Vinyl took her shades off and rubbed her tired eyes. For the past two hours, she’s been editing her music, to make sure that it didn't sound sloppy or unorganized. She found it funny. Octavia always commented that all her music took to create was to push a couple buttons and turn some dials. But it was deeper than that. Not only did she have to constantly find a new beat to every one of her songs, she had to find a new sound, a sound that hasn't been discovered before, somehow turn that sound and new beat into a rhythmic song, edit it to make it sound smooth and organized, and finally finalized. But that was simply a summary of the entire process her music took to create.
As Vinyl began to retire from her work, she heard the lock to the door unlock. She checked the clock.
7:00 PM
Octavia was home. Vinyl smiled and got up from her seat. She went towards the door to greet her lover. However, when she finally got to the door, the door swung open, only inches close to hitting Vinyl’s muzzle. Behind her shades, Vinyl’s eyes went wide. Vinyl became worried, was Octavia finally getting annoyed with her silence? Vinyl prayed that it wasn't so. Vinyl answered with a nervous shrug.
“Mmhm. Vinyl, I have no idea how I've been able to stay with you as long as I did given the fact that you hardly speak, but it’s starting to make me think. Do you truly love me?”

The sound of the shower turning on could be heard. She knew Octavia took short, warm showers. So she knew she didn't have much time to come up with something. It had to be genuine. It had to be something from the heart. But what else could she use? She couldn't speak, it would take too long to make a song for her, she couldn't cook her a meal, so what?
