How My Hell Began
The day was finally here. What day is that you might ask? Well I'll tell you. Today is the day that I would be going to my very first convention. The greatest, most exciting and eventful day of the year! COMIC CON!!!
I was so excited that i would get to experience its wonders, that i felt like randomly bursting into song! Actually, that doesn't sound like a bad idea. I inhaled deeply and prepared to sing my favorite parody song (oddly enough) called 'slaughter your world', when I heard a loud banging on the door that made me jump... and scream a little.
"Aaahh!"
"Seriously? Stephen are you almost done? we're gonna be late for gods sakes!" He shouted irritably.
"Eeer, yeah, sorry. I'll be there in a sec." I quickly did another check in the bathroom mirror to see if I had everything i needed. I was happy i was able to get my costume the way i wanted it to look. I had every piece of the suit down to the letter. I was dressed as Sebastion Michelas from the anime 'Black Butler' and if I do say so myself, I look exactly like him.
"Yeah, if you we weren't so damn pudgy!" The voice complained "I mean seriously, would it kill us to go for walks more often?"
I groaned and shook my head in response. As usual I'm getting complained at by the voice in my head. If you're wondering what his name is... it's Richard.
"Like I keep saying Rich, I'm not fat! I'm just big boned. besides, I already said I'll do some exercising after the con. Right now though, I need to see Greg." Looking into the mirror one last time, I quickly checked for anything out of place on my outfit. "Tuxedo jacket with crow tail. Check. Well ironed dress pants. Check. Perfectly polished dress shoes. Check. White gloves..." I quickly slipped on said gloves. "Check."
"Good lord man can you hurry this up please? I'm dying of old age here." Richard laughed
Sighing, I opened the bathroom door and walked into the living room. As expected, my room mate had all of his things ready as well as his costume on. Greg was dressed up as Grell who was also from 'Black Butler'.
"Well Bassy? What do you think?" He asked with a grin. I looked over his costume and even though I was impressed, I couldn't hold back a good joke. "Wow man. I thought you were 'flamboyant' enough as it is. Now you're just 'Flaming!'" I threw my head back and laughed. my high pitched laughter clearly annoying my room mate.
"Oh grow up!" He scolded. "You're lucky we're living under the same roof and splitting the rent, or I wouldn't of bothered making your costume in the first place." He huffed and walked towards the door. "Lets get going already."
"Alright, alright. I'm coming." I said while holding in a chuckle. We made our way to his car, got in and headed to our destination.
Half an Hour Later
We finally arrived at our destination and what I saw was something that no picture, video or blog post could ever hope to describe. There were cosplayers EVERYWHERE. It was beautiful. I ran ahead and quickly made my way inside the building to see what other wonders there were. I looked around and saw booths, merchandise, food and hot girls everywhere! If a nerdgasm was anything more than just geeky excitement, I would probably need a new pair of underwear right now.
"um Stephen?" I looked over to see Greg trying to hold in a chuckle. "You might want to close your mouth. you're drooling a little." I grinned and rolled my eyes.
"Very funny." He looked behind me wide a wide eyed grin.
"Hey look over there!" I turned around to see what he was talking about. What we saw was a small booth on the side, away from the other booths. We walked over to where it was and looked at what was on it. There was some pretty interesting stuff. My eyes scanned over the table and i was surprised to not see any prices tags on any of the items there. Also with that thought, where the hell is the person who was supposed to be running this booth?
"Maybe he had to pee?" Richard offered.
I was about to make a sarcastic remark when a certain silver object caught my eye. I looked down to see a beautifully made silver pocket watch with a chain. I quickly snatched it up and turned it about in my hands. I wanted it.
"Found something you like?" Greg asked. I looked beside me and saw him admiring a very familiar looking chain saw.
"Actually yeah. I found this nice looking watch. I wonder how much it costs?"
"who knows," Greg replied. "maybe when he shows up we can haggle with him."
"Maybe," I thought about it for a moment. "Wait, who says haggle anymore?"
A deep voice to my left answered my question. "You'd be surprised how many people still say that these days." I jumped back a bit with a small shriek. "Sorry, didn't mean to scare you there kiddo." He laughed. "Just thought I'd let you know."
Taking a good look at the man who startled me, he seemed to be the guy running the booth (or so i would assume) and oddly enough reminded me of that old 'shady business man' stereotype. kinda like how my mom would warn me about the devil being able to look like a human in a suit.
"She really was a nut job wasn't she?" Richard snickered.
Ignoring that comment i looked again at the watch in my hand and asked, "How much?" The man put his hand to his chin and began to think about it.
"For a timid kid like you... 80 bucks." I pulled out my wallet to see how much i had and was irritated to find that i only had 3 20 dollar bills.
"Damn," I swore. "I'm a bit short. Is there any way you could lower the price?" I asked hopefully. The man Smiled.
"I suppose. It's not like i need the watch anyway." I couldn't help but grin at that. "50 bucks and it's yours. Hell I'll even throw in some silverware for you."
"Uuh, ok. I handed him the money and he handed me the silverware. I put the watch in my coat pocket then put the silverware in my right pants pocket. I looked beside me again to see Greg put down a 100 dollar bill.
"I'll be taking this wonderful weapon if you don't mind." he said grinning widely.
"Sure thing." he said pocketing the bill. "You two have fun now and be sure to send me a post card. I'd love to hear how your trip goes." He then snapped his fingers.
"Wait, what?" Suddenly the floor erupted beneath my feet erupted into black flames. "HOLY HELL!!" I yelled.
"Not exactly." The man then laughed and walked away. My heart was racing in my chest as i was quickly being pulled under. I won't lie, i screamed like a little girl... i think i peed a bit to. the last thing i saw before i met my inevitable fate, was Greg diving towards me and grabbing my hand. "Don't worry, I got y-" Then everything went dark.
