Davenport includes a section on beds in his shop.
That ought to show them.
This angers another shopkeep (Dressers and Book Ends). He demands Davenport to properly brand his store as agreed by him and the others. He's still accuses Davenport of plagiarizing his store.
A mare store owner (record and jewelry store, Swings and Blings) comes in after hearing word of Davenport's new sale. She needed a new bed anyway.
An older manager (Statues and Hearing Aids) comes by to see what the hubbub is about.
The final leader of the 5 Points of store owners (sex shop and martial arts store, Flirts and Hurts) comes in with breaking news. There's a new store in town.
"Well what does he sell?"
"Things."
...
"J-just... things?"
"Yeah. Things and Stuff. That's his gimmick."
Everyone laughs. They go to see the new store to humor the new guy.
Things and Things as it turns out is the Ponyville branch of the WalMart of Equestria. Anything you want, they have it. The director over in Manehattan wanted to cash in on the Ponyville tourism.
"We have tourism? I didn't know that."
The 5 Points are confused and don't want to admit they're impressed. They hate super nice New Guy and call him a huge asshole.
They leave all grumbling back to their stores.
They don't know that Davenport bought something he needed from Things and Things. It may come in handy should something happen in the 5 Points.
