Unknown Fate

My name is Gabriel, unit name X-1 (X standing for experimental, as that's what the fleet was founded on. That and a few other things...), leader of the aforementioned experimental fleet, though the experimental tech that was the basis for the fleet is now all commonplace, including a drive that acts like a standard spacecraft propulsion in the way that it pushes the spacecraft forward, but it can  break the light barrier, and, usually only with some assistance (such as a grav assist; grav being short for gravity, pretty self evident), can go at over twice the speed of light.

Anyway, I'm going off on a tangent. I'm currently at warp on course for Equestria. (Why do I say it like that? I've been there before. Burned out my hyperdrive about 50,000 km. from the planet, and had to engage an enemy cruiser with an energy field deadly to living organisms.) Why Equestria? Recently, the fleet's been pestered by an experimental enemy Vulture (Their standard space/aerial unit is their own version of the Vulture Droid that the Separatists designed). It has one inch thick armor plating, and a shock absorber underneath that, for preventing kinetic blast waves from disabling, damaging or destroying internal components, quite unusual for a Neutrility unit (that's the name of the force that owned the cruiser I engaged in orbit of Equestria 1.2 thousand years ago, as well). It also has highly advanced blaster cannons, and what looks to be a weapon slung across the front. What do I think it is? It could be one of two things, based on its physical appearance: an electrical arc weapon, or a railgun. It's the second one that worries me. If the trend of advanced tech continues, and it turns out to be a railgun, I fear it may rival our weaponry in power.

That's why I'm here. I planted a tracking program in the cruiser (though, I don't know; with the class this thing is in it may as well be considered a battleship) that carries the experimental Vulture. Before you say anything, it's incredibly self-evident that the droid is experimental due to the fact that this technology hasn't been seen on any other Neutrility vessel.

Anyway, I tracked it back to a base in this sector, particularly, where I'm headed right now. It appears to be on the opposite side of the planet from where I'll be exiting hyperspace, so as long as I block my plasma core's emission signal, I should be safe to enter the local system. Oh, yeah, and something else I forgot to mention about that Vulture. It has a cloaking device, meaning it isn't actually designed, despite its heavily armed and armored nature, for head-on assaults. As far as anyone in the fleet knows, this thing won't even uncloak if it's attacking OR defending. Really, it's amazing we were able to properly identify and locate it.

But, I don't know... we'll just have to wait and see.
