Moving Furniture
It was yet another normal day for Spike as he navigated his way through the streets of Ponyville with a knapsack on his back and a scroll clutched tightly between his claws, a smile etched on his face. Twilight had sent him into town today to complete a numerous amount of errands, and he was more than happy to find a way to get out of the castle for more than five minutes. At first, Spike had questioned why she couldn't run these errands herself, but he was quickly reminded that she had a meeting with both Princess Celestia and Princess Luna to discuss the events concerning Starlight Glimmer. Spike wasn't there to witness what had happened since he was still in Ponyville at the time, trading hoofball cards and such with Big Macintosh. The baby dragon's smile briefly faded for a moment. He never did get to snag that rare card for his collection.
Oh well, he thought dismissively. It's not like I won't try to get it next time.
Spike stopped walking for a moment to take a look at the scroll and review the list. So far, he had nearly the entire agenda completed, but all that was left to do now was to retrieve a few things from Sugarcube Corner, and then invite a 'Silver Chord' to the castle for a party to welcome him to Ponyville. He scratched his head for a moment and wondered who this pony was before he finally remembered what Rarity had told him a couple of weeks beforehand. Silver Chord was a Pegasus who happened to be a master of string instruments, and he had purchased a house here in Ponyville three weeks ago. He was still in the process of moving his belongings from Manehatten into the new location, so it was no wonder why neither Spike nor Pinkie Pie had seen him wandering around town. What really confused Spike though was the fact that he had never even heard of this guy once, and he was supposed to be a master of string instruments, so how come he wasn't famous like Sapphire Shores? The dragon merely shrugged before rolling up the scroll and slipping it into one of the straps of his knapsack. Perhaps Silver Chord had a reason for not being as well-known as many musicians... Maybe he could ask him when he invited him to the party. Spike broke into a jog through the streets, determined to reach his destination in good time.
It wasn't too long before he arrived at his destination: a large two-story house with red shingles. Spike furrowed his brow. The house was big, but it wasn't really big. Sure, it could probably hold up to around eight ponies, but he would've thought that it was going to be a little more... Spacious, or something like that. It looked kind of... Simple. "You'd think that somepony who was a master of strings instruments would get a more regal-looking place, like a palace or something similar to that." Spike made his way to the door and grabbed his scroll, reading it again to confirm the street address. "Is this... Yep, this is it!" Once again, he put the scroll away and prepared to knock on the door. But before he could proceed, he heard a familiar voice from inside.
"Oh... Will that even fit?" The voice was feminine, but held a strong tomboyish tone. Spike's eyes widened when a sudden realization came to him.
"Wait a sec... Is that Rainbow Dash?" He didn't have to long to think when he heard a small chuckle.
"Well, there's only one way to find out, right?" This voice was definetly masculine, but it wasn't one Spike had ever heard of before; perhaps it was Silver Chord.
"Um... Y-yeah." Rainbow stuttered nervously. "... Alright. Let's give it a shot."
Spike was absolutely clueless as to what was going on. What were they doing? What did she mean by ' Will it fit?' The baby dragon was about to make his presence known to the two pegasi and ask what was going on when he heard a strange groan. His claw immediately stopped at the sound.
"Oh, Silver... I-it's so big." It was Silver Chord. Now that he knew who was in there, what were they...
"Geez, Rainbow. It's so freakin' tight over here!" Spike cringed at the words the two exchanged. Were they... No, there was no way that they were actually- "Alright... I'm going to start moving, okay?"
"A-alright." There was another noise; a sort of Bump! Bump! Bump!. It was slow, moving at a steady rhythm. Dear Celestia, they were actually doing it! What was he going to do? What could he do? Spike couldn't simply open the door and walk in on them; that was just wrong in more ways than one. So, what would he do next?
"Oh my... Rainbow..." Spike suddenly heard him yelp. "Gah! Hold up! Hold up!"
"What?" She panted. There was a brief moment of silence, the only noise he heard being the sound of hooves shuffling against the floor. "Wait... M-maybe just move it a little more that way- Aah! Oh yes! Right there!"
Spike was soon curled up into a ball by the door, rocking himself back and forth with a disturbed expression on his face. How in Equestria did he end up in this situation? Why didn't he just head to Sugarcube Corner first and avoid this entirely? He quickly put his claws over his ears in an attempt to drown out the noise. "Makeitstop. Makeitstop. Makeitstop!" Spike could hear the strained groans of Silver Chord, as well as the quiet words of encouragement coming from Rainbow Dash, telling him to keep going. "Oh, why did Twilight have to send me? Why didn't she send Pinkie Pie to deliver the invitation? I could've been back at the castle, reading the last of that adventure novel I'd picked up last week. But instead I'm here, suffering to the sounds of sexual intercourse in progress."
"S-Silver," Rainbow stammered. "I'm almost... Aah! I'm almost there!"
Spike could here Silver Chord panting like a dog, the Bump! Bump! Bump! sound increasing in volume while decreasing in rhythm. "M... Me too!" There was a loud bang and the sound of wings flapping frantically. "Alright, here I go!" The two pegasi howled in unison as they reached their peak, and at that point, Spike had had enough. He screamed at the top of his lungs and covered his ears as he ran away from the house as if his tail was on fire, which earned him so questioning -as well as some very concerned looks- from a few ponies that he passed along his way.
Meanwhile, inside the house, Rainbow Dash sat on the brown sofa, trying desperately to catch her breath. She looked to the Pegasus next to her and smiled. "Well... We did it!"
Silver Chord was slumped over the side of the couch, his silver mane and his snow white coat glistening with a thin layer of sweat. He looked at the cyan pegasus and chuckled. "Yeah... Yeah, we did." Silver dragged himself onto the piece of furniture and sighed in relief as he sank into the cushions. "Still, I can't believe we actually managed to get this couch up here. I mean, I thought I was about to fall backwards and get crushed by the dang thing." He offered his hoof to her, which she bumped with a weak laugh. "Thanks for helping me by the way."
"Pssh! No problem!" She responded. "I would've done it for any pony. But honestly, I thought you had it at first. I mean, you look like you're pretty strong." Silver just shrugged.
"I guess when you have to carry over twenty different string instruments back and forth from place to place, you tend to get some muscle along the way." There was a brief moment of silence before an idea came to Silver Chord. He looked over at Rainbow Dash and grinned. "Hey, what do you say I buy you lunch for helping me out today?"
"Aw, you don't have to..."
"But I insist. After all, it's only fair that I repay you for your kindness." Silver's eyes were hopeful, and smile spread from ear to ear. He was hoping that he could get to know her better, then he could say that he had made his first friend in Ponyville after so many years of being away from home. After only a few seconds of silence, Rainbow giggled.
"Alright, Silver, I'm game." The mare hopped off of the couch and made her way for the stairs, looking back at Silver Chord with a questioning look. "What place do you have in mind?"
Silver shrugged as he made his way to her side. "I heard that there's a restaurant around here that makes some pretty good oat burgers. You know where it is?"
"Yeah, it's actually not too far from here. Lucky you, right?"
Silver laughed. "Looks that way." The two pegasi made their way outside and took to the sky, laughing and conversing along the way.
Spike shuddered as he walked through the castle corridors. He had already walked past the two royal sisters, and they gave him a concerned glance... Well, Celestia had, anyway. Luna had smirked at him, her gaze all too knowing and all too smug. But as he stepped into the main room, Twilight merely gave him a blank stare as he curled up into the fetal position in his seat.
"Spike? What's wrong?" She asked him worriedly. "You look like you've seen a ghost." Spike looked up at her, his expression making it seem like he was almost petrified.
"It was worse then that, Twilight... It was much, much worse."
