What A Lovely Day

"Shit," whispered Dash as a torrent of gun fire whipped through the air all around her car. Sparks flew off her windshield and her engine roared like thunder as she hit the accelerator.

"You can't escape from us you little bugger! That fuel is ours!" cried out the thirsty minatour gang from behind. A humongous truck with two Gatling guns placed atop was only a few meters away as it rained bullets down onto Dash's relatively puny vehicle. A minatour poked out from the passenger seat with a level 0 semiautomatic and started shooting aimlessly. Dash could see his wide grin and insane eyes deprived of sleep through her rear-view mirror. Dash couldn't tell if they were laughing, screaming with rage, or if they weren't saying anything at all and it was something wrong with the engines.

Was anything sane in this world anymore?

She could only watch helplessly as the gas gauge balanced between empty and barely anything.

Dash bit her hoof and whistled to the back. "Alright Tank, wakey wakey! Mama's in a real bind here!" She looked in the back seat only to see Tank snoozing inside his shell. An elaborate tortoise operated machine gun was bound to the left side of his shell. You needed all the help you could get around these parts.

"C'mon, are you serious!" In desperation, Dash grabbed a desert eagle from the glove compartment. She briefly glance back then focused on the road before shooting aimlessly in their general direction all whilst shouting at Tank to wake up. Even through all the chaos, Tank's snores were audible.

As the bullet barrage rampaged, through sheer luck, one of Dash's aimless bullets struck the Gatling gun minatour's side, causing him to fall over. Dash heard a faint thud from behind and looked to see her handy work before quickly ducking back into her car.

"Woo! Now that's what I call-" Immediately, Dash noticed the sound of tire running over sand, or lack thereof. Dash came to a startling realization.

She had run out of road and was now currently in the air.

How she could not see the cliff, or lost track of where she was, she did not know. Neural tissue disoriented, Dash fell helplessly. Her scarlet scarf floating around her neck in 0 g. For an instance, all was calm.

Her stomach flipped upside down as adrenaline kicked in, grabbing onto the wheel for dear life.

Her guts took a toll as she landed onto the ground with a sudden thud and the kinetic energy left over bounced her car up a few feet. The ground she had landed on made an odd sound, like an xylophone note. Dash looked above to see the truck coming in right above her head along with helpless minatours scattered about. Quickly, she reacted stomping on the pedal just in time.

As she left the scene, an explosion erupted from the truck, flinging shrapnel in all directions. She looked into the back mirror only to have it shatter as a minatour horn pierced through.

   This gave Dash a chuckle.

But from the smoke smaller cars emerged surviving the fall and continuing pursuit all whilst screaming unintelligibly. Spikes with pony skulls stuck onto the ends covered the vehicles. Dash counted 6 of them operated by 1 or 3 minatours each.

She glanced back to the road in front of her where only more confusion over her environment ensued. The road was completely white and if she glanced to the left, she could see that the road was elevated above the ground. Dash couldn't wrap her head over exactly where she was.

It was very easy to dismiss these strange facts, for the minatours shooting from behind proved to be a more persistent target of interest. Dash shuffled through the glove compartment a little more to retrieve a blue gem with a lightning bolt symbol scratched onto it. She dropped it carefully over the side of the car as she sped.

When the gem dropped to the ground and broke, a band of white electricity surged from the gem, creating a blockade of electricity from one side of the road to the next. This disoriented some of the drivers causing them to speed off in different directions. One continuously drove to the edge of the road until he fell off. Dash did not hear the car crash onto the ground until after a few seconds. Another drove out of control and tumbled, destroying itself in the process. Others managed to recover. The minatours screamed in anguish over their fallen companion.

Two might have been eliminated, however Dash's troubles were only getting started.

Dash looked out to the side of the road She could see hooks with ropes attached being thrown up making a crunching sound as it dug into the road. Just before she passed them, she saw what was climbing up.

   Dash groaned. Griffons.

More and more hooks began to be thrown up all around her as an uncountable number of griffons started to litter the road behind her, shooting with pale orange devices. Level 1 magical arsenal if Dash had to guess. One of the bullets hit the back of Dash's seat through the window. Dash examined it to find it had a bone like structure and was clearly chipped off something larger.

Dash's attention was yet again diverted as something in the far distance caught her eye. Dash didn't know what it was, all she knew was that the vehicle was big and that it covered the entire road. But most importantly, that there was no way of escaping it.

Dash could hear the minatours and the griffons exchange bullets behind her. She quickly glanced back and saw one car was driving through the chaos unimpeded. The minatour who drove the vehicle looked absolutely insane. He had a muzzle on, piercings to cover his every face hole, and black rods sticking out of his shoulders with what seemed to be the skulls of pony infants on the ends. He looked like pure insanity. Dash was almost genuinely terrified.

Dash looked at the front and got a better look at whatever thing laid ahead of her. She could make out a heart, something coming out the top, a weird circle in the middle, and it made a loud recognizable sound. Dash's eyes widened.

   "Holy shit...It's the friendship express."

As if to confirm, the train let out a whistle.

Dash stopped asking the question "how" a long time ago.

So Dash was in a bit of a predicament. Griffons started swarming in from the sides, all whilst shooting at Dash, a murderous minatour gang was following up from behind lead by a pretty scary dude, the friendship express was about to run her over, all while taking place on an elevated road that is at least high enough to fall to one's most certain death.

And, the vehicle was out of fuel.

What a day. What a lovely, lovely day.
