until you got home. Spike told me you were here, so I thought I would pick you up and walk back to your castle."
"And this is why you are the best BBBFF!" Twilight said as Applejack and Big Mac walked into the room.
"Alright, that does it. Ah am sick an' tired of ya saying that yer brother is better than mine." Applejack said, and before too long, the two mares were arguing again.
"Um....Twiliy?" Shining Armor tried to get the attention, but Big Mac only shook his head.
"They been at it already fer 20 minutes." Big Mac said.
"Really?" Shining Armor looked over to the red pony.
"Eeyup." Big Mac said with a sigh. He didn't understand why it was such a big deal. He knew of Shining Armor, the news of his marriage to Princess Cadance was known throughout Equestria after the fact. But he only knew little about him from what Twilight was arguing with Applejack about. "I jus' don't get it." He sighed and got ready to leave when Granny Smith looked over.
"Neither do I." Granny Smith chimed in. "Alright you two! KNOCK IT OFF!" Twilight and Applejack knew to be quiet when Granny Smith spoke. "Now you two whippersnappers have been fightin' long enough. If you both t'ink yer brother is better, you should switch fer a day." Big Mac instantly regretted not leaving faster.
"That's a great idea. Then Applejack will finally learn why Shining Armor is so much better." Twilight said, with that look in her eye. One she knew would entice Applejack to comply.
"This will finally prove t' ya that Big Mac is better." Applejack smiled.
"Um....can't we talk about this?" Shining Armor asked before he nearly jumped out of the couch.
"NO!"
