Tattered Map and the Teleporting Closet
Silence...
That's what you tend to get when you come back to the town your staying in when it's almost midnight. I've never seen a town like this before, silent in every way.
Whatever, it doesn't matter. I just need to go to the bar for a drink. It's where I go every time I fail my adventure or exploration. I just failed my tenth one. in a row. I've only gone on ten.
I should introduce myself, I'm Tattered Map, worst adventurer in Equestrian history. For description purposes I'll describe myself, I am a unicorn with a light pink coat and a mane of the deepest red. As the name suggest, my cutie mark is a tattered map.
The bar seemed... Louder, than usual. Usually there's just a small murmur but it sounded like a few ponies were yelling. Probably just a drunk argument, those actually happen a lot.
As I entered I saw the ponies that were yelling was a Pegasus and an earth pony, the Pegasus was grey, with a black mane and the earth pony was yellow, with a blue mane. I decided to leave them be and sat on an abandoned stool.
"What'll it be?" Said the bartender. "Just the usual." I replied. What I expected was for him to fill it up and slide it over to me, what happened was that he slid it over and the Pegasus from before quickly sat next to me and caught the mug.
"Hey!" I shouted. "What? You snooze you lose buddy." He said with a lazy glance in my direction."You look like you've been on a trip to hell, you fail to stab yourself or something?""Nah, just keep failing to bring back anything from every adventure I've ever been on." He regarded me solemnly, and after seeming to think for a while he passed me the mug and said "you want an adventure? I'll show you an invention that will take you anywhere."
I stared at him, but he just kept a blank look on his face. After a while I decided I could trust him for now. "Alright, tell me what this wonderland of yours is."
