Big Al's(The Utahraptors) reconstruction of events until this point

I may not be able to speak due to my lack of lips, but I understand English. I can read English, type in English and even understand what others are saying. Typing is basically hunt and peck because I only have three fingers and no thumbs. My, there was even a time where I didn't have the friends that I do. I also didn't have an owner like I do now. Allow me to elaborate, my owner and main care giver is Rainbow dash. Her turtle tank was originally, not to keen towards me. He didn't like the idea that there was a second pet getting attention in the house, I eventually setup a truce with him by sharing his concerns with rainbow via typed letter. Yours truly would type and tank would tell me what to say, I may have complex thought but I can still understand animals as well. Rainbow attends canterlot high with our shared friends, Rarity, Applejack, Pinkie pie, Fluttershy and Sunset Shimmer.

Because of my ability to understand and communicate with others, the school has allowed me to walk around the premises of the building. They use me as a hall monitor. due to my speed, I can catch people skipping way faster then they can run from me. They have me wear a necklace that contains an embedded speaker and a button. whenever I press the button with my hand a pre recorded message plays, the voice is of principle celestia asking for a hall pass. If they don't have one or they run, I use my jaws to grab their shirt collar and drag them to the principles office.

Now my life was not always like this, I was a lone predator from the late creataceous. Everyday I only thought about the basic needs such as food, water and shelter from rain. The only thoughts I had were "I need to eat" or "I must drink." Most people get confused about what self awareness is. Self awareness is not knowing who you are, it's knowing what you are. Any animal can think "I'm scared" but not just any animal can think "I am a raptor." The only reason I say this, is because I was not self aware at that point. I was just an animal, I couldn't imagine anything that I haven't seen before. I couldn't think of other worlds or an after life, I could only imagine things I've seen. I can remember clearly what is was doing when the asteroid struck, I was stalking an iguanodon at the time. I was waiting for the right time to strike.

The asteroid impact was not like what most people think it was. There was no wall of fire that engulfed the earth, just a shock wave and a cloud of dust. When the asteroid hit over 3,000 miles away from where I was, there was a bright light. In seconds the light dimmed and the ground started to shake, the shaking lasted for two minutes. As suddenly as it began, it stopped. I did not stop grasping the tree near by to me, I was afraid of what might come next. A hypersonic wave struck not but four minutes after that, luckily for me I hadn't stopped hugging the tree. A near by tree was ripped up by the roots, exposing a now unstable portal. By being contained underground the portal remained stable but once exposed in would only last for two minutes. Within the range of a minute and a minute and thirty seconds I had lost my grip, and was sent straight into the portal.

I remember a sudden extreme headache had knocked me out cold, I would not believe the world I woke up to and the new ways of thinking I had unlocked. When I awoke, the first face I saw was that of Rainbow dash. I noticed the others around me after I completely opened my eyes. I would later find out that Fluttershy had told Rainbow dash to elevate my head. She did this to use gravity to redirect blood flow away from any possible internal bleeding contained in my head. I didn't know why I could understand them, and I still don't to this day. I just remember staring into the purple eyes of Rainbow dash, she stared at me for a second or two before telling everyone I was awake.

They all backed away from me as I proceeded to try to stand. I remember getting to my feet and shaking my head side to side, trying to wake my self up a bit. I didn't stand for long though, my mussels were tired from trying to cling to a tree. I sat down and began examining my self for wounds, this came naturally to me because this was a habit that was originally forced by instinct. I was no longer instinctual by that point, it just seemed logical to do.

I remember hearing someone (who I would later know as Applejack) saying "gosh, that's a weird lookin creature." I took offense to this, I wanted to show that I could understand them. The only thing I could think to do is growl at her from a distance. This immediately caught Rainbow dashes attention, she decided to joke around with Applejack. I believe she said "it's almost like he understood you AJ, isn't that right big guy?" My response was to nod my head up and down, some how it had been ingrained in my mind that this meant 'yes'. Rainbow was taken back by this and asked me another question, "wait, can you understand us?" Again I nodded my head.

Fluttershy felt overjoyed and started to speak to me, "This is so amazing! Tell me what your thinking!" I cocked my head to one side curiously, she examined my head to find a reason why I was not speaking. After a few short moments she discovered I had no lips. Many theropod dinosaurs don't have lips like people do. Our lips are fused around the gums, giving the appearance that we just have gums. Our top teeth would stick out over the lower lips, just like you see in most recreations of a T. Rex. Fluttershy's face instantly grew disappointed. I noticed this and used my snout to brush against her, as a way of trying to comfort her over her crushed dreams.

Over a few hours time they slowly established what I could and could not do. Rainbow decided to name me, it's a name I still go by to this day. She named me Big Al, or Al for short. The reason she named me what she did, as I would come to find out, was because she like the name Al. The reason my full name is Big Al is because I was the largest animal she had ever seen that close.

Fluttershy was originally going to take me to live at the animal shelter, but she changed her mind because Rainbow named me. The first question she had for me as a pet was "Can you keep up with my car at highway speeds." I nodded yes even though I wasn't sure what highway speeds were. She jumped into her car and told me one simple sentence, "try and keep up!" She took off at a speed I would later call 60 miles per hour. I managed to keep my head in the view from the drivers side window, but only when I was sprinting as fast as I could. Rainbow slowed the car to a stop and put the car in park. I remember standing there, panting really hard through my mouth. Rainbow got out of her car and walked towards me. The sentence she spoke next I will always remember for as long as I live "All right, you can stay with me." She said the whole sentence with a smile on her face, she was also rubbing me on the top of the head.

I remember feeling so happy as I though to my self, "I have a family now."
