Lyra walked into the bedroom of her rather large home levitating a silver tray of food she had prepared. She was sure after a long day of planning her handsome rogue of a lover was hungry; after all, it was hard to plan a take over of an entire government on an empty stomach.

The mint colored unicorn stopped and blinked in awe for a second at just how cheery her thoughts had just sounded there. Was she actually happy this was happening? She supposed happy wasn't the word she was looking for as she resumed her trot through the hallway, making sure the tray didn't knock any portraits out of place on the wall.

As she moved closer to the bedroom, she glanced at the photos that she passed by. So many of them featured her and Trunks and many of their friends; the smiles and emotions so genuine on the faces of the past. She would say it had been awhile since she'd seen everyone so happy, but in all honesty, it really hadnt been that long ago. Only a year or so had passed since most of these had been photographed, and in the grand scheme of things, a single year wasn't very much time at all.

It scared her just how quickly everything had broken down.

She shook these negative thoughts from her head, and put on her best smile before opening the white door into Trunks' and her bedroom.

"Hello, baby." She said teasingly. "Thought you might want a little company. And I brought food too."

Her smile and demeanor faded faster than Rainbow Dash flying across a town block when she saw Trunks. He was staring outside again; his hand to his chin and his eyes narrowed like a sniper ready to take an important shot. She could almost feel the tenseness emanating off of him.

He'd been like this before, but only when something was truly bothering him. She set the silver tray down on the dresser and slowly approached her almost brooding boyfriend.

As she drew nearer, she breathed in to speak, but stopped when Trunks started talking first.

"Lyra.." He said. "Am I a good person?"

She was taken aback by the sudden question of his character, but answered as soon as she composed herself. "Of course you're a good person, Trunks. You look out for everypony and care for them."

"So did Princess Luna...or at least she claims to." The half-saiyan said.

Lyra was suddenly confused. "Where are you going with this?"

"What Scootaloo said made me think..." He started. "We never really did decide what was going to happen after we ousted Luna."

"Yes, but we can always make those decisions when the time comes."

"But that's exactly like what she does. She doesn't think the whole thing through and consider the consequences of her actions; its caused so much turmoil and heartbreak because of it. And by not planning ahead to the end game of our goal, we've basically done the same thing."

Lyra trotted closer. "Well, hey, that just means we can make up for it now and do so--"

"But don't you see?" Trunks exclaimed, turning abruptly and slightly startling Lyra. "If I overlooked something major like that, who's to say I won't overlook some other important detail in the future? "

"Who's to say you will?" The unicorn added. "And even if its not you that takes over after all this, other ponies could make the same mistakes. "

Trunks looked down at the carpet with a pensive look. "Then is this cycle of awful leadership just going to continue?"

"Not if you let it." Lyra told him.

He looked his marefriend dead in her gold colored eyes with a look as if asking her to elaborate.

"Luna doesn't consider the consequences of her actions until after the deed is done." She said, getting up on the bed to be eye level with him. "The fact that you decided to talk to Scootaloo today means that you do consider the results. If you didn't, you would have attempted to overthrow Luna out of the blue, and been defeated. You are being as careful as you can, talking to all the right ponies before you carry out the deed."

The half-saiyan blinked and smiled slightly at these words. He supposed it was true that he was being fairly cautious in setting up this coup. His smile faded when he remembered he still hadnt thought of the end result. Lyra grabbed his cheeks with her hooves and made him look at her.

"Don't start doubting yourself now, babe." She said. "Learn from the mistake, and continue forward. We'll just have to plan this a little more carefully moving forward."

"So you're onboard with it after all, eh?"

"If you believe this is the right thing to do, then so do I."

She embraced him tightly, a gesture that he instantly returned. As they held each other, Lyra figured that happy was not the word she would use for this feeling about their plans; she decided faith was. Faith that this was the right thing for Equestria and its future.

Carrot sat in the middle of the room as the sun began sinking over the horizon. He'd tired himself out trying to walk; and his brain had also been tuckered out from trying to figure out where to walk to. No one was around to signal him to come over to them, and it made him rather uncomfortable.

Speaking of things he missed, he only just realized he didn't have any of his old toys. His rubber hammer and play set were not here. He knew they were out in the big red building, but he also the big red building wasn't here. It was far away...

Not only were his toys missing, but auntie Scootaloo hadn't come to visit him in a couple days. He missed her a lot.

Carrot started to sniffle and tear up as he came to the conclusion he wouldn't be seeing those things again. He was in a strange new home with strange new mommies and a strange new daddy. He missed his old mommy and daddy; he wanted them back now.

His little whimpers soon escalated into cries and tears began running down his red fur from his green eyes. The little light reddish baby horse who had been napping in the corner raised her ears at the sound. She looked curiously over to the red anthro boy who was starting to wail. She knew he was sad, and it was making her sad. She didn't like being sad, but she didn't want him being sad either.

She decided she would try to fix the problem and make them both not sad. Then they would be happy. She knew when her daddy hugged her she always felt happy, so maybe a hug would make him happy too.

She slowly stumbled her way over to him, and without hesitation, wrapped her forelegs around the crying child; pressing her smiling face up to his.

Carrot cried for a second or so more, but stopped slowly as he realized who was embracing him. One of his new mommies had said that this horsey ward his new sissy, and he'd never had a sissy before. He decided he like the idea of a sissy, because she was being nice. He wanted to be nice too, and threw his own arms around her tightly.

The two of them toppled over after a few moments and started to drift into sleep; their problems temporarily handled for now.

Carrot thought, before he drifted into dreamland, that having a sissy might make everything just a little better.
